Leaks below from too much heat, not good. Once it starts there's no cure, it just gets worse. Makes a big mess.
Cold center sections leads to the load freezing in place on the way down (remember, it's going to be 'just barely melted') leaving an air bubble trapped between the wicks and goods, a 'vapor lock' of sorts. No feeding, dry wicks, again not good.
Do it that way and you're 'doubly screwed'?

I'm not sure about any other distributors carrying the new batteries. I remember b0 here saying he ordered a maple box kit from PuffItUp.com and received the new batteries with it, but that doesn't mean they're selling them separate from the kits. I'd contact MF about the shipping cost and whether any other distributors carry the batteries alone.

No, it's not the sticker. It's the battery bodies themselves. I've lost a trench to this, full cherry combustion. Best I've been able to do is spin it while inside the LB and find the "weakest resistance" point since my batteries aren't 100% round. The weakness point thing was more obvious for me with the Powerex 2700's, I had one in particular that unless I spun it to the tightest point, simply turning the Box sideways would allow the battery to fall out. No sticker there either. I've also kinda subconsciously started to pull the battery back a MM or so after releasing to ensure that it doesn't happen again.Anyone else have a problem with the new batteries that they aren't affected by the push back ring? Mine always stays suck in there and today I lost a dabI'm guessing this might be caused by the lack of the white sticker on the nipple of the old batteries

the new batts were too tight in my older box and would get stuck. in the newer box it can actually fly out if I shake it too hard.

Gods know I love the Vape Critic for all he does, but he's making cleaning the "glass" stem harder than it need be. I saw this tip here on FC and it works for me. Just rip off a small strip of paper towel and pull it through the stem. If you do it once a week or so you shouldn't have any problem.
Speaking of cleaning "The Box", I received and have been using my oil tray for about a week now and find that it (works beautifully) does tend to gunk the screen and lid fairly quickly. Is this the way it is or could I be doing it wrong?

I agree. There are, I think ways to limit/control it to some extent. The most obvious is the concentrate, some 'spit' a lot I find, others almost not at all. Not so obvious is fill level. More, smaller fills seem to stay cleaner to me. I assume it's just a matter of more of the tray being filled? Maybe it's that some of it gets heated, then cooled only to heat again (maybe several times). I also think 'sneaking up on it' helps. That is getting it hot enough to start making vapor, then slacking off the power for a few seconds then going for the gold.
And, of course, draw speed is a factor, I'm liking slow steady pull best I think, otherwise the vapor seems to swirl around on me between 'micro hits'.
Lots to play with. I'm hoping others will join in the fun of exploring these little guys. With good goods, they definitely add a new dimension to the box. It makes logistics harder, but can return big dividends in exchange. Guys with LBs and access to good concentrates should be considering them IMO.

My lid gets stained with budda/wax splatters .
It happens when I first melt the budda , and it starts to bubble up .
And when the oil bubbles burst , it splashes onto the lid .
I've used iso with tweezers to scrape off the remnants on the lid .
But I just know , some budda is being wasted when I clean the lid .

Are you sure that's what you wanted to say, Q Man? You're not really torching the box (lid or screen), right? You're torching the tray (not box) I think.
I think you should clarify what "it" is so the others don't take their torch and make a real mess of their favorite MFLB?

Nah, I'm kidding. I sped-read it (a habit I picked up young) and completely missed a word, which ruined my ~90% accuracy. This bit here:

I ran right over the "and lid" bit and thought he meant the screen on the CT was what gunked up (thinking it was concentrate-quality related)... was wondering why he wasn't just torching the CT to clean off any buildup.

fellow magic flight aficionados from europe, azarius.net sells almost all mflb accessoires, including the CT and the finnishing grinder. although, they only seem to have pictures of these two items, probably still deciding on the price. not sure, if they got the new batteries in store either.
