Is it possible he's just a brand rep for a vape company that doesn't use ceramic heating elements?

If anyone can refute this claim then the entire point is pretty moot.
"99% of vaporizers you see today use the exact same ceramic heating element made in a factory in China. I googled the serial number on the element inside my Volcano and tracked them down. The on inside my SSV was exactly the same."

Also this.
"The fact is, most vaporizers are cheap, overpriced pieces of metal and plastic that have zero health benefits whatsoever and are actually far more dangerous than smoking. None of them are FDA approved, and when marketing them, a business can say literally whatever they want without penalty."

I have a hard time with this claim for a few reasons.

1. If ceramic heaters being safe are really a myth then why have so many vaporizer companies independently claimed it? (unless it's a collective conspiracy, doubtful).

2. Many of the people who develop and sell these vaporizers are users themselves and unless every brand rep on FC is collectively lying to us this guy is full of it.

I can. As I posted in another thread, I have four today it's five different vapourizers within arm's reach and none of them use a ceramic heater. For his claim to be correct there would have to be 500 different vapourizers on the market and I would have to be the lucky owner of the only five types that don't have the same ceramic heater. There aren't and I'm not that lucky. Job done.

This guy isn't worth talking about. He starts out with an exaggeration like this and then quotes unnamed sources and expects people to take him at his word. Well I do, and his word is bullshit.

Or maybe "Boom. Vaped." or "Boom. Cashed." for occasional combustors.

It's OK to enjoy your medicine.
It means "Enjoy your TV products". ;) At least that's what my dart is saying to me right now.... It's also saying "More Cherry Slyder shatter please"

I completely forgot to mention that. You're right, the Volcano does have an aluminum block but wait! Aluminum is scary too! You could get Alzheimer's!!! :tinfoil:

Lots of us (but not me) have SSVs or DBs. Who else has seen these cracks? I wish I still had my Extreme to check.

After reading more I don't buy this guy either. Like someone said he is claiming the Volcano has the same ceramic rod as the SSV, that all other ceramic vapes have. Well since the Volcano doesn't even have a ceramic element, i wonder if all other vapes are really using this one ceramic heater.

That being said i have owned two DBV, I LSV and have used and owned a few other ceramic rod style vapes. The element has always cracked on my units after a few months and every ceramic rod vape I ever used had the similar looking cracked ceramic rod. So I do believe they crack, but its hard to believe that is causing airborne vapors.

I can see clearly now the smoke is gone...
Hell, my MFLB hurts my throat and lungs after a bit and there is definitely no ceramic heater in it.

I did a big no-no which is I read the first post and then skipped ahead to reply. So what I am about to say might have been mentioned. I would not hold too much weight on this one. There might be a risk, but I imagine walking outside and breathing some "fresh" air is more dangerous then breathing though most of the ceramic heating elements.

If ceramic was really this dangerous... then I feel sorry for any unsuspecting ceramics students in colleges across the country. When I took my ceramics class I did not wear a mask. I imagine I breathed in more silica dust during that class then I have en my entire experience using vaporizers.

There are various kind of ceramic compositions as well. Some of them are going to be more resistant to repeated heating then others.

It is still safer to breath in microscopic amounts of ceramic then it would be to breath in smoke/butane from smoking a bowl. If you really need to live a completely healthy life with no risk of coming across airborne contamination... you would need to live in a bubble or clean room.

While it is an interesting topic for consideration, I don't think it is any cause for alarm. I would be way more concerned with the way your medicine is grown... making sure it is free of harmful pesticides and such.

lol, idk what Volcano that guy is using, but MINE has an aluminum heating element. So does my Supreme vaporizer. I am more concerned with the health risks of aluminum than ceramic.

This guy's post has worried me a bit. Perhaps there is no 110 percent safe way to consume our fave herb.

I'm still convinced that vaping is healthier than smoking though.

Due to prohibition in my country, no one knows what they are smoking. Most herb is grown in bulk by criminal gangs, with speed, weight and cash being the motivating factor. Herb is often unflushed here because criminal elements just don't care about quality. In the past so-called "hash" went around which contained melted tyres, henna, oil and in some cases animal feces. Thanks prohibition.

I'm guessing that a tiny, tiny chip of ceramic could be the least of our worries. I had a lung x-ray a year or two ago and (thank God) got the all clear - despite having inhaled some right shit when I was young and did not know better.

In conclusion I suggest those that can get some exercise. People I know with physical jobs do not report the chest pains so many tokers have been scared by over the years. Even those who smoke around ten spliffs a day at work are fine 'cos they're in the fresh air being active.

These days I try to eat healthy too. Healthy diet and exercise will help to counteract any damage we do to ourselves.

Still, VERY curious to hear what 7th Floor have to say. And will be vaping more gently for a while.

Just have to say, I've just read through most of that thread and have felt greatly reassured by all the posts which tear apart the idea of "ceramic chips" or "metal ions". One poster actually seemed quite angry about how such an unscientific suggestion could drive people back towards smoking.

The more I read the more relaxed I felt as the OP's reasoning did not stand up to scrutiny.

If a paranoid hypocondriac like me can stop worrying about this, SO CAN YOU.

I might be beating a dead horse, but I can't leave something I feel so strongly about like this alone.
We, the community of vaporists, need to respond to this. While we're smart enough to know better, with all the up votes this thing got on reddit, I can't help but think that a LOT of people actually believe this. I am FURIOUS that some kid made making false generalizations with no backing to them might sway a person away from vaporizing.

This ignoramus is spreading things he has absolutely no evidence to support, some of these things are plain as day LIES.

We need to fight this.

My thoughts exactly. We've already established that the volcano has no ceramic heating element, if we point that out what other point needs to be made? We'll never be able to prove he actually checked, but we can certainly put doubt into the minds of people listening to him.

I know someone has a picture of a volcano's aluminum heater, I've seen it. People will decide for themselves, but to let the truth go unheard is wrong.

I find it hilarious he claims to be an engineer. An engineer wouldn't make generalizations like "most vaporizers have zero health benefits whatsoever and are actually far more dangerous than smoking." Engineers are meticulous, they don't make assumption or generalization.

Salutations NoPartOfMe,

Also the venus vaporizer, I believe.

Indeed! I guess i was under the impression that The_Algebraist was looking for a table model only, while i realize in fact that's not the case if i re-read his post... So:

A.P.E. Vape (Desktop/Nano)
Element (Basic/Deluxe)
LoxLux (Vaponic/VapBong)

...and then there may be more:

I think the vapolution 2.0 meets those requirements.

... it seems!

:peace:

is "glass wrapped tungsten" the same as "lightbulb"? if so, the vapolution wouldn't be one, or is it?
Easy - Bake Oven? EasyBake Vape?

That made me laugh so hard, I had to share it with my husband.

Seriously, though... wouldn't running the vapor through some sort of water diffuser make any sort of "solid" material, such as dust, precipitate out?
