Watched the "Making Of" video.

Wow, amazing. Does he do all that work himself or does he have helper elves? I can't imagine assembling those units all day long. Handling those tiny screws alone would be maddening.

I have to say that in my lifetime of purchases, the vapes that I've bought are definitely worth their purchase price when considering the high degree of workmanship that goes into them. I'm impressed by the quality available for products not made in an Asian sweat-shop, but by actual craftsmen.

I hope it stays this way. I remember when ski manufacturing shifted from Europe and North America to China. Despite the global economy, it's sad to see things go that way.

Watch out! If there's free shipping when buying a Vapman from the manufacturer, I had to pay 33€ of custom fee (I'm from Belgium)!
Better know it because it's not said on the website…

^^ ^^ .....I also paid extra in customs fees for delivery to the UK. However, since I bought mine a couple of EU & UK stockists have sprung up. So, for delivery to anywhere in the EU at least, you don't have to worry about any unexpected extra costs :)

I guess the customs charges may be one of the reasons free shipping is offered by the makers - as a means of trying to offset these extra costs.

You could order one directly from the manufacturer - they offer free shipping for orders over CHF75 ;)

True rumor. I bought my backup model (the unfinished ones), spare parts and exotic wood stems from them a year or so back. Got here very fast and in a really cute little box.

No duty issues coming to the US. I don't recall the free shipping part, but it wasn't a big deal for sure.

An ebony Vapman would be off the charts....and probably expensive as hell.

The ebony mouthpiece is by far my favourite in terms of how it looks, the vapour also tastes great through it.

Oh, so you have both the mica and the pure versions then? The website states that in terms of function both models are identical - is that your experience?

From the looks of the photo above, the limited edition models will all be of classic design. If anyone knows any different, please correct me :)

Yup, gotta agree with them. The wood chars very little, but the mica does make it look much better I think. A couple of quick coats of Linseed oil (what they use) and the finish on the outside is basically the same.

If money is dear, I'd definitely recommend considering it.

FWIW, I kinda like the Hawthorne MP.....how many other places do you see Hawthorne? Let alone perched on top of Pear wood.....

Oh that's nice to know, thanks for the info @OF. I only have a basic Vapman at the moment, which I think is great in terms of performance. I personally don't mind the charring, in fact I think it adds somewhat to the character of the little fella :) However, I also agree that the classic models do have a certain elegance to them. So much so, I'm very tempted to buy another limited edition model to add to my collection ....... :D

Can anyone comment on their package labeling? I live in a small town with a nosey postal lady. It's gotta be extremely discrete.

Thanks!

I have another question. The Vapman I have has the element logo on it while others I've seen say Vapman. Anyone know what's up with that?

Vapman is the vaporizer model name, and Element Medical Ltd is the company name. I think the Element logo was used on earlier units, and Vapman on later/current ones.

There seem to be alot of Vapman knowledgeable people out there. Maybe a helpful hint for me. I've used it a few times with a small amount of herb and a Zeus lighter w/Xicar butane. I'm getting a very light vaporization, some really nice taste but virtually no visible vapor. The very small bowlful is hit probably too many times till browning sets in. The bowl feels hot to the touch. I have no way to know how hot, but I can carefully lay a finger on it. I'm pretty sure it's not the technique as I'm copying the recommended procedures. I've tried covering the holes as well. I get much better hits from my launchbox and according to the message boards this should not be so. What could possibly be going on here?
