VaporBlunt 14.4 mm Micro-shower (PNWT) vs. PlanetVape f-BOMB

At the lack of a specific thread for this comparison, I thought I would put up my findings. These were compared using an Arizer Solo on level 4 (195°C / 383°F) with 14mm Shorty GonG, lightly packed with Girl Scout Cookies flowers.

Size:
The Pinnacle Water Tool (PNWT) is shorter and fatter than the f-BOMB and the glass is much thicker. It feels more sturdy and less likely to break.

PNWT - 5.125 in long, 1.375in diameter
f-BOMB - 5.5in long, 1.125in diameter

Diffusion:
I find the f-BOMB to diffuse a bit more, due to it's jet holes, but to combat that you can put in less water than the PNWT. Both have sufficient diffusion to cool the vapor and still deliver decent taste.

Taste:
Not much between them in this department. However, whilst there is less water in my f-BOMB, and therefore would expect more taste to come through, I actually find the PNWT slightly better. I am not sure if it is because the slits are larger in the PNWT or what to be honest, but I find the taste and terpene profiles more pronounced with the PNWT.

Draw:
The draw on the PNWT is much easier, because of this I tend to blow smaller clouds with the PNWT. The restricted draw and reduced water capacity from the f-BOMB lends itself to larger vapor clouds.

Price:
Not much in it really. At full price the PNWT is $129.99 USD and the f-BOMB is slightly cheaper at $105.99 USD ($109.99 CAD). However, I got my PNWT with an offer code for $50 USD so it was a n absolute steal.

Conclusion:
Since receiving the PNWT it has been my go to piece between that and the f-BOMB. It was a steal at $50 with the coupon code, PNWT50 (available till the end of October 2013), so with that in mind it makes it the winner in my opinion. It is great to have two similar pieces though as you never know when you might need a backup!

The only issue I have with mine is that the innermost tube in the PNWT is slanted and touching the sides of the tube it is encased in. Doesn't affect the operation, but aesthetically it is slightly off. Nevertheless, I am more than happy with it

Nice A/B, but a good comparison needs prices for both, after the Pinnacle is no longer a steal.

Great info. The PWT being thicker is a big pro since these are more likely to be used as portable pieces. One question I had about your PWT, does a small amount of water stay on top of the splash guard chamber?

Thanks @max, have edited my post with pricing info...

Yes a small amount, but less than with the f-BOMB.

Yea, the f-bomb is harder to completely empty out. Takes a bunch of shakes for me.

Does the f-bomb seem to get build up quicker than the PNWT ? Seems that way.

Nice pics/comparison, btw.

Great post, glad I was able to get my PNWT for 50$.. use it every day on all my vapes. It does feel really small and sturdy, I like the look of the F Bomb also but you can just tell the glass is not as thick.. and the MP for the PNWT is much thicker too.

Also the pong we get is a bonus with the PNWT.. A piece of silicone connected to your pong then to your PNWT is a perfect fit. (I use my pax like this)

Contact the yoyokid1 on ebay. He is an authorised reseller of VaporBlunt products and ships worldwide.

He may honour the discount code too.

Yes. He does honour the discount. You don't have to contact him or put in the code. I just put $50 in the Make an Offer tab. This was accepted. Shipping was $30 to Australia.

I'm just a little confused. If I have the Solo but don't have the 14mm Shorty GonG, or any "PVHEGonG High Efficiency GonG", and I purchase the PNWT, will I be able to use it? Or is the GonG an adapter?

EDIT: Sorry. Question was answered on page 767 of the Arizer Solo thread...apparently I do need the PVHEGonG

@reach The stock stem makes an "ok" connection to a 14mm joint. You might need a little something on the end of the stem(silicone tubing or something like that) to make the seal airtight. It will work but its not ideal IMO.

I ordered mine Saturday and got it the following Friday. It came from Porter Ranch CA and I'm in Boston MA.

I ordered a f-bomb last night, despite people's preference to the pinnacle. To me, the extra bit of diffusion and the bigger clouds is what I want.

Either way they both look very cool. I'll be matching mine with a HI and I'll be sure to get some pics up. I've seen the Pinnacle WT used with the HI in the past and it looked quite awesome.

Just ordered a $50 PNWT.

Anyone make a GoG stem that works with the old MrytleZaps? I was poking around on HI's website, and it looked like he may have the closest option..but all of his tubes/bowls seem too large for the Zap.
I'll have to do some measuring and get in touch with Alan.

Anyone else have any ideas? Maybe the stem will mate to the 14mm joint OK? I think that was a common thing in the 'Purple Days' days, wasn't it?

Anyway, thanks for the review and the info on this 'deal'!
