toros23...that's the one. they just have it labeled wrong. it is the 14mm pong, they don't make an 18mm one. so you either have 14mm glass or will need an 18mm-14mm reducer.

Yes sticks you are correct. There are two reason for this one and that is because it is jumping in front of my INH which people know was my go to vape. If I let it jump I have to give my complete reasons and thoughts. The other reason which is more important to me is I like to have as little added stress to my stressful life as possible. This vape does have one huge stress issue for me which is the 4 or as I got 5 full sessions. When I am out I need between 4-6 sessions so I am at the limit. That is very stressful to me. I would rather it had two extra in the wait to be safe. If I can use that inverter that would ward off the stress a little bit. It took 2.25 hours to recharge last night after death. I assume this is not issue since it was said that it goes off way before the battery is low enough to do damage.

I still need those other questions answered. I think two are still outstanding plus the no warning lights for when death is coming. I suppose it doesn't matter if I consistently get 5 sessions but then again you know I can and will forget how many I did. I ran the solo a lot yesterday to supplement the PN because of its battery life.

oh man. 18.99 for the bullets of the pinnacle.. that's pretty pricey. I might have to start making these things lol *joke*. also any news on the pinnacle pro? ALSO I can confirm after getting my flavor tips in the mail that they DO NOT WORK and they do melt. I tried 3 times with different flavors and tips and melted the ends of all 3. if I could figure out how to put a picture here I would or I could email you the pictures. it'd be great to exchange these plus cash for a 2x pack of bullet :)

What's really crazy is that they were $16.99 this morning. I thought that was even pricey.

How about 2 for $35.00 :brow:

Yes, I agree the bullets are way pricy. I still want to see a cleaning video unless we here that nothing gets passed the ss chamber that holds the bullet. Then we know it is just an iso wipe and we are done. This truly may become a travel vape now that TRVB said we can boil the mouth piece. This means if the chamber is sealed we have a totally cleanable vaporizer which is very exciting to say the least.

So has anyone left fresh herb for the ten minutes and looked to see if it was the same afterwards?

I'll discount your bullets 50% for your tip issue. I tried to melt the tips and have not been successful. The only thing I can think of is your unit might be running hot. I really don't know what to say on this as no one else has had the problem, It seems isolated. I also thought the price of the bullets were pricey, but I haven't found a cheap person to make a better one yet so I am kind of stuck at that price. You do get 2 bullets, so it's $8.50 ea if that makes it any better.

that'd be great. Man I really hope my unit isn't running hot. any way to reset it if it is? I am sad now lol that my "i thought" perfect unit may not be so perfect after all. I do get decent clouds too which makes me think "POSSIBLY" you might be right with the running hot, otherwise this unit has been nothing but AMAZING to me. I use in any 14mm piece like video'd above. also have any of you guys finished a session then turn it off. set it down for a hour then see how hard it is to take the top of to reload another? like one of my last post stated, i went to take off and pulled whole unit halfway up with battery. so I think the glue or whatever holds it came loose. but it seems to stay down otherwise or tipping upside down. I just need to remember to take top off when I am done to let cool down ORRR heat up a tad before taking the top aka mouthpiece off. keep in mind I use this thing heavy since getting so it's starting to get that 500th session test and look. ALSO do you suggest boiling the mouth piece and Pong piece WITH the screens in them still? I am affraid I won't be able to get that screen in there that good again if I take it out

this thread is funny. it's like a lightning round of twenty questions every time trvb comes in here...I'd be on the run if I were him!

I would not remove the screens.

I have left my PN alone overnight after a session several times and had no poblem removing the lid or the bullet the next morning. but my PN is not used as much as yours.

two bullets for that price works for me.

engineering...thanks for coming in! I gave those links a lookover and wanted to make sure I had a couple of things straight.

What does this mean:
The pyrolysis of PTFE is detectable at 200 °C (392 °F), and it evolves several fluorocarbon gases[21] and a sublimate. An animal study conducted in 1955 concluded that it is unlikely that these products would be generated in amounts significant to health at temperatures below 250 °C (482 °F).[22] More recently, however, a study documented birds having been killed by these decomposition products at 202 °C (396 °F), with unconfirmed reports of bird deaths as a result of non-stick cookware heated to as little as 163 °C (325 °F).[21][23]

Too much science talk in there, but they are talking about my temp range.

And this:
Properties of PES:

(1) Heat resistance: Short-term heat resistance:

HDT is 200 to 210ºC, and flexural modulus does not decline at temperatures of up to nearly 200ºC.(ASTM method)

Long-term heat resistance:

UL temperature index is 180ºC, and the half life period of tensile strength at 180ºC is 20 years. (Heat aging properties)

Also, somewhere in this document I read that PES was classfied as safe in H type applications. What does that mean?

Finally, based on your research and testing, what's your opinion on how safe these materials are in this application. The testing done in the studies is usually limited to cooking with the teflon, but we are forcing hot air over it for extended periods of time and are concerned with offgassing. I know none of us can say definitvely without testing that isn't happening right now, but how far out of the realm of possibility is this as a hazard?

Thanks!

Hi IF II IN C IHI:

In regard to the temp issue: First, if your happy with the unit performance, I would not recommend changing it at all (Don't fix what ain't broken). It is not possible to reset it yourself, that is a calibration that has to be done by us.

On the Tips melting: I have not been able to replicate this problem. I would really need to see pics of what happened. It sounds, like TRVB said, to be an isolated incident.

I am concerned about you being able to pull the unit out of the housing. It sounds like the snaps are not seating properly on your unit. We have had some isolated issues with flash on the housing not allowing snaps to seat properly, QC checks have been updated to ensure this will not happen anymore. Make sure to push the heater core in as far as possible (don't worry, you won't break it - well, don't use a hammer) You should hear it snap into place.

For Dreamerr:
Battery Life, First Charge, and related stuff:

4 full uses is the max you are going to be able to expect, I realize that the battery life indication is not very blatant; it is one of the upgrades that PRO will have in it.

We monitor battery voltage, and shutoff the unit before it drops too low, so your unit will not be harmed if it shuts down, it is a safety feature.

I know some have asked why the blue light turns solid, but they don't have full better life on first charge. This has to do with our battery monitoring electronics. Basically, we have to guarantee a full charge on the first charge cycle to "reset" the counters and monitoring electronics in the unit. They may not be correctly sensing the battery life when you first receive it. However, once you have charged the unit fully and the electronics have reset, it will work properly. If you leave the pinnacle on the shelf for 3+ months, you may need to do the full charge cycle again.

Hope I have helped answer at least some of the questions!

I still don't like any of the methods to fill the bullet. I use the tray and shove in method as well but if you are out that is harder to do. I also tried sticking it in a jar of herb and it doesn't work great. I did even try sucking twice nope. I know one of us will come up with a really good method. I know it will obsess me greatly.

Dreamerr, how do you fill your inh capsules when you're out and about? Or do you just pre-pack a bunch of capsules?

I still need those other questions answered. I think two are still outstanding plus the no warning lights for when death is coming. I suppose it doesn't matter if I consistently get 5 sessions but then again you know I can and will forget how many I did. I ran the solo a lot yesterday to supplement the PN because of its battery life.

When my PN is about to die in the middle of a session the light will begin flashing, alternating between white or orange (whatever color corresponds to the temp I'm at) and blue. However, since this warning only occurs right before it's about to die, some sort of gauge of the battery level would be nice (full charge, 3/4 charge, 1/2 charge, etc.) so there's ample time to react. I think this will be a feature of the pro.

ALSO do you suggest boiling the mouth piece and Pong piece WITH the screens in them still? I am affraid I won't be able to get that screen in there that good again if I take it out

I second stick's recommendation to not remove the screen. I've done it before and it's a pita to get back in place (although it gets easier with repetition).

I either use the suck method or put the capsule in the stash jar and turn it with the INH. Both methods work well but with the stuffing it in the jar you have to make sure to wipe the outside. I tried both of those with the bullet and they don't work because of the shape. I am not sure why it won't suck more then a couple of specs. I am going to search on ebay for the smoking tool later if not I will suck it up and pay shipping at amazon. I was looking around for a small spoon but I don't think there is one around my house unless I take the smallest measuring spoon and now that i think about it, I may like that size a lot.

I guess I don't get the flashing lights not a big deal at all just wanted to know. As long as the unit works then I am fine. I just have to remember to count sessions not that the light will help cause it does it right as it is about to die from what you say. Maybe I have been lucky and the reason I don't see it is because I finished the session and it just doesn't turn on again.

As far as boiling, and again best news I have heard, will it hurt the screen at all? I love the softness and the small holes of the screen. The screen feels like silk. I wouldn't want to hurt it at all.

Edit: Thanks engineer that cleared up a bunch

Oh wow you guys are getting deep into science here! ;)

As far as the bird test goes: Look at the source. An environmental group sponsors a study on toxic effects on X product. What do you think the results are going to be

Birds are much different than mammals as far as toxicology goes. substances that are toxic to birds may or may not be toxic to people, and usually are toxic at extremely lower levels than would be for people. (On a personal note, my Father is a Veterinarian, and always complains about birds - and how delicate they are)

We run the Pinnacle under 400F, even on high (Lower than you thought, huh?)

The reality is that Teflon is very safe and stable. If you get it over 500F it will begin to decompose - and over 700F Humans can begin to get what is called "Teflon Flu" from the Floride gas that it releases. Those results have been shown to be temporary. We don't get close to those temperatures.

Drawing hot air over Teflon is no different than cooking with it. While cooking, your still breathing in fumes from the cooking surface. I would feel safe saying that with the 50+ years of Nonstick surface treatments in the market, and no confirmed case of damage to human health that PTFE is a safe material to use in vaporizer applications.

For the PES, we run under 180C (356F) for anything made out of PES, so it isn't an issue for the Pinnacle design

"BEWARE LONG POST ALERT"...lol.

Well, hopefully I have one of these plus the WT on order from GotVape.
I ordered last night but there has been a whole load of confusion with the checkout process at GV's website for me at least....admittedly I don't think it was any of GotVapes fault.

I loaded in all my details and tried to checkout...the site came back with an error code box ?
I thought it may be because I'm in the U.K and GV's site never recognised the dialling code for the U.K as I had it in brackets.
I go through the process again, this time removing the brackets from around the intl dialling code....error code box again, after pressing the checkout button....:cuss:
The Mrs then said to log into her PayPal acct and register my C/Card there and checkout using PayPal...which I done....once again...error code...:cuss:
So I make the long distance call to sunny California from a damp and dreary U.K and talk to a nice young girl at GotVape.
She said that she could see the orders...a total of 3...but the card had been declined...:\...I had checked the balance prior to trying to purchase and there were sufficient funds available...was it because it was a new card, but on an existing account that I received about a week ago and never activated until last night ??

So I tried calling my bank but it was too late in the evening and they were closed...doh.

So I called the bank this afternoon and got the shock of my life....two lots of $316 (or whatever amount it was) had been reserved from my card to go to GotVape, but obviously under their alias billing name...woa...c/card is now very close to being over the agreed credit limit....alarm bells are going off, big time in my head...I don't want to go over my limit and incur charges, nor do I want or need two Pinnacle DLX pkg's and I do not want to incur the return shipping costs if GotVape do indeed send out 2 Pinnacles...:o...the Mrs would go mad...lol.
I call sunny California once again and talk to another nice young lady at GotVape and try and explain the situation.
She seemed very helpful and said that she would pass this over to acct's and they would send me an e-mail with regards to releasing the funds etc sometime today, I have since received the confirmation e-mail saying that they are looking into the matter and will be in touch a.s.a.p.

So, who knows...I may have my Pinnacle DLX on order or I may not...it's in the land of cyber space somewhere, as we speak...lol.

I hope this will be worth it when I get it, because due to no-one's fault bar my sheer bad luck and cyber-space this has been a stressful purchase and it's not finished yet....lol.

Ok people I did the run test with no hits to test on whether this vape is really mostly convection. I will leave the answer to the experts but IMO there is a lot of conduction going on. I did mess up and should have used greener herb but on the left is fresh and on the right is after the ten minute session of no drawing just sitting on my dresser. Draw your own conclusions.
oeKm6jq.jpg

Then of course I actually ran another session and made sure I finished it out for sure.
qRtXfmM.jpg

I guess I can't take pics cause that abv looks like the non used herb...oh well I tried. I did look under a loop and it was very much vaped from just sitting. This vape leans convection but it still as most vapes is a combo. I wouldn't leave my herb in without sucking out every last bit of hot air first.

Again sorry about the pics cause I don't really think you can see anything.

First off, thanks for joining the thread and addressing some of these safety issues. It's confusing for sure, because although these materials have been thoroughly tested in other applications and deemed to be safe; use in vaporizers, where you are directly inhaling the heated material has not been studied AFIK...

That said, IMO, the Teflon material seems quite safe, with very high heat resistence at greater than 500F. OTOH, as to the PES, you stated in a previous post that The PES material would be exposed to temperatures from 150F to 400F. Should we be concerned, being that the heat aging properties of the PES is only 180c (356F). Isn't that too close for comfort?? Your thoughts??
