Just got my third mflb (love the walnut). Oldest is for concentrates, middle child is for outdoor events, and the new one is for indoor events.

New batteries are way more powerful.

Between the mflbs and the SSV, I'm pretty set and cured of collecting glass pipes.

Just scored an MFLB real cheap on eBay. I was looking for something cheap I could take to the casino and was just gonna get one of the knockoffs until I seen I could have a real one for like 20 more. I already have a solo so I doubt it will knock my socks off but I cant wait to try it.

Ok, I know that the answer to my question is buried somewhere in this thread but I'm too damn lazy to find it so...........who makes the new batts and what is the mAh rating and are they still AA?

Custom-made for MF, I believe around 2400mAh and yes still AA and still fine in your stock charger.

You forgot to mention...the new Glyph batts walk on water, eat bullets and S*$@ ice cream as well.

@themosthigh - check out the MFLB site and put in a ticket to see if your serial # is valid when you receive your box.

what's the verdict on the concentrate trays?

thanks

-Definitely worth the price and they work with clean concentrates (bubble works as well but requires some cleanup)
-Works best with power adapter, will function well enough for use with Glyph batteries
-Need to use at least the 1-ft whip for a cool hit, a water tool is recommended (although I still run naked on the go)
-Be very careful not to shake the box!

Oh....and don't forget to post right after you use it the first time.

thank you, i really appreciate the summary

one more question if you don't mind, is it secure enough in there you could get it ready to rock and put it in your pocket or bag to use later?

edit i see the magic flight website is also selling the vapman now, that's cool!

double edit: i better be hide my wallet, that finishing grinder looks sweet, been trying not to spend money...

How much smell is there with one of these? I imagine breaking up the herb to be the smelliest part?

the vapor def has a smell, and box develops a smell when it gets dirty. are you meaning compared to other vapes? the hits are generally smaller with the mflb then with a desktop like dbv for example so I would think it would be less smelly by that amount. whips can get pretty smelly too.

there are many variables of course with the smell being detectable. small door closed room with no air exchange will hold the smell longer then outdoors on a windy day.

I have read comments on some MFLB threads (on a different forum) suggesting it has no smell and heck use it anywhere, followed by got busted by my parents posts...

There are two versions of the CT, one for clean melts and one for umm... the rest. They both work well with the PA. The Magic-Flight batteries will work with them but they'll drain pretty quickly.

No matter how much I try to remember, I usually wind up shaking the Box.

For whatever reason I haven't got the non pad version to work all that well for me. I must be 'technique challenged' still.

I never shake very much, I always hear the rattle, say the same bad word and quickly check to make sure it's back upright in the right spot.

Then a hit or two later, I do it all over again. Telling yourself 'don't shake, don't shake' only works for a little while it seems.

That's so weird. I have been able to utilize both kinds of the concentrate trays. The one w/o the pad works best for my bubble hash. The ones with the pad work great with the oil I have. I haven't tried a wax, or any consistency like that yet, though.

The concentrate tray w/o the pad works great with Moroccan hash after a little practice. Cleaning is a small hassle but everything has a price. Dying to try other tray but don´t often get oil in this part of the world.
Will keep you posted.

I'm glad it works well for you, you're not alone I think, others have had good results (by their appraisal). I just can't get it to hold the proverbial candle to the LL Cera in this function. Not even close. Cera is easier to work (for me) and definitely produces way more vapor with better taste using the same concentrates.

It's a bit like taking a moped on a trip to a distant city when there's a Harley available. No offense to the moped, but having the Cera keeps me from getting along too well with the trays I think. A matter of degrees perhaps? I, personally, haven't been able to get the performance I want from the trays and concentrates I have. I have, however, made a mess with it several times trying so tend to shy away. Oil in the pad version doesn't have these drawbacks to me, the way I'm doing it now?

And again, others have different experiences, which is as it should be I think.

Up early, I see, OF... Glad to know I'm not alone...

I agree for the most part. Good oil goes in my DART, CO2 usually as well but I do like dropping a bit on the pad. The screen trays seem to shine with dry honeycomb. For some reason my DART likes that consistency the least. Oil, shatter, wax, all fine, except for the dry honeycomb... Melted right into the screen on the tray and hit well. It can produce a nice punch but I find the experience better with my DART.

As for bubble hash, since I no longer have the Evolution, I either mix some into the trench and vape carefully, or if it's high-quality I put it on the bare tray and vape away. I have it hooked up to a water path with the whip gong so it is easy to see how fast or slow to draw based on vapor production.

I had a bit of trouble with the shaking too, but quickly got over it by either setting my hand with the Box in it on my desk, or by watching the tray and only otherwise looking at the chamber to see how thick it is. Seems to have helped break my shake habit.

I just contacted magic flight a few minutes ago on their website regarding my dead power adapter and received a confirmation email a moment later. I'll let everyone know how the situation turns out.

My logo batteries. I longer fit very snugly. In fact, there pretty loose now, so much so they can slip out. First report of "negative" banana clip problems?

You lost me here, Bro. No 'banana clip' on the battery, that's a feature on the new PA.....

And there are no banana clips anyway, there are banana plugs.....clips are different than plugs, an unimportant but real detail. But the new batteries are a solid cylinder like all the rest, I would expect them to fit the ring like all others (exact size not withstanding). The ring still doesn't change size (what the banan plug design is addressing.

I can't consider this a fault with the new battery.
