Clearer Skin

I've been vaping for about month now and started noticing changes in my complexion within the first two days. That trend of clearer skin, less redness, and less acne has continued.

I've had bad skin most of my life so I noticed even the slightest of change. The change in the last month has not been subtle at all, it's actually been a pretty drastic one for the better.

What I don't know is that if this change is a result of the vaping, or the lack of combustion because nothing else in my life has changed.

I'm thinking it could only be one of two things:

By vaping and not smoking I'm not receiving the chemicals from combusting that was causing the inflammation.

Or

By vaping only I'm absorbing the medicinal qualities of the herb that is cleaning up the inflammation in my body.

Whatever is happening, the end result is that my skin is much clearer and I'm hoping this is an indication there is less inflammation throughout my entire body.

I'm thinking now that vaping might access more of the medicine over combusting and possibly change a humans absorption rate.

What medicines you receive and don't, may be different when vaping over combustion even if you set aside the fact I'm not inhaling the burnt plant material.

Whatever is happening, not combusting anymore has been a good thing and I'm seeing that on my own face.

There are cannabis-based creams you could try. I wonder if just making cannabutter and using that as a balm would help. You could experiment with making some from ABV or reclaim.

It is definitely reducing inflammation. that's one of the benefits of cannabis, is the anti-inflammatory elements.

I've also struggled with systemic inflammation, including flare ups on my face, my entire life. I have discovered, through elimination and careful reintroduction, that certain "foods" create almost instant inflammation in me - liquid milk (raw, organic, grass-fed - I can handle a reasonable amount of cultured dairy, like aged cheese, greek yogurt, sour cream, but no liquid milk product), wheat, soy, legumes, and PUFAs (poly unsaturated fatty acids - 99% of the liquid oils used in all the processed foods).

I do use a canna-oil made from ABV & coconut oil on my skin, though my face doesn't react well to it, the other rough skin (elbows) loves it, and it calms right down.

Lower temp vaping might be good for realizing more of the anti-inflammatory properties. Something you just can't get when you burn the herb.

Well, I don't know that for sure but if that's the case it's doing one hell of a job. It didn't have this effect on me smoking.

Well with cannabis you don't have all the chemicals that come with cigarettes (that smoke is definitely bad for the skin- aging it if nothing else), but smoke is still not good for the body. Mine (at least the lungs) won't tolerate smoke anymore, on a regular basis, but does just fine with vapor.

If you really want to test the theory, you could go back to smoking and see what happens. ;)

Pretty sure it's the fact that you're not combusting. Smoking is known to induce an inflammatory reaction in the body.

Smoking causes the blood vessels in your outer layers of skin to narrow, meaning less blood flow to the skin and therefore less oxygen and nutrients as well. This causes skin to become wrinkled and leathery with a yellowish complexion which is what you may have experienced before.

Uh, no. But I was talking about smoking cannabis, it never cleared up my skin combusting and lord' knows I've combusted nearly a ton along the way. I go back to before Woodstock days.

No, this is something entirely different that's happening and it appears to be good.

I try to take care of myself, I exercise 5 days a week, take a large vitamin/supplement stack each day, I eat right ( some of the time) drink green smoothies, even though they taste bad.

I'm in tune with what happens to my body and notice when something changes. I believe what I'm seeing is that my face is becoming less inflamed and the only thing that changed in my fairly strict routine is the vaping. I'm still consuming the same amount and type of cannabis.

People claim cannabis does this and that, and is often seen as a cover to get high. I think I operate better under the influence ( and my preference) and that's why I do it, with the added bonus of vaping is that it drastically removes inflammation in the body?

What's interesting to me, is that I didn't expect my skin to clear up. I never read that vaping has any real anti-inflammatory benefit that might offer any "noticeable" advantage to skin conditions. As I wasn't expecting this pleasant surprise, it can't be a hallucination.

Sure, it could be just me not combusting at all and clear up has nothing to do with vaping. That's ok too as the results are the same.

The only way to test this is for me to stop vaping and as that's not likely to happen, this may remain a mystery.

I know. I wasn't referring to smoking tobacco. But smoke is what you've eliminated, so if nothing else has changed, it's possible that's the reason. Maybe your body/skin, in particular, doesn't take well to smoke. Everyone is different.

The skin is a mirror, where we can see what's going on inside. When I get an eczema pustule, I know that my insides are a mess.

Cannabis is an herb. Actually, it qualifies as a weed. As a drinker of green smoothies (increase the banana/fruit ratio for better taste), I'm sure you are aware of the benefits of greens, and of garden weeds, in a raw state. Cannabis is really no different. You can juice it, throw it in a smoothie, etc., and you will get similar health benefits to using other garden greenery.

It is my understanding that the anti-inflammatory compounds in plants are destroyed at high temperatures. Thus, smoothies and salads, lightly steamed greens, and vaporizing at low temps. :)

Anyway, I'm blabbing my own ear off here... yes, I'm still testing the EVO. ;)

Yeah no shit. Stop with the fucking smoking already. All of it.

I quit cigarettes cold turkey less than 2 years ago after 40+ years. My mind and body went through hella changes then too, so all of this is part of that discovery. I'm finally 100% smoke free for about 1 month.
