VIP from SSV

Hey Vitolo after reading your other reviews, I was all set to get the Vaporbros Dabbler when I stumbled onto this thread and pen. Any chance you could give a comparison of the two pens (strong hits, battery life, etc.)? I thought my mind was made up and now I'm on the fence again after discovering the SSV pen. Both companies make a solid product with their other vapes. Thank you for all the great info you've provided to this forum.

Woah.. that is a difficult question, as I am enjoying both so well... but still in testing with them both.
They are different, and on my Oil Only days, I find myself using both alternating!
The VIP stores a wad of wax the size of a green pea, and with good technique at the power button you can get rip after rip for a longer time than with the Dabbler. The Dabbler however gives super hits perfectly planned out.. one huge dab in place... done in two maybe 3 huge hits.the Dabbler and it's case is sure more compact.I apologize for this, but I can not yet decide which is better. (Opinions may vary~)At least until one of these babies starts acting up and giving me issues!
Battery life seems great on these units.
To my astonishment, the VIP Battery indicator just dropped from 3 lines to 2.
This would mean that I am at just below half power left.
The counter shows 278 uses.
Brief battery activations do not count as a "use".
It does not register a use until a temperature is reached. (That was one use in post #77)
This means that on the VIP, I will have gotten well over 500 uses.
The taste is superb.
Testing continues~

Vito, I know I speak for a lot of us when I say thanks for the opinions, they mean a lot coming from someone who values health and safety as much as you do. I would have barely paid these pens any mind due to how similar they are in appearance with lower-quality pen vapes. Being as open as you are helps, and so does knowing that you have no agenda for which one you recommend in the end.

Thanks very much Quetzal..
I do have an agenda in the end-
I wish to expose the frauds as we all would like to see done.
I am ALWAYS hopeful that I will find out nothing scary or negative.
It is never fun to tell a friend (like I consider most of the vape manufacturers to be)..That
"I do not like what you did" (the product sucks)
But sometimes we even have to tell that to our life partners if we want to keep the air clear.

All the "gals" in town want Sailor Joe would say they had they juiciest Butt in Amsterdam... But they know all too well Sailor Joe has all the gals he wants...
So they are happy jwhen Sailor Joe pass on the word that he did not get an STD.
Sailor Joe went one step beyond, and said... "I came out clean, and had a damn good time"!~

How much wax does it take to fill it?
How easy is it to fill/load?
And, on average on a full load how many hits would you get?
Thanks!

I have been using crumble wax, that is in a chunk, so I break off approximately 1/5 to 1/4 of a gram, and I just drop it into that hole in the picture.About half to 2/3 of a gram might fit.... but there must be room for that spring in there.
The piece in there today was the size of a small green pea.
That will give me many hits, but they vary ....
1- straight hits, I would say 100
2- lingering hits would be different ... a lower number
3- those hot hits... where I hit long and hard... and before the battery can "blink" on me, I release and hit the battery for "more of the same"... that tends to get hot! I would get many less hits.. maybe a dozen or so.

First breaking news.
My battery just died...
It was at 2 lines for a while, and then like some other devices- once below half the drop was faster than the indicator.
The last number indicated was 398 hits when the thing quit.
It was nit a "lingering" death.. it just stopped.
It is charging now, so it appears I was incorrect in my assumption that I would get 500 hits
BUT... I will have to admit to new toy syndrome, and a few dozen wasted button presses to check out features.
I also was guilty of many back to back presses to get heavier hits.... as well as to test the limits.
Now that I am over it, I will use the battery in a more normal manner.

So you just plop a dab of bho over the coil and walah?
Cool. I think I might pick one of these up for work!
I LOVE how my VB2 handles bho, flavor is awesome and it gets me wrecked, but I need something stealthier. Are there any "better" pens besides this?

The manufacturers are making pens like mad.
Each one does one of two things....
1- they try to cut corners and make a profit on existing unit.
2- They pay the premium to Chinese makers, and pick and choose materials and parts and invent themselves a unit, using a combo of materials and parts.
It is a bit more than simple "rebranding".
A quote from 7th Floor:
"We know some people are not to hip on us using this product and putting our name on it. I wish we invented them, they are wonderful. But we did not and we luckily had the option to join these people and tweak what we want to make a better product. "

Vitolo,

My friends call me "Menz"
still waiting for the day the Vitolo gives this thing the green light for flowers. i will get it then for sure and since it will do oils too... My Ego-C and DART may soon be obsolete

7th Floor is still making changes, and tweaking this unit for better use with flowers.
I work with them in this direction.
My hopes are up, and I am as anxious as you are for sure!

 I try, and get varied results.
and am waiting for a custom cup to place over element.
so far my home made ceramic "plug" seems best, but is awkward.
Trust me kingofnull... I won't withold info once I figure it out.
I am waiting for another Heater unit now, as once I have a load of oil going,
it is hard to stop and switch over.
Note-
it is not hard because of the system... it is difficult because I lose track and toss another ball o' wax in there without thinking!

So is it not worth buying it yet since they are still working on it?
Why is it even for sale then if they are going to release a better revision?

Don't just about all new vapes go through revision changes after their initial release?

The problem here, I think, is in the way they communicated it and the way they are introducing this particular vape that has already existed in the marketplace for quite some time.

Yes lwien... we have read your comments and are aware that you do not approve of 7th Floor innovating existing technology.
I am here to say that I own 20 vape pens.
The ones I do not now own, I have tested.
7th Floor has made this one better than others that use the same technology but from OTHER Chinese factories.
I did not waste my time writing even one sentence about Atmos.. and I have burned through 3 of them, and they look IDENTICAL to the VIP
I did not waste one breath talking about SonicCone.. also identical and I have 2 of them sitting here..... Garbage.
Photoon2013-04-08at0944.jpg

piece of junk

... so you made your point, and we now understand that "it is existing technology".
Patients/users do not care...we want a vape pen that works well like this one does.
A few of us are trying to make the herb use more functional, but that will be a sweet by product of this quality tool!

P.S.
lwien the point is, that 7th floor .. could never afford to manufacture e-cig parts and still find a plausible client. Almost no American company could do that. They must buy parts (that all look alike but are very different in materials and specks) and must then "DIY" products are created.

Vito, I was commenting on what Breathmetal said and was in fact stating that his concern of wanting to wait till all the tweaks are done before making a purchase may be an unfounded concern being that just about all new vapes go through revisions after their initial release.

Vitolo

lwien... you're a good man.
I apologize.
I get carried away sometimes, when I feel I am onto something good!
I get defensive for the pen itself, because I see it does look like the others.

I'd love to try this, does anyone know if the heater/cart is available separately? Their battery does look sweet but I have plenty :)

The threads are 510
The VIP heater/mouthpiece should work on other batteries right?

JoeKickass,

Vitolo

Vaporist
yes it should work with other batteries.
You need the Heater unit and the spring coil/ceramic mouth piece inserts from the top as well.
*note the ceramic piece in the mouthpiece is not and has nothing to do with the ceramic disc being worked on to alter the units use for herb.
