Very true OF, my 3yr. old box has a screen that has a black
baked on coating that is impossible to get rid of, however the
taste and performance have remained acceptable IMO.
I like the well used, much loved look. :ko:

Now I dry and grind my herb to death.

Especially, and more so if you vape bubble hash on a regular basis.

So very true. But it has it's compensations.....it might kill the box off young with kindness and all, but what at way to go!

Sacrifices must be made sometimes.

I've recently had an issue with my MFLB, the screen has blued, which didn't trouble me, however the screen is now bubbled up and flexs. Any thoughts on what could've happened? I quit using it due to safety concerns only because the actual screen deformed.

No idea :s What were you vaping in it? Were you using the concentrate trays? Mind posting a picture on here? I'm curious.

The screen discoloring is normal, it was more apparent in the "old" screens like the one I had on my pre-click lock rubber band Box. Comparing #2 to #3, 3 looks newer (because it is) but the discoloration isn't as pronounced. They've all worked well regardless of the discoloration, although I feel that the new ones are running a little warmer.

Anyways time to start filling out the form on the warranty page ;) have a piece of paper and a pen handy.

It's a little over two year old model but it has the click lock lid. Only flowers have been vaped, no concentrates or anything funky.

It's raised and bubbled where the dark brown circle is in the discolored section.

I have seen boxes that looked like that...
they still functioned well though.
I would clean the rods.. things always heats more efficiently
when the rods are free of debris.
(be gentle but firm with them)
I use qtips with 91% Iso.. and I rub the bars.

The bubble in the screen is negligible? Don't worry about it?

For clarification the bubble is on the bottom of the trench.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but are the glyph batteries suppose to get hotter while charging then the previous batteries from MF? Iv noticed they are pretty hot when they are done charging. So hot that I can feel a little pain after holding them for 5+ seconds. My old batteries does not get that hot while charging.

Im getting another box in the next couple of weeks so will check the new charger and see if its the same.

I am saying I would continue using it, without worry.
My action would be to try to use the rounded end of the new MFLB brush, or similar tool and "iron" it as smooth as possible...
My next step would be to contact Magic Flight, and arrange a replacement... and then once it arrives, you would send them the faulty one so that your new warranty would continue.

Thanks again Vito! If you charged a nickle per question.....

My batteries get pretty hot while charging in the stock charger... give them a few minutes between usage and charge and you should be fine IMO.

If the charger is getting really hot it might be defective though.

My batteries also get hot while charging, but I don't remove them from the charger for a couple hours after the charging cycle has ended. I heard you need to do that so the batteries get a full charge due the trickle charge at the end. By the time I remove the batteries, they are cooled to the touch. I don't use the stock Magic Flight charger, though. I use a C-9000.

I've just got a PA2 beta. Not yet enough experience to have a good opinion yet. I am waiting to build it and for the official announcement and MF to let me post a review and some photos I've already taken.
...I think I can post at least this now since FC knows that it exists.

They would show things FC haven't seen yet and I was told to wait until official announcement.

Hi Very high
Hi all, new to the forum and thanks for a great threat.. I have not had the time to read through it all yet... Anyway would be great if the gurus here to offer me some advise.

I had the iolite it died on me recently. I didn't really like the iolite as where I live high quality butane is hard to find so its a bit of a bitch to use it.

So I am deciding between mLFB and Solo, which would you guys recommend. Anyone had experience with the iolite vs the two in my short list? How much better will these be vs my short list.

I really like the MLFB concept but the solo reviews made it sounds like its Heaven send... Lol

Thanks everyone!!!

Welcome to FC dude. I still have my iolite(no longer used) and recently got into Solo world :smug: but I will never get rid of my trusty MFLB. It comes in handy in situations were the Solo just isnt feasible. If you can afford it then buy them both haha or just pick the one you like the look of most. You wont be disappointed with either and they are both miles better than the Iolite :) IMO.

I never tried an iolite, but I own a solo and a mlfb. My first vape experience was the solo. Bought it almost two years ago, and it was love at first sight! Still think its a great vape, but after buying the box 6 months ago, i rarely use it anymore. The main reason is the box is WAY more stealth! The fast heatup/cooldown time being my second reason. I also enjoy the amount of vapor i get from the box more than the big fat rips from my solo! Im getting about the same level of high from a stem on the solo and a trenchfull in the box. My throat feels better after a session with my box because of smaller (and fewer) hits. But thats propably beacuse i almost always vaped a stem from 5-7 heating setting on the solo, and letting it go the end of the 12min cycle. I stopped doing that short time after purchasing my box. Now i dont bother to go longer than 5-8min when using my solo (still my throat feels better after with the box).

Anyway, my personal choice would be the box, but if you dont need stealth and love big hits, solo is the best choice.

Thanks everyone for helping.... I put in a order for a firewood 2 days ago... Waiting for it to get here from US... I am in Asia btw... Yesterday, I walked pass a shop saw the box for sell. I couldn't help my self and got my self one also... So now I have 2 wood vaps.. One is on it way the other.... OMG... This little box is great, it kills the iolite... The waiting time is minimal afte both batteries are charged, it's fast to load, fast to clean and fast to heat up! The vape heaven send...

Having read all about the Box, I felt I have mastered the so called technic after the first trench... From the second trench u can hit twice and I feel real good.... Not stupid hissing sound and vape is amazing!!!

I guess the solo gives huge hits but the box and firewoord just have so muh character I just love them.... I guess Christmas comes in July for me lol!

This has to be the most helpful and friendly forum ever... Thanks everyone!!

Good ol wood vapes. So much more character than a hunk of plastic! Your going to love your firewood "convection" make sure to take notice the different effects from the same material from MFLB "conduction" campared to the firewood.

I was reading up on the warranty claim section of the Magic Flight website and one of the things it said you had to include with a claim is some kind of 'proof of purchase.' Is that true? I bought my box from a friend, so I have no such thing. I know Magic Flight has a reputation for being very accommodating with warranty claims, and I thought that as long as the serial number hadn't been warrantied before you were basically okay. Maybe I'm making a mountain out of a molehill, but I figured I'd check with all you MFLB gurus just in case :D

Never had to submit a single proof of purchase other than a picture. They know if the warranty is valid by the serial # (always wise to check with MF before purchasing) and if they think something is amiss, they will request that they box be sent in for examination (very, very rare..usually only with shitty pics).

If you want to double-check, put in a ticket on their website and ask for a serial number check...within 48 hours you will know if the warranty is still valid. Only way it wouldn't be is if your friend picked it up from an unauthorized seller or the MFLB has already been warrantied.

Good Luck!
