It seems most people recommend using an adapter with domeless nails. Most videos I've watched, people are using adapters also. They have a tendency to get stuck and you need to heat them to remove them from the joint. Using an adapter keeps them from getting stuck in your expensive glass. If anything breaks, it's the 20 dollar adapter. If your father's glass was that cheap, the nail expanding could have easily broken the joint.

I ordered an Infiniti nail, so I've researched it a bit. I'll have to post back if it works or not, but they've tried to get around these issues with the five pieces. There's extras. The pieces you don't really need for your setup can be used as heat sinks. Best/safest setup looks to be with an 18mm male joint. Thread the tube into the female joint. Thread the male joint next for the heat sink. Then the two cups touching each other for more mass to heat for your dab. In male joints, you can use the second cup as your heat sink.

I'll let you guys know if it gets stuck or breaks my leviathan.

VAPOLITICS!
Never had any problems using my DE domeless nailz as they have the 3 heat rings below the cup to prevent from thermal shocks (the sleeved version must help heat dissipation even more BTW).

I had a male domeless, 18mm. The thing was beefy but when I tried on my father's cheaper "Chinese" glass it seemed to crack both of the joints on the piece. I was thinking maybe from the heat retention meeting water that was possibly left from filling, but not 100% positive. Needless to say I never tried on my pieces. I got rid of that nail, my friend was adamant to buy it, and he has not had any problems with it. He actually loves it, however I told him to constantly remove after dabbing just in case. I would like to purchase an INFINTi nail or something similar but am scared to bust my good pieces. Any ideas/tips?

Tell me you didn't buy this one......

It's best used as a paperweight, It weighs as much as 4 dab essentials nails combined. I was shocked when I first held it and was forced to take the above photo in search of its maker. It's made in china and wholesales for $30.

I've seen them around in the local tobacco shops. They retail from $55-$75. Salesperson from Mint Distribution told me it was "Grade 2 stainless steel" LMAO! BTW Mint is the company that imports fake TI nail (some toxic) and is under indictment for Customs violations, tax evasion and of all things, modern day smuggling. They also make those poison Cloud, mini, Craiglist-y etc. ad nauseum wax vapes that last a week. Also MADE IN CHINA, NOT THE USA!! from unsafe materials. AVOID. RUN. Just don't inhale.

I held one of those and it weighs about 4 ozs. I wasn't planning on adding a oxy acetylene welding bottles to my bubbler but that's the only way that lead balloon is going to get hot. lol. And the taper of the metal isn't the standard 1:10 taper! It wobbled around on the joint, a sure fire recipe for cracking glass.

The only domeless I have is an Infiniti prototype. It hasn't caused any problems but do use a glass adapter. I'd like to get a "lighter" weight domeless for my beer bub.

Domeless are very much NOT for dewarr joints especially. I would avoid french joints too. but as FM said if you use an adapter it should be all good. I do with my domeless.

Moar phun on eBay where I found a company claiming to makes these shitty domeless chunks. They claim the markings are for their company "Concrete Concentrates" and that these are made in Sylmar (Los Angeles) California. A bold faced lie. US Customs says they are imported from China. There is no company in California. So we really have to be careful of people selling toxic junk off of auction sites. It's a jungle. Close down 3 poison nail sellers with Court Orders and 5 more pop up overnight. And as long as they pay listing fees, eBay doesn't care.....until now.

I was informed the US Attorney General has completed an investigation on fraudulently labeled imports and eBay will remove all listing for items claimed to be "Made in the USA" that are on a list of known fake products provided by US Customs.. You can sell poison, just don't put USA on Chinese junk, it pisses Customs off.. It's actually a pretty harsh sentence: Item seizure all the way up to 5 years Federal time.

Here is a pic of where they really come from and the Mfg in China claims it's "Grade 12 (utter BS), but we put any grade you like on it" in the letter I received.

Here is your USA made in Los Angeles California Grade 2 Ti domeless:

What's this about french joints!

Wow, I didnt even catch that... The first one is the "french" recessed joint the second is a nice looking recycler!

And for those that dont wanna spend $850 on a TC theme this is the cheaper lol...

But I think my original point was to use caution with dewarr and recessed joint and domeless Ti setups. So as not to derail this into a glass thread.

i havent seen much on here about vapenwiser? im cought between a HE dualiTi,Vapenwiser male... it says it fits both sizes 14 and 18, doesnt seem to when i saw it in the shop tho. After seeing this page im liking dabessentials. but you hear about pieces getting lockup and all different stuff. i just wanna make sure i get the right one for my 18mm male mobius stereo matrix

Get an adapter to use with your domeless. In my experience, they're fine if you keep everything clean, but not everyone cleans their stuff like I do. Adapter makes sure that at the most, you lose 20 bucks when you break it out. lol.

Anyone else use the KO Domeless? I'm too paranoid to use such hot nails in my nice glass pieces, but with the KO you get this ultra nifty ceramic adapter that will absorb the heat instead of the glass joint, thus.. no more cracks! Works great and looks very high quality as well.

Okay hold up, maybe I should have done a little more homework. Is this nail going to be safe to use with my Mobius Ion Matrix?

Since it's dewaar I'm using a 18-18male-male adapter for my nail. I assume the heat retention in the DabEssentials piece plus the adapter plus the high quality glass used by Mobius should mean my piece won't crack, right?

Ease a worried soul here.

have you used vapenwiser and HE which would you recommend

I own a HE infiniTI nail. It's the only domeless I've tried. It's great, but I can't give a comparison.

With any adapter, you should be fine. Like I said before, you're good without one if you keep it clean...but when you're talking about a 400 dollar piece of glass, you may as well use an adapter to keep it safe. You do kinda need one with dewar joints, though. No way to heat a dewar joint to get the piece loose if you have to.

you're fine bud, i have a mobius ion matrix and i use a HE Dualiti with an 18-18 male/male adapter. the only thing that DOES scare me sometimes is when trying to get the fucking adapter out to clean the bong.

ditto to all of that, but mine is a large clear matrix. i pull and gently rotate while heating, that way the nail is evenly heated and the joint isn't immobile for long periods.

The legit ones have the holes farther out.

You also want to keep an eye out for the sleeve being engraved with Dab Essentials and a serial#.
Thanks for that, could you show a pic of the maker's mark? These fakes are trying to creep under the wire!
