Call me crazy but surely you can't get all that power out of a AA. The way I see it the battery tells you what the device consumes by its rating ie 1.2v @ 2800 mah meaning you can do volts multiplied by amps to give you the rated hourly wattage of 3.36 watts or 3.36w/h. Now with the power adapter I cant see them exceeding the same spec much as the herb would get toasted meaning that the rest of the 12w they quote is losses in the transformation process of the adapter itself and would agree with the 12v @ 1250mah written on the power adapter power brick totaling to 15w and having 3w slack as to not be working flat out.

So 12 watts used lets assume they add a slight boost and it supplies 4 watts to the box so it draws 12 watts @ 240v to make 4 watts @ 1.2v thats a 3 to 1 ratio or 33.3% efficient.

If you notice what paka says it states that the mflb operates by "shorting" the battery. AA nimh will surly give you that kind of power when shorting it out.

I lost my first MFLB back country snowboarding two years ago. I liked it a lot, but felt as though my box was calibrated too 'cool' and the old batteries didn't have enough juice to finish the bowl as much as I liked and I didn't have a click-lock lid. I saw a good deal on the flower of life laser etched pack with extra glyph batteries on vaporizers.ca and couldn't help but pull the plug. My flashvape has seen very, very little use in recent times due to it's size/form factor and having the sublimator around the house for that real tasty big hit. I'm hoping that I'll love the latest iteration of the magic-flight even more than my old one years ago. I'll let you guys know how I feel about it 'then and now' when it arrives in a couple weeks!

I vote that the folks from 13 different vaporizer threads, that are repeatedly
talking "Massdrop" use the chat room to try to talk friends into "voting"...
Either that, or create a new thread called the "Massdrop Thread"
Reasons:
1- It makes the manufacturers here on FC happier if we do not popularize "Massdrop" in a thread that potentially can send folks to their own website as a new or repeat customer.
2- Folks that come here to learn about specific vaporizers have to skip and move around the Massdrop links to find info about the vaporizer that the threads were meant to discuss.

I do not frequent all threads, but rather stop in here and there when I have reason.
Today a local patient was here to accept the donation of a LB from another member, so I brought them here to the MFLB thread to show them where their new "home thread" was... to be confronted by 4 posts in a row that were about Massdrop and not discussing MFLB.
It is not just in this thread, it is in others also.
Just my opinion, and I am entitled to it.

my mflb tastes funky. the space underneath the screen has become pretty resonated. has anyone found any solutions to this besides buying a new one? can anyone share experiences using the trays for hash oil/wax? with and without the power adapter?

I have a ti taper/stretcher from when I was still stretching my lobes, looks like a long cone that tapers straight on the non-pointy end (that's where it would be on the lobe to even the pressure.) I put it in carefully, pointy part in about as far as I want, holding it against the "floor" inside. Give it a pivot so it sweeps the floor and the stuff collects in there. I measured the length against the outside of the box to make sure I didn't insert it too far in and maybe mess with the led. I recommend being extremely careful as to not damage the screen. You can probably just use a toothpick instead , just be careful not to break it off inside haha.

Concentrate trays are pretty novel. Load a dab (or load a few trays at once to have some pre-loaded ready to go) and watch it vape. I recommend the power adapter, IMO using the new batteries will leave you wanting more power. With the power adapter, you can dial in the temperature more effectively as well as give it a constant rate. I personally use the one with the screen on it for A+ concentrates, winterized nug run oil when I can get it, otherwise for CO2 oil. Unscreened tray for everything else, bubble hash, hash, even bubbly melty kief. Pretty easy to clean them, torch to red for 5 seconds and let it cool.

Oh, and they work better if you spread your concentrate as much as possible. It's more efficient/effective to have more surface area compared to one glob of stuff.

Can someone please answer me this?

I've cleaned my box fairly well but when I put in a battery with nothing in the trench it smokes (produces smoke/vapour) constantly. I only really noticed this when using the CT recently but now its bugging me a bit. Is it just the accumulation of resin burning or should I try and clean the box more thouroughly? Does everyone else's box do this?

Thanks people. Peace

Funny you mention that, I was dry burning my box with the PA an hour or two ago. I would be surprised if we found a Box that had regular flower use that didn't do that. You're fine, it's not damaging it in any way that I know of.

Yes, mine does it.

recently just purchased some shatter. i do not have the concentrate trays, should i go ahead and buy the trays or is there an alternative method for using concentrates with my box.

I have the concentrate trays, and still occasionally vape wax and shatter the way I used to before the tray was invented.
I sandwich a small dab in a small piece of cotton, and I pinch it as flat as I can, and I throw it in and vape it.
My neighbor uses a piece of tin foil in his for shatter.
You can use these methods while you wait for your order to arrive!

I've been away from my ol' LB for a few months , and just went back.... oh boy!
I was using the PA while hitting it native, and the amount of temp control along
with the non-existent vapor path made for an eye opening and reddening experience
that was really unexpected.
Almost makes me want to throw all that other shit away..... not really.

my first box was warrantied because it would not stop smoking thick on its own.. even after countless burn offs over ten days or so.. it would smoke just as much, and the smoke was harsh and tasted like burning wood.. it was messing up my throat when i tried to vape out of it.. i suspect it was something to do w/ the homegrown??.. because i haven't had that problem w/ my new ones.. any way, i showed magic flight how bad it was and they said 'you cant use that', and sent me a new one.. i want to make it clear though.. it was thick ribbons of smoke.. more than the average burn off IMO.. i have not had that happen since.. i always kept that box as clean as my new ones too.

High guys,

its my first post in this thread

I'd like to know whats the best discharge rate for the glyph batteries, I mean do you use them till there is
no led light to see or do you vape a specific number of trenches?

I usually use them till I see no led light, so is the battery discharged completely at this point, what IIRC
could degrade it?

Any advice would be appreciated:clap:(Haywood, OF???)

Another thing that concerns me a bit is the warm up during charging, at the end they are almost too hot to touch, is this common?

When people burn off does the smoke/vape ever stop? I dry discharged two glyph batts the other day and it was still smoking (vaping) and it tasted a little rank.

Don't do that. It's not good for them at all.

It's not really an LED, even red LEDs need about 2.2 Volts to 'light' well, we're way way short of that. It's a light bulb, running very under rated. There's some thing like .75 Volts on the rails when running, they (there are at least 3 versions) are typically set up around 1.2 or 1.3 Volts which is why they're the color they are. It also means they're pretty crude in terms of resolution.

Deep discharge is usually fatal to NiMH batteries like these. Old school NiCDs were much better but not up to this job.

I recommend swapping them out when the power starts to drop. Don't push it. If a fresh battery improves it more than a little bit, go with it. Enough batteries are cheap enough, don't let a weak or slow box get in the way of your enjoyment?

"It depends". Doesn't it just always?

You're (hopefully) burning off the deposits of vapor on the cooler spots. If you let a lot build up, you've got a lot to burn off. If you haven't been good about curing your bud, you've put a lot of water in there as well and made a big old mess. You can go dozens of grams of well cured bud without problems or foul it out in a few trenches of soggy home grown.

One thing to consider, if stuff is burning off it's burning off. That is in theory it's getting cleaner?

Good luck. The best advice is keep it dry and stay ahead of heavy deposits.

Back during the beta test period, Magic Flight warned us not to totally deplete the Glyph batts.
We could keep them topped off for better reliability.
I found that the batts really dropped off quickly as they lost juice, so I would keep them charged up. I liked that feature as it insured great performance or none at all.
After 6 months of daily use the batts had trouble holding a good charge.
I bet if I had one of those digital high flatootin chargers my old batts would still be kicking.

Solod out.
I found an electronic cigarette with a subtle taste of tobaco, but no nicotine for 7$ at my local 24/7. So what i did is incorporate that into the vaping experience. I atttached a whip from the e-cig and now when I inhale i get like 30% water vapor and smooth as shit. I really recommend this to anyone who hasnt tried it. The high is so much nicer when ur not coughing ur lungs out.

TIP: You can adjust water vapor to THC vapor by poking needle sized holes in the e-cig whip.
