I ordered a set of Glyph batteries to go with my 3-yr old box. I did some searches but didn't turn anything up, with the glyph batteries should I put them through a break-in cycle first before use? I use the Maha C9000 charger.

Short tube is lovely: i wonder if one can get two of those from an original one...
Was thinking that even though the mflb crew has been investing a lot of time and efforts into arty boxes, different types of wood, a new power adapter and some other accessories, i would love to see a new product from them that gets rid of all the weaknesses of the mflb when its compared to others, like internal batteries, premium materials, and, well thats pretty much it, conserving all the basics and characteristics of the original, but just plain and simple better in the form of (just brainstorming here):
- thinner, more resistant glass cover, maybe using the same material as in the gorilla glass found in smartphones
-internal battery with a fancy, tiny and well hidden switch that turns it on and off, a button that triggers the oven and maybe a way of setting 2 or 3 different temperatures (do you really need the whole 180-220 spectrum?)
-thinner, sturdier, more resistant type of wood, some sort of premium type, maybe only wallnut or even darker types, as the like of the ones used by ed and his stems: this with the purpose of giving more space to the internal mechanisms and the battery.
-you name it, im sure there are better, more feasible options around there...

I just cant help but think that combining some vape technologies like, say, those of the pax (tiny battery with good juice), vapman (materials and craftsmanship) and some vaporizing modes (whip, balloon) with the help of some very well designed accessories, you might as well have the next big thing, and right in your pocket!

The market is already there waiting for new stuff to be launched in the market, people are already paying premium prices for vapes and the companies im naming (any of them by their own, let alone they working together) have the resources, the technology and the knowledge to do this, we just need to push them with the right ideas.

What do you say guys? Am i just a dreamer, or you think its possible?

I don't like shattering dreams, but...

A thinner cover would be more susceptible to breakage, especially if it were glass.

I think an internal battery would be a big step backwards. It would make the LB bigger. You would not be able to use it while charging.

Set temperatures would require a circuit board and seriously reduce the flexibility of the LB. One of my biggest issues with fixed temp devices is that they almost never allow for low temperatures.

I'm pretty sure that Magic-Flight chose the wood carefully. Maple is sturdy and I find it attractive. I doubt that the LB could be thinner or have much tighter tolerances.

The Pax does not have a tiny battery. It uses an 18650 which is actually a lot larger than the AA battery the LB uses.

Finally, about "the next big thing", I suggest you visit some of your local shops and ask them what's their biggest selling vapourizer. I've visited quite a few and I've yet to come across one that has answered anything but MFLB. Latest was West Side Vibes on Maui: "That thing sells like crazy!"

I agree that the magic flight needs some work
Why would you want to take away the uniqueness and simplicity of this design and make it into a much more expensive and 'me too' vape? I agree with paka's points 100%.

I've got quite a few portables, but still find myself still using the MF on a regular basis. It's quick and easy and a great example that you don't have to pay a lot to get top rate performance. It does have a learning curve and you have to pay attention to the process, but it gets the job done and will still be working long after feature laden models are collecting dust because the processor crapped out or the internal battery won't hold a charge anymore.

I usually get the feeling that the mflb would be the best vaporizer if it covered some open holes that have been left opened / have appeared with new vaporizer models. I think this box excels like no other in terms of stealthyness, swiftness and durability, but seeing so many features on the ZenPen in such a small ( and elegant ) form factor made me wonder If my favorite vape could be transformed into something better. Your answers indicate that this is doable, but probably very complex and with more cons than pros.
Still waiting for my new box… hope it doesn't land in customs.

It was made four years ago. A LOT has changed in the past year, nevermind the past four. MF is undoubtedly working on something to sustain them.

It's not fair to compare the MFLB to a vape that doesn't really exist outside of advertisements. The greatest thing about the box is that it's yet to be obsolete. The design is the best among the rest. Other vaporizers should take note of why the MFLB is still competitive: Sometimes less is more.

I enjoy my lifetime warranty also. Which a lot of electronic vaporizers cannot do because they aren't made to last you too long. My MFLB will ALWAYS work and will keep getting better as long as battery technology keeps moving forward.

Theres no better device for me to determine the quality of the flowers I receive. Crappy flowers tend to vape more quickly with a lesser high. While great bud can be pushed for even days for it's "nutrients" :-)

i don't know, if it's really necessary. the box is fast, easy to maintain and easy to replace . it could end up not being the same reliable device, if cramped up with fancy electronics. the purchase price will rise, the replacement policy will probably change and we might loose most of the aspects we love about it. the box is the ak-47 of vaporizers. simple, sturdy, affordable, efficient and still successfull despite all the high tech portable vapes. it's probably not perfect, but what portable really is? let's not forget, that the pa, the wpw and the concentrate trays turn the box into a really versatile beast. :)

I think it's probably worth pointing out that MFLB is a very refined design. Some might not know, for instance, that there was a predecessor product, the Magic Flight Launch Tube? The box, itself, got a change in the wood used for the standard version, changes in the airflow control, addition of features like the o-ring, lid latch, light bulb (several versions) and other changes in the construction along the way. We're also on the third (?) version of batteries.

It's not perfect, of course, but MF seems very interested in improving the box for our more complete satisfaction. IMO MF is a clear industry leader in the area of ongoing improvements. Most other makers could benefit from following their examples I think in terms of being responsive to customers, commitment to Customer Support, innovation, careful Beta Testing and so on. IMO MF is a clear standout as are their products.

Lol ive dropped my MFLB into an Ice fishin hole once, try doing that with another portable and see what happens.

Generally DR is our guy in water testing vapes, good show you're taking part of that load.....many feel he needs help.......

Among all my units, the box is the key of conservative consumption. Lol, when i stick to it and not cheat on her with other devices.

I confirm that all attachements such as FG, PA, Wpa and CT turns it into wow land! Always in my heart.

fact: i identify a point when, by shaking, the load (fresh flowers+FG) forms a hard pellet into the trench and vapes tremendously. Smbdy noticed it?

I must confess I wasn't taking into account all the iterations that the box has gone through. It's simplicity and versatility are surely very strong points when compared to other vapes.

Anyone try out the mini bubbler on the magic flight website?

Yes, it is the same as what is commonly known around here as the infamous bubbler. IMO, it is the perfect piece of glass for the box. Perfect size and just enough diffusion to cool the vapor down without much flavor loss.

EDIT:Here it is for cheaper

You don't get the 14>18 reducer but you do get a nifty GonG that fits perfectly into any whip from MF.

Oh wow I wished I knew this about 2 hours ago before placing my order and payed 20$ shipping to canada, that little gong piece would also save me another 30$ on a wpw...

Firstly can i just say this thread is a goldmine and i love my mflb.

Anywho... Does anyone know if there's any uk stockists with the infamous bubbler? I've had a look but no joy and my usual mflb accessories shop says I'd have to pay postage because they can't get one from Mflb uk.

Cheers
