Discontinued The Sublimator

Can someone please tell me why oh why they blow out all that vapor as they take in? It just seems like a waste to take in more for show but in practice why would you do that?

Paka, is this a small toke machine if you want it to be. I vape a lot but hate huge hits like you do. Seems like these guys do most for show not unlike other vaporizers using water tools or in this case just a tube. I don't like wasting meds. I take in as much as I can hold.

I don't think so, by nature it wants you to extract everything at once. You can certainly reduce the load size (I don't know how far) but you're still pulling everything out in one cloud, however...

The cloud you get is much easier on the throat and lungs than anything else I've hit. (I've not hit a Cloud.) I think this is thanks to the downstream atomizer. If had been using a water tool I think I would not have had any urge to cough at all. It was far less than I expected after such a large (for me) dry hit.

They exhale the clouds for demonstration purposes. It's the vapourizer money shot, and if you don't know what a money shot is, I strongly advise against a Google search.

As to load size: I think the load I hit was about .1g, maybe slightly more. That is the standard load for the Sublimator as far as I know. Enrico frequently refers to saving money through load conservation.

Yes, .1 which they are taking in one hit and blowing out. Is it possible to get as medicated that way when you can use the same amount and have one or two full sessions to the limit of turn off on most devices. This would mean more of that .1 is being absorbed?

The sublimator is supposed to extract "all" actives in one pass(I'd still go for another hit of the same load :ko: ) as opposed to other vaporizers which will take a period of time to remove the goodies.

All I was saying is it might extract it all at once but we can't take it in our bodies all at once I didn't think, and that seems to be true, since it is all coming out of there mouth. I get the money shot thing...thanks paka I will not google it:lol:, but it doesn't seem efficient to IMO.

Absorption rate is "increased" because of the vapor being broken down into a finer form. So the exhale may not be as wasteful as it seems. All we can do for now is speculate though.

I think in your case Dreamerr, you would want to fill your chamber, then just sip at the vapor. Might even be a good place for the "vapor lung" to step in. I've watched countless videos of people hitting the 'sub' and most take in more than they can comfortably hold. At first they were being instructed not to blow it out immediately, but I think at some point it became clear, that in order to hit a full load like that, most people can't fill their lungs that full and just hold it (I know I can't) let alone clear it in one try.

They argue that the atomizer results in vapour that is finer and easier for the lungs to absorb, which is one of the reasons the Sublimator effects are supposedly different. I know that in my case, I didn't exhale much. I coughed but only a little. I'm wary about going into how the effects differ because that's really hard to judge and express. Perhaps someone who needs the high temperature compounds would be able to detect a difference.

This is not a device for you or me, Dreamerr. I'd like to have one just long enough to play with, but I can guarantee that then I'd give it to someone who needs that sort of thing. Based on the discussion in the Cloud-chasers thread, I know there are a lot of users out there who really need a machine like this one. I don't.

You are correct paka. I will watch from the side. Cloud chasers are going to love this and I do agree this is right up slims alley if he can get passed the name. I think this is going to be really fun to watch vids of the peeps on here not blowing up one lung but two and then some. I am now going to the corner to watch the evolution of this thing.

I will keep to my baby hits and low temps.

I heard Enrico tell someone that they would start selling out of a Vancouver store any day now, and this vendor is in Vancouver. Might be the one.

Call it what you want, cloud chasing whatever, but its this style of medication that appeals to me as a chronic pain patient and also as a kid that was taught to smoke by hippies with bongs :)

I just vaped .1 with the Cloud/Devastator and it easily extracted it all in one giant hit, I think .15 will be my sweet spot as I continue to measure. There is definitely a hard cutoff point where major vapor production on the hit stops, and the flowers start giving off a wispy final gasp.

It's on the fucking Planet Vape Website (out of stock) - it shows the apollo adapter for 499? Is that all you need? I assume it is if your using your own glass.

Curious to know why the price difference? Are these different packages?

No need to feel excluded. We're all different and have our own requirements for our situations. That's the wonderful thing about cannabis. It's various properties can adapt to us, for us. :)

Planet Vape just responded to my question of when to expect stock, they said it would be very soon, but didn't want to get locked into a time frame, in case something delays things. I'd start checking often if you are ready to pull the trigger. I don't have the $ for this right now, myself, so I will also have to wait a bit. I am very eager to see this moving forward, this thread has been really active.

I don't understand why he refers to the SSV and DBV as using "induction".

He must've meant "convection", because there is no way that 7th floor has created an induction vaporizer.

From what I've seen so far this seems like a cool rig with an unfortunate name.

:peace:

I think he just means a transfer of heat. The language barrier is there, but as pakalolo said, Enrico's enthusiasm is infectious. I really appreciate how he was praising the Volcano and and 7th Floor products as he was making comparisons to help explain how his device works. When a vape maker has nothing but good things to say about the competition you know they're confident in their product beyond reproach. A rare occurrence and to me it says a lot.

CBN production is a concern, it gives me that fuzzy "headband" type of feeling, so too much is undesirable, and I'm not a big fan of reclaim, however it is possible this device might change that. It looks absolutely indestructible with top quality materials and construction throughout...
One of the first things I thought when I saw this vape was that it belongs in your lab. :D

From watching the videos posted in this thread I get the impression that this vape works its magic at least in part by having a huge thermal mass and a strong use of venturi effect. Some of the all time greats at extraction like log vapes benefit from a combination of conduction and convection, and that may apply here as well since the bowl itself gets hot.

I'm looking forward to learning more about the atomizer in this device. It makes sense that breaking the vapor into smaller particles while causing it to expand would deliver a potent hit. As has been said, let's not get caught up in names here. I think it's clear that this is a vape that works well and has been created by an enthusiast who cares about his product and customers. That's a win for us!

Edit: Spelling.
