Any UK Vapers out there?

Yeah I think most things sold on ebay don't have a warranty because they aren't authorised dealers, that's not to say all of them aren't. Some people don't mind this and prefer to take the gamble and save some money, I guess it all depends how risk adverse you are. Always check with the person selling that they are an authorised dealer if you want a warranty which personally I feel is normally a good idea when buying a piece of electronics.

Gawd more options to buy, i told you you lot were overwhelming;) Is ebay reliable then?I have read about them having the warranty things scraped off (i'm really sorry i'm new to all this vaping lark so not sure if thats right or not)
l

This will be the seller goodgets_uk, and they are authorized by arizer so you'll have no problems! The scratched off serial numbers would probably have been off of second hand and probably nicked vapes.

I live in West Wickham and my family are in Uckfield. Anywhere near you?

The wierd thing is i used to live in Selsdon which is 20 minutes down the road from West Wickham, and now i'm 20 minutes away from your family, small world!

Hi All,

Have been lurking around for a few days trying to make sense of things and saw a UK thread so thought i'd say hello. Mid 40s from Essex, toking since 15 but only now turning on to the possibility of vaping :/

These days I rarely have any green at all, preferring pressed hash. I work from home and the green means I don't work at all :/ but hash keeps me happy and able to function ;)

I'm looking for a vape thats built for hash and I've read a lot of posts that refer to 'concentrates' but the definition of concentrate doesn't seem fixed, which is why i'm confused.

I want a vape that can be picked up, hit a couple of times and then left for a bit. I tend to take an leisurely hour to smoke a joint in 3 or 4 sessions. A few puffs, a bit of work, a cuppa, a few puffs ...

I've tried the volcano with some nice green but its too much theatre for daily use, so when i saw the pen-like vapes - and the newer ecigs - i thought there must be something out there that could help me cut out the evil 'baccy but as i said, i'm struggling to find a clear answer.

I'd rather not have to mess around with sandwiching between bud, or wrapping in cotton. I don't want one that gets gunked up every hit. I understand the need for cleaning but would prefer every few days to every hit if possible ;)

Currently, it looks like the Cera with Loose Leaf cartridge could be the one but just wanted to see who else uses a vape with hash without too much hassle.

Cheers

Hey Kadu, what about a Vapir no 2? £120 on ebay UK. You need vaping in your life!

Hey Ansel - like the OM avatar; takes me back ...

I definitely need vaping ;)

I did look at about 10 pages of the Vapir thread but couldn't see a definitive answer to the hash question. I was also put off a bit by having to use mesh screens - although as a vape-noob maybe that's how we roll - and I just assumed they'd get gunked up and need to be swapped out a lot.

Home about a vapor genie mate

hey as - i hadn't come across those before;

I had a quick look and read a few reviews but it doesn't really do it for me.

To me, it looks like there's too much variability in the process. Having to get the flame just the right distance away seems like a bit of a pain - from the instructions: "DO NOT touch the flame to the ceramic filter - and apparently, as you would expect ;) , the metal ones get really hot!

Thanks though, it helps narrow it down.

How about the the Lotus mate. It hits like a champ, and is so versatile! Especially with the water pipe attachment (WPA)

Hey everyone. Mid 20's living in the North East. Smoking since I was 20 and vaping since I was 22. Never smoked cigs so didn't want to smoke full stop. Only ever owned a MFLB but love the thing. Been following the cloud forum since it started and quite keen to grab one. Going to wait until the EVO is up and running before I take the plunge and order one. Anyone else bought one? Anyone know the craic with customs charges etc?

thanks @GSH and @Seren ;)

I love the craftsmanship of the vapeman and quite like the look of the lotus -> probably more so the lotus with the additional water pipe ;)

However, both of these vapes use a torch, which I don't think is what I'm after. I want to ditch the lighter completely ;)

Current favourite is the FLASHvape - initially, it seems similar to the vapir, but is the only vape I've seen that specifically says it will work with pressed hash - backed up by the thread comments - so that's why i could be the one for me. Battery life seems OK I guess, and cleaning seems to be ok too. I'm only 20 pages into an 80 page thread though :/

I was favouring the cera but was put off by some of the comments on that thread - although I did start from the end of the thread ... also have to go back over the vapir thread ... still much work to do before I manage to become tobacco free ...

Pretty sure I posted in this thread but now it's gone, I hope I didn't break the rules somehow...

Just wanted to say thanks for starting a UK thread, it's a great idea!

I'm a London-based vaporist since I gave up smoking in 2006. My favourite vape is the VapeXhale Cloud but I can't wait to try the EVO... that should be happening soon! Also a big fan of the miniVAP and the Pinnacle Pro right now.

Hi VF

Good to hear from you - I saw your earlier mysteriously disappeared post while at work. You mentioned the Solo was good for my pressed needs, so thanks for that. I'm not sure about the heat up time and I think you have to finish a bowl as it keeps heating ? May have got that wrong.

I think, after days of reading, my three possibilities are the FlashVAPE, miniVAP and EVO. FlashVAPE is quick to heat, and so is the miniVAP judging by your review - loved your reviews BTW - that would be ideal for me, just to hit it a few times and put it down while I work ;) Not sure if the EVO is the same yet, much reading still to do. How is the miniVAP for pressed ? Any idea on the EVO ?

Cheers

12 mins shut off is great, prob about right for a dosage level and very easy to turn it back on- you can even have it beep when the 12 mins is up so you don't miss it.

You don't have to finish a bowl in one, you can take out the mouthpiece and turn it off, that would remove the herb or concentrates from the heat source. You can get little caps for the mouthpieces so you can save whatever's in them till next time.

miniVAP is NOT quick to heat, it takes about 6 mins plus. Most convection-only vapes have slow heat up times. EVO apparently has faster heat-up than the original Cloud but I think it's still around 5 mins. Solo is under a minute. I haven't tried the miniVAP with pressed, but it has a high setting which would probably be good for it. However, be warned, the heat the miniVAP up that high would take over 10 minutes!

I honestly think the Solo or the Pinnacle Pro are the guys for you.

Thanks mate, appreciate that ;)

I'm not sure why I discounted the PP - will have to go back and read up I think.

Can the MV be left on and ready-to-go though - obviously would need the mains adapter. Not sure on the electricity cost either :0

I'll also go back and have another read through the solo thread. the last few pages seem to be people having issues with it, and questions over model number - if new is best etc.

On the solo, I think I saw somewhere that there's another screen to go on the mouthpiece before you pluyg it back into the solo - although i didn't see you use it in the video review.

Thanks again for the info ;)

you can get all sorts of different mouthpieces, some have screens, some don't. If you're using pressed solids you wouldn't need to, but maybe you could if you wanted to make the mouthpiece easier to clean. I normally just roll a thin sausage, curl it up so it's like a disc, and whack that in the solo mouthpiece. Then use a paperclip to poke it out once it's done.

Hi Guys.

A new entrant to the vape scene. Had given up the evil nicotine and said goodbye to being high until my friend bought a volcano and here I am.

Just ordered a flash vape - other half is treating me for Xmas. Looking forward to trying it.

Been a while since I bought some green but Edinburgh prices seem to be £150 an oz.

Are these internet based shops still going? I know you get them on the black side of the internet via onion tor.

We're not allowed to talk about that stuff. But expect that ounce to last you a long time.

I just wanted to drop in and say welcome to all the new visitors because I haven't been in the thread for a while.

Hey @KaduFlyer, I'm glad to see people have been giving you good advice on what vape to get.

Yarrrgh @Threepwood, me ol' bucko. I love the name, I'm hoping that's a Monkey Island reference. Otherwise just ignore pretty much everything I've said. Damn I loved the first two games. The idea of insult sword fighting is genius IMO.

I don't know what's going on with import VAT and customs charges on the EVO but after the trouble they've had I imagine that they would want to do things by the book especially considering the nature of the product they sell. All this means I'm guessing you'd get the full set of charges and tax if you ordered from the US, although this is just speculation on my part and I don't think @stonemonkey55 has said what the deal is with this. I know he's very busy at the moment because of the launch of the EVO but you can always shoot him a PM that he may respond to some time in the future. Since you don't seem to be in a hurry it might be worth just waiting and finding out after the launch.

Also I'm not sure what they are doing with the preorders but they mentioned an extra charge of $50 for international postage during the indiegogo campaign. If this was the same for the preorders then you might end up paying around $600 total by ordering straight from vapexhale. All this means you'd probably be better ordering from VapeFiend when they get them in stock as they are in the UK and you'd also have the bonus of being able to return the unit to them rather than have to ship it internationally if you were unfortunate enough that anything went wrong with the unit. From the website it looks like they are currently planning on selling them at £300 with free UK shipping.

This brings me neatly onto my next greeting, welcome to the thread @VapeFiend.com. It's always great to see members from the UK and doubly so when they are an experienced retailer who we can bounce questions off of. Don't worry I'm not preparing to bombard you with them just yet but I imagine I'll want to pick your brains over a few things in future if you don't mind.

Hi @geefonk, it's a pleasure to meet you. I hope you enjoy your flashvape and have a very green Christmas.

And of course a big hello to all the people I forgot to welcome before and an equally big "How's it going?" to all the rest of you.

Sorry about the lengthy post guys but it's been a while so there was a fair bit I had to get through. I hope I didn't miss anyone out and I'm glad to see the regulars are keeping this thread alive, I'm sure the last thing we want is this thread to be consigned to the great ABV jar in the sky (well....technically at the bottom on the front page but you know what I mean).
