I'm gonna go ahead and start talking about this thing and leave the above post for the text trvb wants in the OP.

I got my unit in two days ago and really like what they have done. The shell is the exact same one as used for the original Pinnacle. The only cosmetic difference is the darker PonG and the button/light display.

The display is much better than the original. It now has five vertically aligned lights that do a great job of communicating with the user. One button push turns it on. Successive button pushes cycle through the five heat settings (370, 395, 420, 445, 470). The buttons change color depending on the temp you selected. Temp 1 is blue, 2 is green, 3 is yellow, 4 is orange and 5 is red. This may be the first portable that has light/button communications that OF will appreciate. If you want temp 3, you push it three times and the lights turn yellow. Then they scroll up (lighted in yellow) repeatedly until it hits temp (if you pick temp 2, all the lights will be green, etc). So you can instantly tell what temp you have selected and what it is warming up to with either the number of lights lit or the color they use. Heat up time is fast. The upper temp is above the upper limit we need for flowers and is only for oils. Also, the button is protected by a small, raised ridge around it that keeps it from being turned on with anything less than a direct, intentional hit. I will no longer worry about it turning on unintentionally.

The lowest temp is the smoothest with the lightest vapor to see, but has its effect. The second temp is thicker and starts to irritate me a little, as all my portables do when they get this hot...so I know it's working. With the third temp and up I use it exclusively with the WT, which I absolutely love. It reduces the visible vapor on exhale as well as soothes the hits. On the upper two temps I get visible vapor that is satisfying to the cloud chaser in me.

It appears to me as though trvb listened to us and listened well. The Pro has improved on just about every aspect of the original in a way that I think makes it worth the upgrade. I haven't tested it yet, but it is supposed to work while charging as well. This, coupled with the added temps, protected button and improved light communication make it a great unit, especially at its price point.

The only thing that hasn't been improved, as far as I can tell, is the mouthpiece. Crohnie says his is better, but mine appears to be the same as the previous and doesn't feel any more secure to me. It makes sense given they have to use the same molds due to the price to make them. trvb may end up correcting me on this, but I don't see a difference yet with the mouthpieces. I am using the PonG exclusively, as always.

Question away and Crohnie and I will do our best to answer. So far, I really like this thing and used it exclusively yesterday while at home with all my other vapes.

Sounds awesome, Sticks! I've been waiting for this. Do you know if it is still the same battery? If this thing could last 5-6 sessions I'll be sold over the Ascent and XP right here and now.

Edited: Gave Tweek credit when it was due to Sticks. He sure did jump on it fast though... :p

Also just read in the other thread that the battery is the same as the old one. Shucks.

I haven't given it a full discharge yet...I'm the type to keep it topped off. Yesterday I got in three sessions (a session being until the battery auto turns off) and I think it still had 3 of the 5 lights lit for the battery indicator. I believe the batts are the same, but I don't know.

I thought I remembered you being the one who was concerned about the color blind and reading the temp displays. Read the third paragraph of my post above if I am right about it being you.

Doesn't change my statements. I still haven't seen it so can't comment on it being effective for color blind folks. And even that would be pretty subjective since were not all the same......

FWIW I had no problem with the VB since it doesn't require you tell the difference like guys that go cheap with indicators like Puffit. There's a world of difference between a vape that depends on the user's ability to read the color to know what it's doing and take full advantage of it's features and one where it's just a convenience or a bit of bling.

While from your description I'd prefer the VB system where color doesn't matter, I suspect it's fine for women and the 87% of the men with 'normal color vision'.....in fact kind of fun? I can count button presses and pay attention to know if it's red or green.....unlike with some vapes.

Again, thanks for asking, but I have no better answer......or I'd give it.

Beats me, never seen one or even a picture of one. I guess it's yet another memo I didn't get?

Thanks for asking, though.

Ive been pretty tight lipped with this one. This is really the longest I've ever waited to release a product, but I think our team made a lot of the improvements that the consumer asked for.

The OP will be up as soon as I get the pics uploaded, prob 15 minutes. Than I will help answer any questions.

Nicee! cant wait for it to come out and get some reviews out there.... I really did like the OG PN and now we got higher temps! The look of the PN alone was one of my favorites out of my vapes , unfortunately I am a "high temp" user and this really looks to fill my needs.. The OIL sounds dope as hell too.

Cant wait to see some vids? Soon?

What, colour-blind people can't count?

So you can instantly tell what temp you have selected and what it is warming up to with either the number of lights lit or the color they use.

Yes, we can count here, that was my point. But counting does no good with schemes like Puffit....which was also a point I was trying to make......

Yes, but sticks was talking about the Pinnacle Pro not another device. He asked for your opinion of the system it uses. You said:

I still haven't seen it so can't comment on it being effective for color blind folks.

I don't understand why you need to see it to comment on a scheme that uses the number of lights as well as the colour. That was my point.

Great video, good point. I didn't either.

Which one are you?

I don't understand why you need to see it to comment on a scheme that uses the number of lights as well as the colour. That was my point.

You're not taking into consideration my next sentence perhaps? "And even that would be pretty subjective since were not all the same......"

What that means is I can't say how effective the choice of colors is in conveying useful information until I actually see the colors being used and even then it will be subjective since it's based on my degree of color blindness. It does use color to convey information, how effective that is I don't know.

Make sense now?

This does look more inviting with those temp settings even though I don't see myself using the two highest .
If the PNs high temp had been 405 -420F I would have one. So maybe the pro ? I'll keep watchin' .

Pretty sure I wasn't alone in wishing that it had at least one or two lower settings, say 355 and 340, 320 even better. There are a lot of low temperature enthusiasts out there and it seems weird that manufacturers (not just VaporBLUNT) routinely ignore them.

True Paka it seems to goes both ways . I use low for nausea and appetite 330-360F , higher 405-420F for pain . A lot of vapes miss them both .
