I recently discovered Pixel Dungeon, a free turn-based rogue-like dungeon crawler for Android. I'm currently about 250 games in... Lots of fun!

Tried the Dark Souls II "beta network test" fail ... lol @ epic misses like wrong version of client for an entire hemisphere. I hear I didn't miss much tho as hardly any of the network features worked at all for those with the JPN client.

Tempted with AC Black Flag (Pirates stuff supposedly very cool) but I can never finish an AC game, I hate the Desmond/current day BS gameplay. And the "follow that guy" missions are fucking horrible.

Great graphics, great concept but the series has some serious issues with bad mission design and horrid storytelling

Getting ghost for PS4. Kinda was dissapointed with MW3, MW2 is the best imo, but I have high hopes for ghost(Infinity Ward always makes a good CoD).
I agree, MW2 was pretty good, Mw3 was just newer...and I have never been into the world at war/black ops... really hoping ghosts is not disappointing!

My husband is at Game Stop right now picking up Assassin's Creed, Black Flag. I won't let him have Batman Arkham Origins until Christmas.

I'm hearing some disappointing things about the latest Batman A game. Although the boss battles are supposedly much better now, they still can't figure out how to handle anything outside of combat to make it not chore like.

What do you mean? He's played Asylum and City, and defeated them both in less than a month.

While plenty of my friends have beat the games, I always got stalled on non-combat portions and ended up getting frustrated & quitting

Wanted to beat Asylum before City but still stuck on Asylum.

Different studio developed the game, and they changed it up a little. Boss Battles are now way better than the previous games, but the problems with AC's open world and fetch quests apparently are even worse in this one.

If your hubs like AC he'll probably dig the new Origins games.

Some consider the first one was the best because of how tight it was, where as Ark City got a little bit of fetch quest/ explore-chore-ish for some of us. Like for me, I played the first one start to finish in 1 weekend, could not put it down, and almost re-played it. AC I still haven't beaten, whenever I play it I forget what quest I am on and often have a hard time finding out where to even go.

Like that notorious mission where you can only enter the building by activating the slide move after using electrical charge, but only on that 1 specific door. The whole point of the section is a tutorial on how to do running slides... which made me feel dumb because I hadn't played the game since that running slide tutorial and forgot that was even a move and spent 10 minutes wondering how the heck I was supposed to enter a building that had imaginary windows and no entry points... unless you do the 1 specific running slide...

I think that's the design style that sort of cramped the open world bit for me, yeah the world was "open" but it was really Zelda-style puzzles and the story and game are mostly linear (not a bad thing, AA was linear) so I guess it was this illusion of open world that got some of us bummed.

In case you didn't get a copy of COD:Ghosts for PC, Amazon has it for $0.03 cheaper then Steam, AND you get the Freefall Dynamic bonus map thrown in for free. Only other way to get that map I believe is to buy the Season pass or the Hardened addition. I know this game is not for everyone out there, just thought I'd pass it own as I almost bought Ghosts from Steam and would of missed out on the free map. I love Steam, but a free map is a free map.

Downloading Splinter Cell Blacklist now! I got it for free along with assassins creed black flag with my new graphics card. I've been playing splinter cell since the original, and even though the series isn't as good as it once was I can't stop myself from playing it. I don't know anything about the Blacklist and I want to keep it that way so there's no expectations to be crushed.

Not to mention the extremely repetitive game play and somewhat gimped hide system. Dive into a pile of hay my ass... but yeah the pirate stuff does look interesting. I generally lose interest near the end of the game, I haven't finished an AC since the first.

I just bought Blacklist for my Dad for his B'day.

I haven't actually played any of the Splinter Cell series, neither has he, but I've read that they play similarly to MGS, which we both love...

As for my Gaming time right now, it's all going into GTAV/Online...
It's certainly still a bit rough around the edges online, but if you're willing to put up with it, much fun awaits :p

Ghosts is pretty fucken nuts, am liking it so far, my squad is 10-1 and im putting up a 2.21 k/d.
I didn't RTFM yet so if you could answer this I'd appreciate it. Do you create a squad of withother live people? I am a solitary gamer and don't want to talk to others and strategize with them. Not very social I know, but I just want to shoot computer generated people in the quiet of my home. Do you create these squads with A.I. or a group of live people? Thanks
I played multiplayer and keep cancelling when it tells me to do Squads 1st.

You can do both, i play with real people but i believe you can create your own game with bots and u can choose the map/gamemode etc. I didnt do the squads thing when it recommended it I'm not sure what that is.

I really hate that there are barely any split screen games anymore. I used to have the time of my life hanging out with friends playing videogames. Now if you want to play your friends they have to be at their own house at their own system to play.
Just picked up Borderlands 2 for the ps3. $10.
Pretty sure it has splitscreen co-op. Going to find out tomorrow when a friend comes over.

Also bought GTA5, finally, as a midterms-are-over celebration xD

This has been one of my biggest complaints with the gaming industry. Sports games are the only ones I know of that consistently have local multiplayer.

The only "new" party game I have is Little Big Planet 2, no split screen but up to four players local co-op. The game is so much fun and the minigames provide so much entertainment; the latter stages are actually challenging but not overly frustrating. It will challenge your timing and thinking. It may look like a kids game but I play with people of all ages and skills. And how can you not enjoy dressing up your sack-boy?

So pissed off after I got home and found out Little Big Planet Karting didn't have local multiplayer. How the fuck can you make a mario-kart-like game and not have any local play? Needless to say I promptly returned it... after playing it for a few hours. It was used without a case, so it wasn't 100% my fault for not reading the case. I had high hopes for that game which it mostly met, but it isn't something I'd play by myself.

If I want to play local multiplayer I'm forced to break out the N64
