Just did my first run... nothing but clear 'tane in the pan

if you mean water hash, like bub, than the answer is totally. You can also buy these kits that use dry ice and shaking to separate the trichomes, and then you can run the kif through your extractor for mega yields.
I think I would only do this for use in a vape that required ultra pure stuff. I just use flowers for the best taste and high.
Hey cool, I didn't know that. Being the visual person I am:

I think they took a good look at their main competitor; the SSTB

Will the next one be made of SS perhaps? :p

They just came out with a glass model. Unlike other glass extractors it has a thread on end cap with small holes to increase pressure. Looks pretty nice.

That's how I started too, but I got sick of doing so many runs. Now I just throw 2 oz in the Queen bee, run 4 cans of tane through it, let it settle for an hour or so, heat it to 140 for about fifteen minutes and let it cool overnight. I get between 12 and 16 grams yield, and it lasts me about a month.
I never used a liquidizer though. I am curious about it. Do you add PG?

Personally I don't use PG. I simply love the kit though. About 1/4 at a time, UNATTENDED super fast tool for outdoor runs. I winterize after and use it in the cera. Sometimes I don't even winterize I just "wash" it in everclear and then I let it evap naturally and finally heat purge. Definitely killing the flavor but I want the purest extract I can make for now. I'm hoping to switch to CO2 if dispensaries have it when they open here.

I am not holding my breath for dispensaries in NH because it is at least a year or two away, and then it will be a weak setup where only the dispensaries can grow, in house. I like DIY anyway. Check this link out:
http://edenlabs.com/equipment/bench-top-units
Eden labs sells a co2 unit, but at $64,000.00 it's a little out of my price range.

I just ordered a Cera. I am super pumped to get it. Is clogging an issue with the EO cart? My stuff is pretty damn clean.

I've never had anything clog besides the mouthpiece when I over loaded it and made a mess. Just blew through the mouth piece and it cleared. Never had the actual cart clog.

We have the same laws here, only dispensaries can grow, but on the plus side the law states that ALL cannabis and concentrates need to undergo lab testing. Probably worth the premium for the variety and purity.

Wow, that seems like some great yield. Whats that about 25%?
Yeah, I find the Honey Bee series gives at least another gram or two than an open glass tube because of the back pressure. Also, I use top quality flowers.

what i mean is half ounce of Moroccan hash or similar quality.

You would probably only filter out a a gram or two of impurity from a half o of hash, and the half o of flowers would yield about 3.5 grams, for a total of around 16 - 18 grams (maybe a little more or less).
Again I have read about this, but I have not done it. The Queen bee would hold a half o of hash and almost two o's of bud at once if you wanted to.

I would toss that Moroccan hash in the sr-71!

would the half o moroccan hash and the half o of bud in the smaller one be more high quailty? as in the taste and high thc percentage and the color. also is it possible to just nothing but a whole ounce of moroccan into the regular size extractor?

I think flowers and light purging give a nicer flavor, because I like a weedy, floral taste. Heavily heat purged stuff tastes hashier. I would think hash hash oil would taste even less floral. Again, I prefer the fresher stuff, and unless you could get the hash for super cheap (or if the hash was real dirty), it might be cheapest to use nugs and toast the hash seperately. The potency is pretty standard, governed by the pore size of your filter. It is only the yield that would go up if you add hash.

what i need help is when you guys say cans, what kind are they? they have many different sizes o.O

300 ml = 10.1442 oz. They mostly sell the good stuff by the ml though.
oh I see. I use 4 cans per two oz of trees in the Queen bee. In a smaller unit I needed about one can per 1/4 oz of trees
with Hash you would use even less

Wow, Power 5x? Surprise to see you guys using that stuff, I hear all sorts of bad things about it and many people swear they have some sort of lubricant in it. I only use 'tane made by Keen Industries (Newport, Lucienne, anything labeled with that "near zero impurities" seems to be made by keen, plus it's made in england and not korea) and the cost is totally practical plus the 'tane is good quality with no weird smells or residue's left over.

Would you mind sharing your personal experience with Power 5x, Patrick Hughes? Always good to hear another perspective. :peace:

I have found it to be great, and just as good as Lucienne, vector, iolite or any of the others. No leavings on a mirror, great yields. Everyone has there own preferences, but you will know it for sure if you use something gross. I used an off brand once (and only once) and tossed about 3.5 g of tainted oil. It was too gross to use. I like the power though. 5 or 7 x, I can't notice a difference.
this thread has some great info. I used this when I was learning

yup, and clean some up for your supermelt units like persei and cera

No more persei for me. Strangely enough I got the persei just for the bender bud attachment. Sold the persei before I ever had any source of oil. I still don't have that much access to it, but I can get it when I want. Just not 100% convinced that anyone else's BHO is as clean as I'd like.

Well, this seems the place to ask it now. I have run a couple runs of butane, but went back to qwiso for safety and ease. Question is, are the returns on BHO that much more to justify the added complexity?

but you run your own with liquidizer right? I can get some, but mine is better and DIY costs me less, even with great flowers. Persei is my main unit, even though I despise the original carts. I use the SR-71 carts. Its not perfect. I am still looking for something truly portable. I have hopes for Cera.

I agree. I want to control quality, plus the little flavor tweaks I like.

CHeck out the link to the recipe I posted, and the Liquidizer setup Darkrom is talking about. It's not so tough. Im getting 20 - 28% returns

Patrick Hughes,

I do use the liquidizer, I just don't mix anything into my BHO or use their pen made for PG BHO mix.

I love the liquidizer setup. Spray and walk away.

No idea what my yields are since I don't really weigh before or after since its all for personal use.

Yeah, I have the tek down for both. I've done it both ways, but never bothered to measure. No offense, but Liquidizer looks like a lot of money for something that can be done diy for free(well, materials only).

I'll be making quite a bit in the next couiple weeks and the first 2 runs, I'll do one of each process and measure.

edit: @darkrom Yeah, that's why I never weighed also. Personal use.

The liquidizer is the only reason I ever started messing with butane. If it wasn't for the simple all in one kit I'd have never gotten away from everclear/iso washing.

I like not having to stand there and hold the can and breathe in all the gasses.
