Think I'm going to order an exotic LB with the WPW and car adapter. If I get the box on puffitup will it come with the new batteries? Or best to go with MFLB themselves?
And Fred, I think the 2.0 is the version with the click-lock lid. This version has been around for over a year now. I could be mistaken but I've not heard anything about an upgraded unit since the click lock came out.

EDIT: Walnut vs cherry? Any noticeable difference in taste?

While PIU is one of the best vendors out there, you should order from Magic-Flight. I know they are planning to start shipping their new batteries soon, and your best chance of getting some is direct from them.

I haven't tried either the walnut (those things are gorgeous, I love the darker woods) or the cherry but I can tell you that there is definitely a subtle difference between my koa and my birch LBs.

I ended up ordering from Magic Flight, got myself the walnut box and WPW. As well as more chance of getting the new batteries, I thought it best to support them directly rather than through a vendor. Very excited :)

That's one of those only every 3 - 6 months type strains. Most potent I've seen around these parts though. I only know the THC, which was tested at 25% (he's a regular grower for the co-op). Doesn't matter how much/long I grind... I get that layer of kief. Except, almost that entire grinder packed full, its pretty much pure kief. The Mendo Mulcher will do that with under 10 turns. I usually only turn it once, each way then dump and its still almost too fine for my HI.

I ground the last of it up, specifically for the MFLB, like saving some of the really special stuff for the Box, every time I get some.
25% thats impressive! i usually can get something like this 2-3 times a year... but ill buy up an a qp or 2 lol

Well, sadness abounds, folks.. Had my warranty replacement box for about two weeks, loved it, and I've managed to lose it somewhere in my own house. At this point of searching and cleaning I've lost hope of finding it.. and even if I'd renewed the warranty yet, (I haven't) it still wouldn't be a warranty issue.. BLAH! That's all I have to say. Any helpful tips for dowsing out an errant Box? :(

If you're buying might as well bump it up and get 2700nimh batteries.

I have tried them before and i prefer the 2400 mahs. They hold their charge a lot longer which i like.
Guess i wasn't really clear with my question. The one who answered first told me exactly what i needed to know. My question should have been: Are these the ones MF uses?

Bought 2 packs, because right now im using batteries that do not make full contact at all times which is usable, but kind of annoying because you have to find the sweet spot.

I would like to ask you if the MFLB website showed both cherry and walnut as a standard option when you purchased you box, I didnt try to suggest they would be able to replace a koa or zebra wood, however as the cherry and walnut are now advertised full time, that they may have changed there policy toward them, as they are now not so exotic. More like premium.

What matters, I think, is I'm reporting what I was told. You're guessing based on basically unrelated experience with a goofed up order? IMO a big difference.

When I got mine it was just as the latching tops were coming into use. They specifically told me I'd most likely be getting a latching lid box if I needed one in the future.

Again, rather than guess perhaps someone should check? Until then all we have to go by is past experience and the written policy:

"Not all problems are repairable, however Magic-Flight will work to issue as near an equivalent a replacement as is available in such cases."
http://www.magic-flight.com/warranty.php

To me that means there's no guarantee that they will have anything past the 'standard model' to offer you in the future.

IMO telling folks flat out "nope you get like for like, they will replace the exact unit you purchased, etchings and wood type included" is not a statement folks should take at face value.

i can accept that,
maybe i should had told him that was just one guys opinion, (but he already knows that)

your own advice?

"The first statement is incorrect AFAIK.
As usual, Vicki has it right."

OF

looks pretty flat to me???

this is exact statement is what leads me to believe they will be able to honor the warranty of cherry and walnut units as they now run production lines full time so they will be as available as the original line of maple units

i do not accept my experience is unrelated, and i would give the same advice again, furthermore i offer my advice freely and don't really appreciate you dismissing my experience as though you are THE authority, repeated dismissals of others information as "guess work" in favor of your own, is not conducive to a healthy discussion, though at no point have i tried to dispute the merit of your opinion

though this was a doji order i had to follow the same procedure as a warrantied item,

but Vicki has emailed them to ask so i guess we shall find out,

Please read it again. "As far as I know" is definitely a qualifier.....it is no longer a flat statement of fact, right? What I posted is exactly true, to the best of my knowledge.

I can't apologize for agreeing with Vicki, I won't try. Nor should I, she's right IMO......

So what makes you think that such wood will continue to be offered? While those two have been offered twice now (AFAIK) for brief periods, many of the other woods they've offered in the past they no longer do. When I asked this specific question they told me they make no provisions to keep the old versions around so you can get "the exact unit you purchased, etchings and wood type included" as you tell the nice guy to expect if they modify the product fruther. How can you possibly guarantee that "the exact unit you purchased, etchings and wood type included" I just can't fathom. Even if you worked for them, that's a tough promise to keep.

Maybe not like for like if not possible, but I believe if they still have walnut and that's what you had that's what you would receive, if not I believe you would be offered whatever wood replaced it for that run, if no premium boxes available then standard box would be supplied.

I tend to agree.

But back to what you can count on: The guarantee is that you'll be able to vape. You'll have access to a box that functions. That's the guarantee. Which is why, for instance, the bulb is not included (it works OK without it). There is no guarantee of cosmetics. They will no doubt do the best they can but telling another Forum Member 'don't worry, they'll replace it exactly' is not factual I believe.

There are Birch boxes out there, as well as ones without lights, rings or latches. The replacement you'd get today is Maple, has a light (there have been at least 3 types of them.....), ring and latch. No other options. That's what you get.

I just don't want some innocent fellow taking such assurances on the web as fact and being disappointed down the road. IMO the information we pass around here has to be the most accurate we can make it to be useful.

Easy to solve, someone contact them and ask if they guaranty replacement boxes identical to the current offerings in the future. I'll be very happy to be proven wrong.

OF,
Have you guys had good experience with the lifetime warranty? I just don't know how much I would want to send something I've been using to vape herb with in the mail... sounds like an easy way to go to jail.

At least I heard back from magic-flight.com today on an order I placed on Sunday that finally shipped out today. Was hoping to get it by Friday when I ordered it but I'll just be happy to get the power adapter, walnut stem and 2 foot whip that I'm anxious to get!

They don't make you send it back to them. I had to pull the screen on mine and take a few pictures with specific markings on the box at their request, and they immediately sent me a new one out afterwards. I believe my turn around was 2, maybe 3 days max? I live pretty close to them so shipping is understandably shorter.

:o

I don't think I could make myself do that to my box, even if it stopped working!

Just ordered my MFLB from Vaporizers.ca. Ordered yesterday but still hasn't shipped, so hard being patient.

I went ahead and bought one of the maple stems as well, as I know I will end up breaking the one that comes with it at some point. First Vape, very excited.

Good on ya, you won't look back . I am now two years without combusting once, all thanks to the MFLB.

Magic Flight got back with me about the warranty question, but I completely forgot to post it here!

I asked them exactly how the warranty works, and that some people believe they give a maple LB replacement for all warranty claims. They said that is not the case. The warranty covers the same box you purchased. Maple for maple, cherry for cherry, etc.

So, now that mystery is solved. :)
