I like to show my Off Grid MFLB solution.

Cool. I assume I'm looking at a gel cell 12 Volt battery in a box with a charge controller on the front?

Now all you need is a crank for nighttime use. When your buds run the battery down, tell them 'crank or be straight.....'.

I thought about the same sort of deal for the garden, but never got around to it, it's too easy to haul my little three 18650 cell battery out to run stuff. Including charging MFLB batteries in fact. I kept it in an ammo can to keep it dry and the critters from eating it, but it all got a little silly after a while.

Still, silly is no reason to give up on a fun project.......

Thanks.

Speak of the devile....

I have been the fortunate recipient of a gift of some hand cut acrylic MFLB stems.
I would like to share in my good fortune, and am willing to send stems to any person that wants them.
You would send me a stamped self addressed regular letter sized envelope.
The postage will need to be 72¢ , and you will get two stems
The stems were cut and made available to me by a good friend to this forum and to all OF it's members
PM me for the address~

To all my vaping friends, please be careful with a MFLB in public. I got caught by the fuzz here in NYC at a park for "possession of marijuana". Hopefully it's only a fine and not something that'll stick forever, however, be very careful.

Stay classy, my friends.

Bummer, but excellent advice. Good luck with the repercussions.

While it's magic at many levels, it's not a universal talisman after all. It's not a 'get out of jail free card'.

I worry sometimes that through the amusing 'my vape in public' photos we might be encouraging each other to recklessness. Not only is it a serious problem for the fellow involved, but its also another step closer to our toys showing up in police line ups, training materials and 'things to look for' lists at many levels. As soon as there's a photo of a LB, Percei or whatever posted on the bulletin board in the TSA office at the local airport having one in your baggage becomes a huge hassle.

Edgy stuff is fun, no doubt about it, but it carries real risks often. Sometimes immediate, sometimes long term. Risky behavior.

Low profile, even for those of us with cards, is a good policy IMO. Not to wake the sleeping bear?

Got my new powerex batteries but don't really see much of a difference. They took forever to charge the first time also, like 6 hours. I'm only using the charger that came with my LB. Would a different charger make that much of a difference?

Ugh, she's pretty and she knows how to use a Launch Box?

I can die in peace now :luv:

And I'm out a LB again... Thinking I might see mine Tuesday afternoon, if not Wednesday... And now the wait begins again. Granted, I've been on the oil train for a bit now, but still... RIP Sheila, your third sister well be here soon enough.

What batteries do you currently have? If they've got the MF logo on the bottom, those are the custom cells that Magic Flight made specifically for the Box, and IMO they'd be hard to beat in the situation. I've got 8 batteries for mine, but only use the Logo Batteries now. I keep the rest around for backup, charged and all.

aw poop, posted it instead of editing my above post. sorry!

Well it came with 2 with the logo and 2 without, no clue what those ones actually are. Just bought 4 powerex 2700's. Thought they were supposed to be noticeably different than the stock ones but I dont see it.

Yeah, the unbranded ones were the old "stock" batteries, and the 2700's were an improvement on those. With the Logo batteries you probably won't see much of an improvement because, like I said, MF custom-made them to be the best they can make (with current battery tech of course) for the Launch Box. From "best to worst" I'd say it goes Logo Batteries, 2700's, old stock batteries. The logos are like a hybrid between the power difference between old stock and 2700's, but with a longer battery life. The old stock I could get ~2 trenches, the Powerex ~2.5-3, and the Logo's I've been jamming 4 trenches a piece.

The improved Logo ones are now the new "stock batteries" and again they're an improvement on the "old stock batteries." The 2700's showed an improvement over old stock, and the Logo's are an improvement on the 2700's IMO.

Good summary IMO. But it should also be pointed out this only applies if you charge and then use them within a few days. The 2700s are 'HSD' (High Self Discharge), the others are not. They will be just as fresh weeks later when the 2700 will be a distant third in the race and falling behind.

The factory batteries have been carefully selected with this feature in mind, which is why I guess they didn't ship 2700s?

I spent quite a while at the TY Expo talking to Delia about using other herbs in the LB. I also watched her handling questions. She is a sharp lady, no question.

Nah, I just deleted his second post. I appreciate it when people notice. It's the oblivious ones who make me go .

Wanted to throw a shout out to MFLB....they ROCK!

Had a slight issue with a product purchased through one of their authorized re-sellers and when I contacted the re-seller, wires were crossed and it took them a few weeks to get back to me with the response of "Nothing we can do, we told the manufacturer" via email...

...that email was after I had received an email from Magic Flight with a tracking number. They were quicker than the retailer solving the issue and when my package arrived I found it filled with extra goodies!

Magic Flight always jumps through hoops to please....that's why I always steer folks to a MFLB for their first.

Oh and Sonics...when are you going to let me come over and hit that DG? (then sell it to me :) )

Gotta agree with the past couple comments, Magic Flight does it right. Every time I have dealt with them (for warranty replacement or direct purchases) they have been a pleasure.

So much so that it makes me want to order from them more often. It's sad, but going above & beyond for the customer is the exception these days, not the rule.

I'm bad at reading cursive but I think I have a Julie to thank.

Why take a chance? Thank 'em all! IMO they having it coming..... They have chosen to have this 'corporate identity, and more power to 'em for it.

IMO there's no doubt about it. It increases 'pride of ownership' to know such is behind the humble box.....or anything else for that matter.

So much so that it makes me want to order from them more often. It's sad, but going above & beyond for the customer is the exception these days, not the rule.

You're absolutely right there, sad indeed.....but also cause for celebration?

The urge to order more of their gear is natural, proper IMO and I suspect part of their plan?

IMO very much a case of the Golden Rule in action. Many profess to follow that rule, but few actually live it.
