EFS Glass Thread

@BigDogJunction
I'm sure Frederick will jump in here, save my ass and post pics/videos of his EFS soon as he can (right, Frederick?).

But, I had a nice, short, back and forth with Justin/EFS, this evening. I commented on a review thread (different forum - gasp) and he hit me up. I'm pretty much begging him to come here, because I know you all will show him the love and support, you're so famous for. I've been wanting one of his pieces, since Frederick started talking them up to me... ugh, about a year ago, I think. Sent me a price list, way back and very attractive prices (though, I'm sure they're all wrong now).

This guy makes legit glass. Beautiful, jewel-like, gridding, clean and smooth glass, strong welds, etc. In my limited back and forth, comes across as a nice guy to. He's certainly forward enough, to start up a conversation, with a potential customer. I like that. Shows confidence in your product. Plus, he wanted to know if he could move any of his wares here. Haha! EFS wants to know, if he can bring glass pieces and offer them to us, for sale?

Uhm... all those opposed? <crickets> Yeah, I didn't think so.

This is going to be my next purchase. I thought the Reti's time had finally come... but, its just not. I'm not feeling it. Only thing with M I'm currently interested in, is Mothership.

I'm getting an EFS gridded donut tube, with my m'fing cowboy skull, wearing a cowboy hat, vaping a MFLB (have to explain it, every now and then) sand-blasted on that puppy!

Look at that gridding!

And man... Drag? What drag? This is smooth....

EDIT: Thanks, Frederick. Comes thru again!

They are all old, so I'll def have to record a few more soon.

Gridded donut, and toro microverter with Gn0me

Gridded donut with solo - my water is very high in this vid, I can't remember why exactly, but I tend to up my water level a bit when using the solo.

Gridded donut (and hitman turbine) with QWISO - skip to 0.57 to see the EFS

Oh hey... wouldn't this just be kickass!?

EDIT: Haha... I just saw the combustion! 5 minutes ago, same damn thing. Different VVPS in the living room and runs a bit hotter. I had vapor and JUST hit combustion, when I pulled away. Thought, I saw a wisp of vapor and the alarm went off, when I saw how thick the smoke heading for my lungs was... @#$%!!!!

Justin PM'd me on GC tonight. He signed up, just trying to make sure he gets registered properly, as a manufacturer. So hopefully we'll have him posting soon!

I know we have more EFS glass out there, than this. Post them up!

C'mon... don't force my hand. I can't afford it right now.

No... seriously.

(Note to mods: I let him know to use either the contact form, or he said he received an email, asking if he was indeed EFS. Though, I'm not sure, if that wasn't just the auto message. I don't know if vtac has to confirm the retailer/manufacturer accounts, or if admin/mod can. He signed up either as EFS or efsglass, though I think its the 2nd one)

this piece looks pretty sick, I would like a single gridded donut, but his glasswork looks promising... Im excited to see some pieces, vids and prices :)

@BigDogJunction
OMG! :o

I concur!

I think his glasswork is really nice. One of the things I really like about his pieces, is they are incredibly clean. Look at that first picture again. Everything is just so smooth. That type of gridding, is a pain in the ass to make so uniform. He makes it look easy. Should have listened to Frederick, back when I bought the DR. Not that I regret the DR... I would just rather have a piece from a guy making his name, than one who's already got it... if he's got the chops. I think EFS is headed for being mentioned in the same breath with the big boys.

EDIT: Though, damn... he needs to drop that water level in the top perc, about an 1".

Agreed BDV, his gridding is super clean, I always would rather support the up and coming too if theres quality in the products, but who says you can't have both the Dirty Rico and an EFS? :D

That Apocoline Perc Bubbler still looks pretty sweet, but the Doughnut Perc Bubblers look exceptionally clean and functional. We're on the lookout for a piece to match with the Solo with the usual budgetary constraints and the informative posts from Frederick, BDV and others have been a big help. We look forward to Justin posting here.

What a guy!
Nice glass. I look forward to seeing some more of his pieces. I've seen some of his glass while window shopping online. I'm glad he's joining us here on FC, I always like it when the glass artist become contributors.

BVD you're like the Glass Thread headhunter. Always looking for another glass blower to share the FC love. GJ.

I'm in the same boat; looking for a bub to pair with the Solo.
My top choice right now is a Mobius Ion Reti for $295.
I really dont want to spend that much for a bub tho.

I really like that gridded donut piece. I actually think it looks better than the Ion Reti.
The Reti may have more diffusion but who cares, I'm vaping anyways and too much diffy affects flavor.

What I want to know is how much is that donut piece?
How thick is it (I assume 5mm)?
What grade/quality glass does he use to make it?

I agree, the donut looks fantastic, and look at those wigwags on the floor of the can!! Beautiful!

The glass thickness isn't listed on the sites which sell EFS glass, but it is described as Simax glass. The list price range seems to be $250-260 for the Doughnut, but there is also a nice Stemline with a list of $225-235:

Dubious Glass & Gifts

No experience with the shop, but they seem to have a good selection of EFS pieces.

That Ion Reti looks just right to us as well, justifying the expense is more difficult, especially since our Solo just arrived today (thanks Randy). We don't want to take over the EFS thread, but luckily there are several cool alternatives to the expense of Mobius, including those great EFS bubblers.

Damn.. $250 is kind of steep for me.
I was hoping it was under $200.
250 is too close to 295.

I'd wait until he's here. The custom that some guy on GC bought, he claims he DIDN'T pay $254 for it. And it was more work than that piece.

Don't speculate guys, until we hear from the man himself. He'll be here soon enough.

Actually, the guy on GC PM'ed me the price he paid, which was $425+shipping.
He had his own image sandblasted and a worked bottom of a blue/greenish honeycomb design, which was why it costed so much. He told me a basic donut bub was priced at $250.

Maybe EFS will give FC a discount.... I certainly hope so, I'd buy one immediately.

Some of those pieces with sandblasted pics are just beautiful.

HI EFS. Yes, you need to contact vtac, the forum owner, to register as a manufacturer here. :) If you look at the bottom of the page here on the right hand side, there is a "Contact Us" link that you can use.

Welcome and we're looking forward to see what you have to offer.

Thanks for the posts Frederick. While still trying to get my bearings and find a good WT for the solo, your demo shows the EFS gridded doughnut to perform admirably in that capacity. In trying to find some general rules to guide the search, it seems that the solo works better for most folks with a smaller volume piece. Perhaps the extra water in the EFS gridded doughnut serves to lower the volume and matches better with the restricted draw of the solo. In any case, the extra water doesn't seem to interfere with the working of this beautiful bub; the water doesn't venture too far toward the mouthpiece. Your feedback would be appreciated.

If you wouldn't mind stating, which of your glass pieces do you like best with the solo. My apologies for a short aside inappropriate to the thread.

theres a crazy good deal on boromarket right now for a single chamber; you have the option of straight or bent neck, gridded stemline or donut, two different mouthpiece sizes, and your choice of sandblasting, all for 200 shipped. seriously considering picking [another] one up

I have to register to the forum to order something?

Wth kind of way of doing business is that?

That's their way of doing it. You don't exactly have to buy from boromarket, but if you want to you have to play by their rules.

You don't actually buy anything from boromarket itself, but rather from individual owners/artists. The registration process is needed as a scam deterrent (like the restrictions on posting in the classifieds section on FC).
