Hey guys!

First off, I just want to thank Magic-Flight and Tina Marie for an excellent customer experience! I hadn't used my PA in over a year and it started acting up when I decided to return to the box again. Tina Marie made the warranty processing fast and easy and I had a replacement PA shortly after :)

I immediately went back online and grabbed the walnut water whip. To anyone that's even thinking about it... PA + Water whip = TOUCHING THE SKY. The reason I stopped using the box for over a year is because I prefer smoking but after this set up I may be officially converted!

So finally, my question: My water whip seems to be clogging on the wooden end that attaches to the bong. I don't want to dip the whole thing in ISO cause of what it might do to the wood and other than jamming a paper clip in it, I can't seem to keep it clean. Considering it IS a $35 piece I'm trying to make sure this is the only one I need to buy lol. Any ideas/recommendations?

Thanks!
Heyo, I've ended up working with Tina as well before. I think she's the one that hand-signed some of the stuff that came with my warranty unit. Cool girl, BDV spoke well of her as well if I recall. They're pretty spot on with warranty as well, though I haven't had to do my PA yet. Did they have you send anything back? Cut the wire? Might have to do it with mine soon so I'm just curious.

Anyways you can actually take the WPW apart, if you've got the one with the "wooden pyramid" piece. For me, all I have to do is take the WPW off (obviously lol) and set it on my desk. One hand grabs the glass part, one hand grabs the wooden part, and I pull them in opposite directions. At least with my adapters, both the old-school direct WPA and this new whip-based one separated at the glass/wood part. Anyways, slowly remove that, and then you should see a small little baby mouthpiece tube inside of there. You can grab that and pull the whip through the wooden part, remove the stubby mouthpiece, and then fully remove the wooden pyramid from the whip.

Does that even make sense lol

edit: uploading video, gimme a sec

LOL bro, I'm pretty blasted right now and I had to read that twice. But the wooden part and the tube were meant to separate?

And yah, I had to cut a wire and take a few pics for Tina Marie but she started mailing out my replacement PA before she even asked me to do all that :)

So I tried it again, no worky. Taste and warmth, but nothing close to visible vapor. The only thing visible is a hint of fog but yeah, no go. My friend had had it for a year or so, and I can only assume the batteries are to blame. Earlier today before I tried and failed, I bought two packs of Maha 2700s from amazon.

The light is there, and glows, but I have never seen the glow be very intense on this unit.

People always claiming huge clouds of vapor and the simplicity of this thign make me sure these new batts will produce some atmospheric delight

The 2700s are powerful, you might gross up a few trenches with those. Batteries are the only replaceable thing about the box, really, discounting the stems. I'm up for a few new ones myself, soon. Trying not to rely too much on the Logo Batteries until MF has some to sell me.

Thanks a lot for the video! I'm slowly taking out the tubing from the glass part... it's REALLY suctioned in tight.

I don't know where that's coming from. I sure don't claim 'huge clouds' from MFLB and I'm a people. I don't really recall anyone else making that claim. Can you perhaps point to a few of these claims people are always making that I seem to have missed? TIA.

FWIW I think you may have a case of unrealistic expectations here. MFLB has a pretty tiny load (something close to .1 grams on average?), of which only a fraction (that small part actually against the screen) is able to produce vapor. There's only a few mg of THC available for any given hit at the most, not very easy to make a huge cloud from that.

IMO huge clouds from any portable is a tall order. If you really want that (and you wouldn't be alone there) I don't think MFLB is for you. It's strengths are stealth, modest power, economy of herb used and kind of a 'folksy feel'. Not huge clouds.

The bulb is never all that bright, but it's a good indication of proper battery contact. Pay attention to it until you learn to drive the box.

I suggest if you want bigger clouds and the same sort of format you check out the Flash Vape. It gets around some of your problems with MUCH more power and a MUCH bigger load. It gains in size in the process and sacrifices stealth but clouds big enough for most are possible.

Anyway, who are these "People always claiming huge clouds of vapor", aside perhaps from the fellow trying to sell his box to you?

Me. I can blow mad clouds with my MFLB. You just have to learn how to stroke her right.

And Vitolo can make it rain with his MFLB he is so good at blowing clouds.

People aren't always claiming huge clouds of vapour from the LB, but there are many (me among them) who say that you can make the LB produce clouds. See the difference?

Absolutely, that's my point I guess? Big clouds are an exception, one has to have extraordinary skills and work at it carefully. And at most there's very few available. It's not the right device for that service.

It's not realistic to buy a used box and expect huge clouds. Especially right off. If that's the goal, disappointment is sure to happen IMO.

I agree that it isn't realistic to expect huge clouds right away, and if you are after big clouds then there are easier devices to use for that.

I don't agree that it takes extraordinary skills that few people have. I will bet you I could teach almost anyone to pull a cloud from the LB after a few minutes of practice. It's not that hard.

Agreed. Like pakalolo said, the MFLB can produce clouds. If that's your primary focus you may be better served with another vape. The best thing a new LB user can do is learn the proper technique for an optimal session, and just use it the way it's meant to be used.

Busted out my MFLB last night after a very long hiatus.. used JDSupreme's technique and was blowing clouds last night :)

The REAL tip is the grind of the matter. Definitely dump it out after a hit or two and crumble it between your fingers. This helped me so much last night and instilling quite the confidence.

But most importantly, did you get medicated from the box? I also questioned the box's potential based on the visibility of vapor-- boy was I mistaken! Its an experience you just have to lend some faith to (something that an atheist such as myself may find difficult). It took me over a month to learn how to puff visible vapor and maybe another month to consistently puff clouds. With that said, it takes literally no practice to get stoned off of this device. Almost everyone I know gets too ripped the first time they use it because they dont think they're doing it right so you're not alone. Just keep showing that box some love and it will reciprocate.. mutually of course.

If that was directed to me then yes.. in fact I overmedicated. I couldn't even read my damn Kindle before bed lol, just had to go to sleep!

I feel like I can't introduce vaping to friends with the MFLB cause I've never established a precise technique until now. Maybe I'll try it again -- all I know is that I recently tried an SSV for the first time and that thing is a beast, and easy!

For anyone who is having trouble getting the best hits from MFLB, I was one of you. I found that by using the following I was able to master that bitch like never before.

20130326_1114131.jpg

The problem is words like "puff", "slow" and "micro-hit" are all relative. Hell, even the perception of time is different from person to person.

Simply by adding a length of tubing so I could actually see the LB allowed me to see exactly when the the vapor starts to rise and when it returned after a draw. I could visually identify if my draw was to hard creating a swirl. I could more easily identify when it needed shaken etc.

Now, once you develop the habits, you can go back to native or whatever. I found that I like this way so well that if stealth is not crucial I still use it. I even upgraded from the 49 cent bubbler to a 5 dollar one that works much better. I also have a longer one to run up my sleeve during concerts and I can vape virtually undetected.

this is the LB that started it all for me.. led me to get my first LB and make a firm switch to vaping.. it sat in a drawer for most all of its life.. neglected.. until i broke it out one day to see if i would like it more than my iolite.. and i did.. and it taught me how to like the iolite and use it right... a friend got it in 09 at LA hemp con i believe.. it has the copper clad rails and the wood blocks under the trench.. it's cool looking at it in person.. there is a little burr on all the cuts.. it's not as perfectly straight.. even the lid isn't chamfered perfectly either.. the finish in general is more coarse.. the light still works.. i cleaned it up last night and it's still in good shape.. it's cool holding it by the latest LB. also check out the serial number on this thing.. it's super short haha..

God, I'm so jelly of you guys... I was hoping to find the mflb cheaper on ebay or something, but either way it costs around half my salary, and i don't even know how much shipping to romania costs... i'm used to 3-4$ pipes... but going healthy seems like an expensive deal :(
But god, that new metatron style on the site sure is beautiful.

That right there is a beautiful part of vaping history... makes me think of some of that century-old vintage shit.

I have just run out of weed but have some keif in my grinder.

Is it ok to use in the LB?

If so roughly how much do you use and is there anything else that I should know?

Best wishes

I don't have a LB, but from what i've read from around 50 pages of this thread, using kief alone will work, but you'll have to make sure not to burn it (cause it burns fast) and to clean the screen properly after.

Yes, no way about it, it costs money. And for some that's a bigger problem than others. Being in Europe doesn't help keep costs down, either.

Still, vaping is a good thing. Not only is it more healthy for you but you use much less herbs. Seriously. Easily half, usually more over time. This can help to cover the costs of the vape.

You should also check into Vapman, another well made very frugal vape, but made in Europe. There's a reduced cost version that's just as functional. Likewise, I'd check into Eubie another simple 'lighter powered' vape but very low in initial cost. They're a little harder to use that MFLB or Vapman but the cost is much better (like 1/10 nearly).

Best wishes.

Kief is the shit in the LB, just dump it in the tray and vape.

So I started a bunch of drama in the knock-off Dragon Lite thread about how I didn't feel too bad about the MFLB being ripped off, blah blah blah. To really give both the units a fair trial, and to lay to rest all the feces I stirred, I ordered a MFLB that night. It arrived this morning. With an eighth, I am going to put this little guy through the crucible.

A few things that I did not know about the MFLB before it arrived:
-Arrived with a nice little pouch
-Battery charger has the logo on it
-The wood is surprisingly higher quality than I thought, extremely dense where my fingernail pressed into it full strength barely makes an indention at all.

Right away, compared to the Dragon lite, this product is obviously higher quality (not a surprise to me.) all the angles are sharp and squared up. Everything is highly polished and lined up perfectly. There are no shavings, no rough edges, it's really attractive. I also am noticing the trench and the unit itself is a tad smaller, which I think would actually help in the long run battery wise.

The vapor quality is right away better than the DL. It had no burn off out of the box, so no wood smell, and I don't know if its a placebo effect or not, but the unit does seem to give off a little bit more vapor and the light is more consistent when plugging the battery (now intermittent dimming or flickering during depressing it)

Already very familiar with this type of vape and I already have the method down for drawing to get good clouds.

I am stripping down two of my four 2300mAh batteries to keep them rotating and really try to put it through hell. Later tonight I'll have a few friends over and start out with a MFLB and DL head to head to see what they might have to add to it.

Right away I am losing a bit of respect for my DL, but at the cost of some re-purposed grocery money for the next two weeks. We'll see how this goes, hope to post an update later.
