Personally I think you boys are playing it wrong and better off paying the $100, than waiting. You know supply and demand.

Yes, except my part of the demand is very low, if I miss out on this, I won't be disappointed. For me this is more of a social experiment in eBay negotiation, with a cheap cloud bonus if successful. Seller only participates if they volunteer to meet my price. If not, then the unit I would have bought goes to someone who really wants it for that higher but still low price. It's a WIN WIN! :haw:

I doubt it, but it would be funny if the seller has an FC account and has read all of this... :smug:

i am sooooooooo stuck on the fence on this one!!! i

so confused.... this IS and probably will be my ONLY chance to own a cloud........ not sure what to do :(

Menzie, I'm kinda in the same boat but for a different reason.

I always wanted a Cloud. Could never afford one. Then this thing comes out.............100 bucks. I'm thinkin', as I posted previously, no way. No way am I going to buy any vape that doesn't have a warranty, regardless of price especially one that had enough issues to cause VXL to change manufacturers and possibly parts suppliers.

But after reading more of the posts here, I'm thinkin', "WTF. I just sold my Ascent so I have a little extra cash. This is the ONLY way that I'm ever going to experience a Cloud being that I'm on a fixed income. Fuck it . I'm gonna do it". But I can't, goddammit. Knowing Monkey and the hard work, effort and sweat that he put in in giving birth to this product, I can't bring myself to do an end run around him. I really wish I could because I think it's the only vape that could knock my LSV off it's "daily driver" status.

So to all those that I may have offended for implying that you made a bad decision to purchase this, I take it back. I just wish that I too could have made the same decision, but being here long enough to witness the birth of the Cloud, and knowing the man behind it, there's just no way I could do it. Wish I could but please understand that I am not disparaging anyone who can.

It's nice to have empathy, but it sure as hell gets in the way sometimes. Fuck...........

Yeah theres no way I could afford an EVO any time soon (ring, and honeymoon take precedent) but ONE DAY I will support VXC. Just couldn't pass up the price tag after reading about the units received.

I would be careful with that one comment in your otherwise very cool post.

Have gone through literally a dozen Clouds from purchasing 3 initially way back when. Currently have a working OG ticker, Cloud+, non-working warrantied Cloud+ and of course a Fanatic Evo with two more coming. None of the bamboo's ever moved the slightest. I have read here that people slide theirs up and down and if you ask me that is a defect.

It has been said by VXL team members, that on some models, the bamboo is not fused solid to anything, yet held tightly. IMO, this isn't a defect, but a good design, as this allows movement, in case the unit get's dropped, or inserted into a glass piece too firmly, this will allow the bamboo to move rather than possibly break.

I know that until I was told the bamboo could move, I didn't think it could, as I felt any more pressure than I was applying would be too much. To my knowledge, most all models bamboos can move, it's just not meant to be simple.

Soooo, I just opened the package, and inside was 1 VXL Cloud + (silver knob, long non-flared bamboo, no ticking) 1 glass mouthpiece, and 3 ELBs. I turned on the Cloud, and it got obviously warm/hot within minutes. I'm waiting for it to cool so I can clean this thing...the whole thing is quite dirty, aside from the outer shell. the outside of the inner metal quarter pieces are covered in gross blackish stuff, and the entire bamboo is filthy on the inside. It definitely stunk in a bad way compared to how my Cloud used to smell/smells occasionally. But, I'm sure once cleaned, it will all be fine. Edit* my bamboo was pushed down far enough to keep the Cloud from sitting evenly on the table. I moved it up with no issues.

So far, the unit definitely works as it should, and I'll post more later!

Carefully, as to not get any ISO into the Cloud itself, but to get ISO just into the bamboo:

Hold one finger tightly over the bottom or top of the bamboo. Carefully, using an oral syringe or something else, (unless your ISO bottles will squirt out ISO easily, without spraying / leaking it.) add ISO into the bamboo of your Cloud (after it has fully cooled down, or else you could shatter the glass from the thermal shock of cold ISO and hot glass)

Once you have got a bit of ISO into the bamboo, cover the other end, and shake, carefully, or if you have a way to actually plug the ends without your hands, let it sit and soak.

I don't have corks or anything, so I hold my thumb over the male joint, and pour ISO into the bottom of the bamboo. Two reasons: the bottom of the bamboo has a longer shot before the restriction, and when ISO hits the restriction, it won't want to go through as there is air trapped. So, you can get more ISO into the bamboo easily through the bottom. Once it gets "full" (no more will go in, but you can tell there is air trapped) that is enough ISO IMO. Second reason for the bottom vs. the top: bigger hole, better shot at not getting ISO into the inside of the Cloud.

Once I have the ISO in the bamboo, I cover the other end with my hand, and shake. Then, I carefully drain it out of either end, back and forth, until most of it is out (hard to get the last) and I am careful to wipe both the male joint and the bottom of the bamboo with a cloth or paper towel, so as to catch the dripping ISO before I flip the unit over to drain from the other end. This prevents the ISO from trickling up the outside of the bamboo, and down into the unit when you flip it.

Once it's as dry as possible, wait longer and longer, until there is no ISO smell in the bamboo. Then you should be safe to turn on your unit.

Not to be demanding in that annoying FC way. But you aware of any posts in the cloud thread with pics or a video? Or will it be much more straightforward and less scary sounding when i am looking at an actual cloud in my hand?

How often do you clean the bamboo?

Cloud Lounging
I just ordered two clouds from this seller for $200 total including shipping. My buddy has a cloud plus already and wanted this to travel with. This will be my first cloud but I will be buying an evo as soon as theyre done with pre-orders. I figured for a hundred bucks this should be fine until I have an evo. Thank god my wife gives me an allowance :)

The seller seems to respond very quick although I did email him through ebay asking if it included ELBs and I do not have a response. I have a feeling he doesnt really know what these are, which if he is simply selling because he picked them up cheap and is trying to make a buck I can understand.

I want to apologize to SM for buying this but I fully intend to support his company. This is just a band-aid while I wait to really fix my cloud desires. I figure...someone is going to buy it, take advantage of it now.

You'd think if someone had their hands on ALL of these he would do at least some research about it..

I do not no of any pics/video. I can say that while I clean my bamboo often (every couple weeks or more) there are MANY more users who don't clean that often, if at all.

I'd say, if you don't feel safe, to just overlook the bamboo when it arrives, and if it doesn't look dirty/too dirty, just give it a good puff of air (blow through it quickly/hard) and then plug it in, and let it heat up / "burn off." If you don't smell anything foul/see anything displeasing, I would go ahead and vape. The human body has a great sense of self harm reduction, using smell/taste/sight. I'm just a bit picky, so don't take my post too heavily where I said it was all filthy. Some may have left it untouched and been fine!

Now what are you implying there, Jeff? "Demanding" and "annoying" kinda goes together like "peanut" and "butter", eh? ;)

I just mean when people on FC annoy other FC'ers with questions that if someone spent the next 7 days reading the original cloud thread they might figure out. You know what I mean.

I am paranoid too, and also about damaging it. I have never held a cloud, so I don't even really know what you are talking about with the bamboo etc. I will peep it and figure it out. I have managed to clean the pax without destroying it with ISO so I assume my common sense and paranoia will prevail.

Tweak I have been meaning to ask you about your signature. You use the SSV with an EQ elbow pack and an EQ with the SSV wand? I know of the later mod, but not the former. Kind of funny and ironic.

I thought so too right after I added to my sig. IMO, the mods take both vapes to a different level.

So far, I'm loving this thing. It seems to vape at the low temps a bit better than my OG...

How low do you go? I've never gone below 11 o'clock.

Glad to see users are getting working units. If it wasn't so close to xmas I might have thought about picking one up as a backup, actually still am, ;). My C+ is only 5 months old, so there is no way I could justify buying the EVO. :ugh:

I usually vape at 9am for the lowest setting, using my OG. I turned this thing on, at around 7/8am temp, waited for green, and waited another 5 minutes or so. I hit it, and holy mother of flavor! I got absolutely NO visible vapor, and don't think it did anything other than extract flavor. WOW. I've got very very tasty hits from my OG, low temps or not, but usually lower the better. This, is WOW. Maybe I've never tried the lowest settings on my OG while it was cold before hand. I usually don't let it cool down forever when I want low temps, it's usually been pre-heated so long that I bet it's a bit above the temp I was just vaping at.

Regardless, this seems to have good stable temp. I've gone up to 12 noon with it so far, and got nice visible vapor, great flavor, great Clouds. I'll test the higher range before bed.

Edit* Also, not to be a negative downer, but if these units are faulty like they are thought to be, they will most likely work out of the box, and experience issues down the road...with the "how far down the road" being the variable. Some people have assumedly had these defective units last, and not fail...maybe because they stay at low temps, maybe because they stay at high temps without changing, maybe because the units are kept on 24/7. Common causes of death to these are thought to be EITHER High temps in general, or going to and from high temps / low temps, causing stress. Some believe leaving on at a high temp will prevent failure.

Regardless, I don't have too much faith in this. It works now, but for how long, who knows. My OG on the other hand, I'll be surprised when it dies.

You are just that demanding, in that annoying FC way. I kid, I kid...It's totally understandable to be nervous about this, especially if you haven't got a clue what I'm talking about! So, here ya go!

You should consider yourself special. I don't think I've ever spoken on video here before... I usually do captions/annotations in my videos. But, this was just easier!

I actually picked up a f/f to do the ddave mod last night. Need more research sadly I think it will be interrupted by the cloud +. I do want to try with an ssv wand just didn't have one lying around or at the head shops i hit. First go with the f/f and the elbow pack was insanely harsh and also devastated me high wise. The ABV was extremely dark and uneven. Need to mess with it more. I was in a hurry to get baked and out the door. Research will happen.

I'm am digging the el cheapo. It has a 120 watt heater compared to my og's 80 watts. It does have a more restricted air path which is a big minus to me. I like a good easy pull. It's gives a helluva cloud. :)
This airpath doesn't seem too much more restricted...however I haven't tried it in a water piece yet. I'll do a side by side with my OG later. The path definitely looks more restricted, just doesn't feel like it's negatively affecting it...I like a less restrictive path too, so I'll notice for sure with a bubbler, or something bigger.

Got him down to $95, huh? Didn't think he'd go lower than $100.
I emailed the ebay seller and asked: "Do you know if these Vapexhale CLOUD Plus units are from the original/prior manufacturer, or from the current company manufacturer? Thanks!"

I have not yet received a reply (2 days). At this point I don't expect an answer. The answer being the foregone conclusion, of course.

Wow. I do feel special. You didn't link to an old video you made me one. Seriously thank you man that was awesome. And makes total sense now. Clearly I need to get my cloud lingo down. I thought there was some kind of bamboo in there and i was injecting ISO between the bamboo and the glass stem/airpath. Wow. Upon seeing your video it all makes sense, and reminded me Cloud has all glass air path with isolated heater and electronics. You are cleaning the inside of it. Easy peasy. Makes a lot of sense to me. Thanks again. Sadly I must admit I may have been confused with it in my hand without that video. You the man!

The one thing that pisses me off about this(besides the fact the manufacturer screwed over VXL) is the fact that this is pushing down the used market for OG clouds significantly. I for one plan on selling my OG once the EVO arrives but now the market will be saturated with ultra cheap Cloud+(I can't afford both, and bought the EVO with the intention of selling my original).

I guess the only thing going for me is I have a OG ticker which doesn't appear to be as prone to failure as the newer ones.

I sincerely doubt that these 'VXL-rejected' units will have any effect on the used or new market price whatsoever. They are not even 'tip of the iceberg' in number compared to what's out there. They are known as troublesome and offer no return or repair if defective. I wouldn't expect to pay a penny less for your used unit or a new one because of these 'orphaned ebay models'. :2c:

EDIT: I would expect, if anything, the new upcoming VXL model will have some bearing (but not much) on the used model market (which should hold value fairly well).
