Discontinued Gn0me - lighter based vaporizers

Hey guys, just wondering how long did it take for you to get your gn0mes after ordering them? It's been a month and honestly if I knew it would have taken this long I probably wouldn't have gotten one.

Has there been any communication in that month?

If you went through paypal, you have until 45 days to get them involved. If it was me I would request a refund from Gnome, and if you don't get a response in 48 hours start a paypal dispute for non-delivery.

If you used a credit card you may be able open the same kind of dispute with the issuer.

grokit,
Thanks for the info grokit. I've started a dispute with paypal, but I doubt this is going anywhere. I've probably just lost $40 lol. What I don't understand is that everyone here says Calen has amazing customer service and is a overall nice guy... It's possible that he's on vacation or something but still.

The delivery of my Gn0mes took quite awhile. I think it was about 6 weeks. I had zero communication with Calen during that time. Actually, I forgot that I had ordered them.

If you read carefully you would have also read that this is not a new problem. Although Calen IS a nice guy and treats his costumers well, he's not very good with the comunication bit and most times he takes a long time to answer emails and he usually doesn't even say when he sends the gn0me to your house.

With that said, he never left me with no money and no gn0me.

If you don't want to wait, i understand. But i highly doubt he'll stood you up.

Deadshort's experience is what you should expect. Textbook Calen if you ask me. ;)

I'm just speaking in general as far as how paypal's buyer protections work. I have no experience with Gnome good or bad. Hopefully if you email your concerns you'll get a re-assuring response.

grokit,
If you already filed a dispute you will have to reorder. Because paypal WILL give you your money back and go after the seller.

VapeNStone,
It doesn't say anything like that on the paypal website. It says that if your dispute isn't resolved in a certain period of time you can apply for a claim, which is when they will decide whether you get your money back or not.

BryanThevanayagam,
If you pay through paypal and don't gift it then you WILL get your money back. Most likely if you filed the dispute already it's already in motion so you might have fucked yourself unfortunately, which is why I said you might have to reorder.

If he refunds you could always re-pay for the piece once its ready to be sent

grokit,
I don't know where to show you all I know is when you use paypal if you file a claim you always get your money back if it wasn't a gift. If you gifted it to avoid fees then you most likely won't be getting anything back. But I doubt Calen is in this to fuck over the customer. You do realize he blows these himself as he gets the order? I'm surprised it doesn't take longer then 6 weeks.

Gammy's getting upset!
Let's talk about life expectancy of the Cones. Has anyone else's broke just by heating it? I've now got 3 broken Cones and if I can admit to one break being my fault, the other 2 just broke by themselves. Maybe this is normal? Should we consider them to be a temporary thing, like filters on a water jug?

However, the last one that broke left a good chunk of the heating area with the joint so I tried heating it and it still works. Actually, it works even better in the sense that I can't seem to overheat. Even heating for a minute will leave me with perfectly toasted abv!

My one in use slider is still going strong. No cracks or breaks. Maybe it has something to do with the wider diameter of the cone?

I had a slider breaking mid heating so expect these things have An expiration date, mine lasted six months before breaking but i was using it a lot.

This one has at least 7 months, maybe more and my New cone as well so it depends on how often you use them and let it cool naturaly and dont place it in a coLd surface when hot.

Lemme get this straight; the gnome requires replacement every six months or so, and you need to order at least six weeks ahead of time in anticipation of this. That's dedication!

I don't believe these have a shelf life. I believe that breakages are user error. Heating too high above or too low below the actual heating area may cause problems. Heating the glass to too high of a heat may also cause problems.

I don't think it requires a replacement every 6 months, i think you will eventually need a replacement.

Deadshort, just the fact that you heat and cool the glass repeatedly can cause breakage. how to minimize this is problably related to what you said.

I forgot how nice this little thing is. :D :freak:

Same here :D

after not using it for a while, i've been gong-gnoming the last couple of days, and if used right this little thing is giving me the best hits of them all!

taste is better than with the cloud (or solo, or herbo, only vrip is on par imho), hits are just as big as hits with the cloud, it's strictly 100% convection (even the cloud has a bit of radiation/conduction going on), it can be used with small amounts of herb... so simple and yet so genius...

thank you calen for introducing the gnomes!

btw i have had my gnomes for about a year now, no cracking/breaking yet and i'm using a big kitchen-torch.

I'll have to check out the new funnel-gnome, the only disadvantage the old gong-gnome has is the uneven raost and that would be completely solved with the new design...

Hey ya'll! Been reading through this thread and am quite interested in the herbal vaporization this lil thin can deliver! I have a more sensitive throat than most (inflammation) and am always concerned about the heat and "punch" of the vapor im consuming. This piece appealed to me due to its GonG style (no toxic china metal fumes!) and of course hit size. Now, i know that people can definite control hit size via how long its heated for....but overall would ya'll say it has a harsh/hot hot vapor?
