Thanks for your reply!

Any diffuser downstem is good?
I like your bong! But why did you buy one with a hole? Are you plugging that?

I'm by no means a GonG expert but as far as I'm concerned I think the whole carb vs slide argument boils down to personal preference in the end. The kick-hole allows you to quickly clear the pipe of smoke without having to slide your bowl/WPA. Not having a kick hole means you'll need to lift the WPA/bowl off the downstem/diffuser to be able to efficiently clear the pipe. Or I guess if you really wanted to you could enjoy your non-carbhole setup by NOT lifting the bowl/WPA and taking slower denser hits that you could more dilute in time -- ie: using your bong just like you would a water filter - avoiding the big, lung filling rips associated with bong/tube setups.

It also kind of boils down to regional trends - it's my understanding that most GonG pieces in the US do not feature carb holes as bowls with slides are most common there. In the EU, the opposite is quite true and you'll be harder pressed to find bongs and GonG pieces without kick-holes. For instance they didn't even know bongs without carb-holes exist in my local headshop.

So to answer your question, yep I do plug the hole in my bong from time to time. I use one of the 14mm plugs they sell on the website to do it. I think you can find them under the bong-cleaning accessories section or you can just search for "plug". Fits my carb hole nicely and makes a completely air-tight seal. So I guess I got mine with a carb because I like options.

--

Now on to your more important question - no I don't believe any downstem is going to be "good". EHLE diffusing downstems are known to be of top-notch quality and right up there with roor in terms of quality/efficiency. My downstem was almost as expensive as my bong but it is also what makes my baby the beauty it is. If I use my bong with a regular non-diffusing downstem (which are like 3 euros each or something on that same website) or with one of my crappy weedstar diffusers it doesn't hit any better than my other cheap china glass GonGs.

I'm also really really impressed by how thick the EHLE diffuser is, especially when compared to the weedstar ones. I have never dropped it but it looks like it could definitely survive a lot.

That was... longer than expected. Sorry for the long-winded reply. Anyhow if you wanna read up more on EHLE diffusers, google "EHLE vs Roor diffuser" and click on the first result. Awesome review with tasty pics of what a quality diffusing downstem looks like.

Peace!

PS . If you don't own one already be sure to grab a Power Adapter for the MFLB directly from Magic Flight. Not only does it completely change hit quality on the box itself but it's also a complete game-changer if you plan to use it with a WPA/WPW. I own a volcano digit and the MFLB + PA + WPA + EHLE 500ml has superseded it as my daily driver. :)

It’s 1:30 in the morning and I’m having an anxiety attack. It’s compounded by the fact that I have to get up for work in 3 ½ hours. My muscles are tight, I’m fidgety, my mind is racing and my breathing is hard. I need some relief and I reach for my Magic Flight Launch Box.

I take my medicine back to bed with me where I lie down in the dark. Within seconds, I’m “taking flight.” Within minutes, I’m starting to relax. I can’t believe that I’m vaporizing in bed and it’s all thanks to the Launch Box. Its versatility, convenience and incredible efficiency can be described as nothing short of awesome. I’m so grateful for my LB (and the incredible productsthat I put in it.)

Thank you, Magic Flight. I feel so much better.

Good night.

Seems to me the only way to make sure you are receiving the new "premium" batteries is by buying the exotic lb directly From Magic Flight...

i asked the same question around christmas and magic flight told me, that all exotic woods boxes would come with the new batteries, whether you buy them from magic flight or elsewhere.

What about the newer stronger batteries ?
Don't they come with the new exotic boxes ?
and does vapeworld also offered them with the new boxes ?

Don't apologize..I totally digg long responses, feel kind of honored!
So much useful information to digest, I'm waaay more certain of what to buy now, very much appreciate it ..!

I will definitely go with an icebong from the Ehle collection, not decided if it will be bent or straight..I like the straight look, but I imagine the bent one is suits a seated position best :suspicious:..

Is this (click) the diffuser you have?
Or this one? I can't tell the difference, just that one says for pre-cooler :D.

About the PA, I expect my prepaid credit card to arrive today, so if all goes well, I'll be ordering the PA, the car adapter for use on the go and the WPA/WPW (I haven't decided if it will be the adapter or the whip, with the whip you wouldn't have to hold the LB to the bong, but I don't know if I will like the tube of non-toxic silicon gel to conduct the vapor :hmm:. What are your toughts on that matter?).

To summarize what to buy;
  • Ehle IceBong 500ml 14.5mm with carbhole (I agree on having options)
  • Ehle Diffuser Adapter 14.5mm for 500ml bong
  • Carbhole plug (is this the right one?)
Add that to the LB + PA + WPA/WPW, and I'm good to go?
Thanks again, for your time, well written responses and advice !

with all the recent bong talk, is it actually possible to mock-up a hookah like device with the mflb and the PA? will it work, to have a glass recipient with two holes one for the wpa with the whip and one for the whip to draw? or would it be too much tubing for the vapor to pass through?

something like this
!

You're most welcome. Glad to see you're going with an EHLE - you won't be disappointed in the slightest I'm sure.

The diffuser I own is indeed the first one you linked (not sure about the pre-cooler one being any different either) and yes, that's the plug I'm using for my carbhole. You might find a carb-hole sized plug however I don't think they have it in stock on head-shop.de.

Add to that a LB + PA + WPA and you'll be golden indeed my friend!

As for the whole WPA vs WPW argument it has been discussed already in this thread (check a dozen pages back or so). What I can tell you is I own both the whip and the adapter and I've only used the whip a handful of times. I just find the adapter less messy to work with as I'm not a big fan of dongles). My friends however like the WPW so much more because they find having to hold the launch box up to the opening of the WPA tricky. But me? I'm a WPA man :p

are you aware that sign in your avatar, is actually an official sign here in Amsterdam?
They put some here and there, where you will be fined if caught smoking in those areas.

I'll think about the WPA/WPW some more, and def read back that discussion.
Looking forward to this setup ..

yes, i knew it. :) never saw one in person, though. they seem not to have them in maastricht. instead of putting such signs, they just decided to introduce the silly weed pass. well, they surely realized by now, what good it did for them.

btw, i once ordered from the shop you're going to order from. you can't go wrong with it.

Good night.

From Vaporpedia:

A minor design point with the Box is that it can be used in native mode while lying down flat on your back. The draw hole is positioned near the bottom edge of the Box allowing for one to hold the Box overhand (if you are right handed) and still be able to draw from the Box while keeping it level to the floor. Your lower lip would be on the bottom face of the Box and the upper lip is just above the draw hole. This makes using the Box accessible to people who are in a bed and cannot raise their head up (for whatever reason).

Magic-Flight's got your back!

@Amsterdam i just ordered my Ehle 250ml with diffuser downstem from that shop a couple weeks ago. Satisfied as could be!

Btw, does anyone have good tips for the use of the WPA? Milking my small bong was easy, this seems to be a bit more complicated.

Hello dear magic flight enthusiasts,

I am planning to fly abroad and have a (maybe silly) question here that will determine if I am going to bring the box or not with me...

Is it possible for those sniffer dogs (I really don't know a name for them) to smell and spot a used box inside my luggage? I mean, I am not afraid of X ray or whatever, but would be pleased to know opinions on dogs sniffing an empty (of course) used MFLB inside my bag.

Thank you!

I'm pretty sure that most of the dogs you see at airports are trained to smell bombs and ammunition, not drugs. It's pretty expensive to train detection dogs so they are normally only trained for one thing or another and with security being what it is, I would think they will be looking for dangerous things.

That being said I would think it all depends to what airport you are flying to and from, although I would hate to be without my box on vacation.

Absolutely. Without a doubt. If a properly trained dog (as has been pointed out, not a given) gets near your bag and you're a regular user he's going to alarm. Even if your box is in a jar inside. The dog will alarm on the residue on your clothes, the bags and so on. Think of how cigarette smokers reek to non smokers? Then think of having many thousands of times more sensitive smell.

Dogs can find the smell of bodies buried years ago under concrete floors, the scent of children who walked through the woods or crowded areas days ago and diseases in humans medical science can't detect otherwise. Don't sell them short. Best to avoid them IMO.

Good luck, enjoy your trip.....

I used my MBLF in A'dam and brought it home with no problems at all. I didn't encounter any dog or police at all but I come from Europe so the trip was short.
If the only smelly thing you are bringing home is the MFLB I think you are ok (don't bring anything from the coffeeshops). This is what I did. It's not illegal to smell of marijuana it's illegal to possess marijuana. If you are there a couple of days more go to Haarlem, it's really close by train and the weed it's cheaper and you are treated more as a person than a tourist to milk.
If you are concerned about bringing home your MFLB go to Poste Restante and send it home via mail!
EDIT: erhm.. the fact that where posted some pictures from Amsterdam, that a new member is called like that, made me assume you are going to Amsterdam (or a place it's permitted to use weed). Sorry if you are not. :D

I was born in Amsterdam, live here my whole life, apart from 6 months when I lived in Haarlem (studied there, crazy time :D).Weed is definitely cheaper there, quality is as good tho. justcametomind I'm pretty sure you bought some @ the Willie Wortel shop, nearby the station, am I right..??
In Amsterdam my go to shop is Boerenjongens, which is as reasonable priced as Willie Wortel, probably because it's not so close to the Dam square (busiest place in Amsterdam, near central station).Famous GreenHouse has good sh*t too, but it has tourist prices..

Thanks for all the likes on my pictures all!
Will post high quality ones when I have my sisters camera some time.
