The Dr Dabber Pen

Hey mvapes, thanks for the exposure on this device. I hope it has more going for it than the wax-t dome and atomizer set up. I enjoyed that gear while it lasted, the glass dome is very fragile and the coil fouled out very quickly. This vape looks just like the Dabbler aside from the deeper well. I fear that we are being misled with low priced e-cig products, no offense intended or implied to the manufacturer. Time and user review will tell the tale.....

Still waiting on the nudies.......

I'm going to try and get a better one but from looking at yours it's at least double that.

Hey Meph - no offense taken, when I ask Dr Dabber what the dome was he actually said it was more of a collector's piece thanking me for the introduction to FC. He said they had something much better up their sleeve for the vaporyst market.... Personally I just like bulbous objects...

Thanks mvapes. Looking very much forward to some video. Please include if you can some of you hitting it w/o the dome. Speaking of which, I didn't know that DD was selling these too.

I reckon I'll be making the leap once I've seen some good video action.

I'd also like to hear about DD's previous experience was before becoming a Ghost as chilldude stated "...what has been your past experience with designing and manufacturing vape pens? Your website basically says nothing about you or your company." - safety claims ...

EDIT: ah got it the dome's a collector piece and more to come.

Dr. dabber,

Just wondering, what has been your past experience with designing and manufacturing vape pens? Your website basically says nothing about you or your company.

This pen definitely sounds interesting.....

Hey Chill Dude, This is our first vape pen company and I have no prior experience with designing pens. However I have been a part of the "Target Market" for over a decade and I made this concentrate pen based how I would want a concentrate pen to perform. We have consulting from some of the smartest people in the Industry. We have a R&D team that is working around the clock to come up with new products and constantly staying ahead of the curve.

Thanks for the reply Doctor. As you are aware, health and safety are the #1 concern of most FC members. Especially regarding quality and heat safety of materials in or around the the heater and air path. Not that you have to address that issue now. Just saying that issue will come up eventually and it's an important one to address early on. The pen looks awesome can't wait to see some videos.....

Forgive me, forgot to include footage of the oil slick ball it comes with and the tool. I'll hook it up later.

EDIT - I have loaded this fucker with .2, the same exact load I use for the Cera. NO FUCKING LEAKAGE! We may have a winner guys!

Ugh another vape I want! Is it an "oil slick" ball they are including or is it a similar product made by them?

Thanks mvapes, nice intro to this pen. I like that recessed coil. The hits didn't look that big, but you're new to the pen, lighting, etc.

EDIT: Dr.Dabbler - any possibility of beta globes available, at a price, if one orders this pen soon (i.e. prior to the globe's launch)?

EDIT2:

Ha ha, hi Mynameismud. My being torn between the Dabbler and this Ghost is preventing me from getting either.

It is made by us. We call it the Dr.Dabber "Shatterproof" Ball
Awesome! How much does it hold approx? And any plans on selling it by itself or only packaged with the pen?

Also is there an expected shelf life for the coils? What about cleaning them? I know the dabbler coils can handle iso but with the black ones that are coated with the rubbery material similar to atmos the iso would peel off the coating. So even if the dr dabber coil can handle iso, would it be a concern with the coating since the coil is lower?

Also is it safe to carry in a pocket when assembled? I know the dabblers had issues with snapping off when stored fully assembled? Could that be an issue?

I would say the average coil life is anywhere from 6-12 weeks depending on usage. They can be cleaned with Iso as well, but with our lower coil there isn't much left to clean. As for the the balls, they will be offered in our full store once that gets up in about 2 weeks. For now 1 comes in the package and I will throw in an extra one for every order as well as the free coil.

And the ball holds about 1-2 g's depending on the on the type of concentrate. We will be offering different sizes and shapes as well very soon.

Thanks for the info @Dr.Dabber . I guess its not too much of a concern with the lower coil, but if i do soak it in iso and the iso is in contact with the black outside is there a chance of it peeling. Just curious because my black dabbler peeled when i had about 1 mm of the black part right above the threads saoking in iso for about ten minutes...

Also what about carrying it assembled in a pocket, is there a chance of the heater snapping off?

Good to hear you can use ISO to clean the coil. Are those balls airtight? In other words, will they keep yor concentrate fresh for 5 or 6 weeks, or would you need to place the balls in mason jars for added protection?

I'd like to hear more about the quality and safety of the materials used in the Dr. dabber. So far you mentioned titanium coils, and I'd assume a high grade ceramic bowl in the heater. What other materials were used which would be in the vapor path or subjected to heat? Any plastic, rubber, silicne or glue that we need to be concerned with? Because, as you say this is your first venture into vapor manufacturing, we want to make sure the unit is safe, reliable, works well, is easy to maintain and that appropriate materials were used in the device.

I mean even manufacturers with loads of experience have recently brought products to market that had loads of problems... Ie. Davinci's Ascent and the Inhalater XP to name a couple. Thanks..

Mvapes says he packed .2 grams of concentrate on the coil and it worked well. Do you think the unit works well with both large and small dabs, or is one better than the other?

Although I agree ChillD - there's a big difference in what is going on with the Ascent and what issue's hit the Inhalator. There's also a big difference in the mechanics of a floral vaporizer versus a pen.

Now, I'm fucking 100% all about safety but I have to ask, what are you exactly referring to as far materials.

You have wick, a coil, and battery. Your product is contained to a ceramic cup in it's entirety. There's almost zero air path for anything to cause a health related issue unless of course the mouthpiece is made of asbestos so please pardon my confusion.

And again, maybe I'm missing something and if I am please help me. :hmm:

Well, I think you're probably right mvapes, comparing the materials in a flower vape versus a pen is like comparing apples and oranges I guess. You are correct that a pen vapes are generally pretty simplistic designs. That said, some cheaper pen vapes have silicone or rubber gaskets in the cone area which connects to the mouthpiece or where the heater attatches to the battery chamber. I don't have a Dr. Dabbler in front of me so that's why I asked the question about materials. I know the wick is probably fiberglass, the coil will be titanium, the bowl is probably a solid grade of heat resistant ceramic and the mouthpiece is probably some sort of plastic. The rest of the unit is probably just metal, threads and metal sleeves. I just wanted to make sure there are no additional materials that we need to be concered about.

BTW, thanks for the video and bringing Dr. Dabber to FC....

There are no additional materials you need to be concerned about, as you can see we didn't cut any corners with our product, and we are constantly looking for ways to make it better. I understand about your concern with the health issues. We take all steps and precautions necessary to make sure the consumer ends up with a safe product. My mom always wanted a Doctor.. now she's got one ;)
Also i do really appreciate the great review mvapes!
