Unless money is a super-tight issue, get the glyph batteries. You won't be sorry. They

Anyone else hit right outta the box (without any straw)? I broke my glass one recently and have been doing it ever since, I think I might continue - there's certainly a stealth benefit in doing it this way!

I do it all the time! I think you get the best "control" this way. I hit it with the straw, too, as well as through water, so I like to mix it up. On the road, "native" is the only way to fly.

Yes its termed Hitting it Native , sorta the way it was at first meant to be used .

Native... I like that :)

The launch box was my only vape for about 6 months, and this was the only way I hit it. I feel like there are slight flavor benefits due to the shortened airpath. Lol I miss my launch box- I need to get a new one (So sad my friend lost my original one). Or maybe I will receive one for my birthday :party::party: in about 2 weeks.

P.S. I'm an idiot... there IS a Flower of Life launch box... now I need one for my best friend

I only used it native (I had stems) until I got a walnut box and stem . Now I'm stuck on the stem .

I do both but recently have found it easier to use a shorty stem. Sometimes I'll switch to the glass one for weeks and then abruptly go back to native for no real reason.

As guys have said, we call it 'hitting it native'. If you enter the term in search you'll get like 200 posts of guys talking about it, mostly saying they like it. So, yeah, it's common enough.

One of the long term problems that can crop up is the box getting 'gunked up' with saliva and dead stuff from your mouth. This can also trap moisture and degrade the wood (or so as been reported). I find a couple coats of good paste wax prevents this, protecting the wood and making it easy to wipe clean in use. Some guys use butcher block oil I think? I also think one fellow said he used lip balm??

Anyway, I too don't use the stems.....except in public, when everyone gets their own.....

i use Burt's Beeswax.. i thought you told me about that OF? mighta been some one else.. i forget... but it works nice.. it has coconut oil and bees wax so its like a 2 in 1.

I think I might actually be innocent.....this time. Maybe it's you I recall? Anyway, bees wax should be cool. I like harder wax (lots of carnuba) so you don't have to apply it as often.

Thanks.

ya it must have been me then... i think what happened was at some point you mentioned that beeswax worked.. just not as good as the harder wax.. and i had Burt's Beeswax chap stick right next to me.. so i checked the ingredients and there was pretty much just coconut oil and beeswax.. so that's what i have been using since.

I might have mentioned Burt's. I'm a fan of it and my first box (which saw the most native use) had a nice coating of it on the business-end. Might give my new one a quick shine with it, just in case.

Stem for comfort, native for stealth.

Just wanted to say that I have had my Launch Box for around - what? - 3 years now, and it is my "Go To" vape. I do use my Myrtlezap sometimes as well, but more often than not I use the MFLB.

I tend to use it more simply because it's portable.

So after 3 years I have some comments to make:

* This thing is awesome! If you are considering getting it, stop considering and just do it. You will not regret it. This is an elegantly designed, well made unit that does what it is supposed to, time after time after time.

* I use it at movie theaters and concerts (usually in the bathroom stall just to be safe) or in the car (parked just before getting out) or when walking down the street, in a park, at the beach, etc. (This is California after all. I could probably be much more open than I am but I believe in being discreet and not taking risks.)

*I usually use mine with a length or silicon tubing attached, or if I'm taking it out in public I go "naked" without any stem or tubing.

*But here's the real reason I wanted to post in this thread:
If you do not have one of the little rubber cushions that keeps the battery from accidentally heating up the herb when you don't want it to (in your pocket or otherwise), you MUST GET ONE IMMEDIATELY!

I bought a couple of these just recently and I can't tell you how great it is to not have to worry about accidentally setting my pocket on fire, or - god forbid - the house. One day I found my MFLB under some papers on my desk getting very very hot. Luckily I smelled it and put it out before it caused a fire!

So for a buck or two you can get a couple of these little O rings that will keep you from accidentally burning through your pocket to your leg or etc. and they're really cool little accessories!

Friends who want to get into vaping always ask me "What's the best vape?" and I always tell them the Magic Flight Launch Box for portable and the Myrtlezap for desktop/tabletop. (But of course now Myrtlezap is out of business at least for now, so that leaves the LB.

Oh, and:

*Awesome customer service!

Agree with everything you've posted , except for the cushion rings . jmo

I thought it was standard that all mflb , came with the cushion rings in them .
But I remove them on purpose , I find that I get better performance without them .
Now I'm speaking with batts only .
And I've never combusted anymore , even when the batts are making contact for 2 to 3 min. straight .
I can get 5 to 7 straight hits , than I can be off to where I'm going .

idk why , I used to occasionally combust with the cushion rings in the mflb .
But no combustion without them , even when the batts are making contact longer .

Anybody else have the same experience ?

I only hit native, I believe if you use a stem you lose precious vapour that condenses on the stem.

Are you getting that type of performance on the brand new glyph batteries? Age and use affects how the batteries operate for users. Some of mine are older so I can hold them on longer than the newer ones.
