I've been Vaping Nettles for Hayfever relief - with positive results. From Sneezy to clear on the second/third exhale. This is just from Nettle tea bags - so easily available and one bag lasts me a couple of days at about 160C.

And fa Tweeks - i find that it also helps me focus - especially for Reiki meditation :D

Maybe not to combust - but definitely seems fine to Vape - at least in tea form.
Still haven't been able to find any information specifically on Nettles tho ;)

Only thing I remember about Nettles is from way back when I hit the gym regularly...apparently some bodybuilders supplement with it for a testosterone boost. Not sure how much nettle you would need for an effect (if any) but something to be aware of, since too much testosterone can be a problem for some people.

Do find it a bit odd that i can find info on 80-100 different herbs - legal and illegal - and not one piece on vaping Nettles on t'interweb at all :horse:

Oh apparently tis the root that can boost testosterone BTW
Nettle root is an aromatase inhibitor. Aromatase converts testosterone in to estrogen. Therefore, nettle root is used in cases where increased testosterone is desired.

Nettles are a wonderful weed to eat fresh... I love them.

Not sure about vaping them... but generally eating the plants that are called "weeds" is very good, as they are hardy, survivors, generally NOT GMO, and are filled with natural nutrition. I would think you could do way, way worse. :)

Made a Nettle stew at me Ma's last wedding - folk loved it until someone asked what the 'Peppery Spinach' was - when i told him he literally spat it out - and the dishes popularity dwindled too! LoL

Enchantre, or anyone else, can you give some advice on herbs for hot flashes? Someone dear to me has been going through that phase and I know you're struggling with it too. She's tried soy supplements, but I wonder if that's good or will mess with the natural process. What do you think herb-wise? (and i think you are herb wise)

From Women to Women
The following plants have been used by generations of women for hot flashes, night sweats, and other menopausal symptoms:

Soy

Soy

Some trials show it is helpful, while others have found no effect. Its use is based on the idea that soy contains compounds called isoflavones which have some small oestrogen-like effect. A study at the University of Minnesota concluded, "Consumption of 30 mg/day of soy isoflavones reduces hot flashes by up to 50 per cent."

Herbal Remedies for Menopause Night Sweats

Night sweats are an intense feeling of warmth that can spread throughout the body during menopause, causing extreme flushing and perspiration. Women can wake up drenched in sweat, which, in turn, leads to lost sleep and irritability. Night sweats are thought to be caused by a deficiency in estrogen. Traditionally, they have been treated with synthetic forms of estrogen, but certain herbs can help reduce night sweats by putting mild plant estrogens or hormones back into your system.
Dong Quai

Dong quai can help relieve night sweats by balancing hormonal levels of estrogen and progesterone. It also stabilizes the blood vessels, which can decrease excessive sweating and hot flashes.

Chaste Berry

Chaste berry is an herb that can alleviate night sweats because it affects the pituitary gland. This gland regulates LH and FSH secretion, which controls body temperature. It also regulates hot flashes and dizziness caused by menopause.
Motherwort

Motherwort is an herb that can reduce the severity of night sweats and hot flashes, relieving anxiety in the body. It has a calming effect on the circulatory system, which quiets the nerves and blood vessels responsible for night sweats.
Sage

Sage is an herb that can reduce secretions of the sweat glands. It can also provide much-needed estrogen to the body. According to Herbal Medicine Suite 101, “For centuries, sage has been used as a reliable and safe treatment for night sweats. It is a source of estrogen and can be taken in a gelcap form or brewed as a tea from sage plants grown in your own garden.”

Thank you for the complement.
I'd STRONGLY recommend that she do the hormone saliva test process. Those soy supplements, and a lot of OTC and prescription things for "hot flashes" are targeting low Estrogen. However, low Estrogen is becoming less and less prevalent - low Progesterone is. Needs an entirely different approach.

There is one herb that my ND prescribed before we got the test results back, she said it works regardless of which way the hormone levels fall: Estrovera. It does appear to not be 100% sure, though. I've had limited results from it, so far.

I'm surprised kava hasn't been mentioned yet. It's the root of a pepper plant and not technically an herb, but it's fantastic. There are vaporizable extractions available like this one: kava dabs

I like to use a lot of different plants for my physical and mental well being, and I find that the best extracts specifically produced for those purpose are available from this site: http://www.essentialoilwizardry.com/

The essential oil wizardry site has a great co2 kava extract, but it doesn't seem to be dewaxed and is intended for oral consumption. The "conscious bartending" section is also worth a look- it's the best offering of "oilhuasca" type blends I've found available for purchase.

I remember chewing on fresh kava root in hawaii. The effects were interesting, and it made my lips turn numb. Local legend has it that you could tell when someone would get strung out on the stuff, as their complexion would take on a grayish hue and their eyes would look sunken--time for a sweat lodge session.
