Gear Health Stone Glass - Vapor Slides

**just wanted to add... the glass VG top does not fit into the new HS pipe I just got. So anyone attempting to do my HS/VG mod, please be aware, the HS is hand made, so each will be slightly different. I can say that the low profile reducer I got from ebay does fit the second HS pipe ( fits both actually )

I just don't want someone to get the parts together and get mad at me if they don't fit well. So far the ebay reducer is a little longer than I'd like by maybe 1/4" or so, but it works on both style pipes, and that is a great price. Both of the ones I got look identical, so I am assuming they are mass produced this way.

spacific questions here.

is the VG "filter" 14mm basically?

is the glass sherlock VG basically just a fancy 18mm j hook with a 18/14 lo-pro reducer in it that holds the filter?

is the health "stone" basically 18mm or some other odd size? i realize they will vary slightly.

Gorgeous slime HSG handvape!! Love the sherlock design. I'm glad you are so happy with it! I do use mine for concentrates once in a while, but prefer to use the herb mod with mine.

Here's a little show and tell of my recently growing collection all with the added 14/18 reducer herb vape mod (in this photo) I have had good luck with these reducers fitting the different healthstones. Each HSG hand vape is unique and not all of my reducers have worked with various bowls accept for these:

so far they fit all of my HSG vapes.I've added a small bit of silicone to the exposed portion of the reducer to make a heat guard for easier removal. I like to stir between hits so the center doesn't get scorched. I've been getting excellent results with this vape mod. Another thing that is cool about this mod is you can still put concentrates on the stone before you heat it, and do a double decker...

Just took a hit off my intercooled health stone hand vape since I'm out and about. I have a slide too but I prefer my ti nail or hot hit slide over using the health stone slide.

Why do you like everything else you have over the HS? I don't have one and don't really plan on spending money on it since I have an oil rig as well as my oil pen, so I'm covered there... there's a few oil pens that work well which might be worth a look (I'm looking at you, VaporBros Dabbler...)

Because your blasting a torch directly at your dab. I prefer butane free.

Plus it truly takes skill to hit a health stone without combusting your dab so its not the best to pass around to new users unless you don't care what their dab tastes like.

Finally if you hit the health stone correctly (not combusting) you will have build up on bottom of the stone that accumulates and if you dont pull the health stone out every 5 - 10 hits and torch it to burn off the residue it starts tasting like ass.

Other than that they are cool. You can take big ass dabs off of them.

For taste the hot hit is where its at

Really? The way I learned how to use one is not to angle the jet lighter directly at the oil, but rather keep it above and horizontal so when you suck, the hot air flows through the HS and vaporizes the oil via hot air (convection almost entirely I assume), not directly hitting it with the flame.

Anyways the other points are reasonable.... but why not just add less oil and dab it in one go? Or is that what you're doing?

Definitely not coming close to hitting it with flame or your combusting.

And I do just do a dab at a time but the residue still builds up. Its the same as the residue in a ti nail after a hit but you burn it out of the ti nail next time you go to take a hit.

These guys have some decent insight on how to use it.

I've had two health stones. One cracked because I used to use too big of a torch. The other, a 14 mm male claim catcher, has completely replaced my domeless ti nail. I created an account just now because I was sick of reasing misinformation about one of my favorite products.

If you are clogging your healthstone and/or getting bad tastes out of it you are doing something wrong related to your lighting. Do not let the flame touch the stone, just give it enough heat to vaporize, any more and soot forms in the stone. Other bad tastes could come from your butane.

If you're using this product properly, and you are properly informed of all the hazards and issues with any form of dabbing, you would understand that it's the safest, easiest, most efficient, and most flavor preserving of any technique. I've got a 14mm frosted female slide, first thing I noticed is it doubles as an 18-14 F2F adapter, bonus! @jambandphan03 do you still use yours, how many hand pipes do you have left? Really surprised this thread has been buried for a year and a half!

I mainly use my HS hand pipe as an herb vape (similar to how the glass VG works with the stone placed inside a reducer on top, and a VG support ring and screen suspended in the pipe to hold the flowers), never really used it much for concentrates as I usually don't have much of that around, and when I do, I use it very sparingly so I don't ruin my tollerence levels for flowers. I am down to just one HS pipe now, but it works really well this way, I got rid of the side car style because I found them not to be so pocket friendly and I just had way too many there for a bit.
