Just made a cool discovery while preparing my Pax for a concert tonight: A simple contact lens case like the one below holds the perfect amount of herbs for a fully packed oven. So what looks like my contact lens case is actually a double-pack of refill fun on the go.

Oh yes, I will abide tonight my friends. American Aquarium on tap. And I am on my way. Cheers my fellow Paxers!

no response from PAX yet, I did a support ticket. But I did the same thing as I did the day before, loaded up a session for at night and went to bed and when I woke up I turned it on and it flashed twice and then was Dead (no Led)

I got my PAX when they came out around oct 12 if I recall, but it looks like some of you have had the same issues. Looks like my battery is garbage, but not sure why they would tell me they tested it all
out and it was fine, because this battery doesn't hold a charge at all :(

Guess I have to wait until monday now :\

Maybe its your charger? check the contacts. Erasers help cleaning those, do it all the time for an old expensive flashlight that has special batteries. If I dont clean the contacts its stops working completely. The contacts get dirty despite being enclosed and air tight.

PLEASE HELP!

My Pax is not turning on, at all. It was working fine, battery was low but I didn't notice it die. When I went to turn it on no lights came on. I put it on the charger and it instantly turned green. Then I took it off and put it back on and no lights came on. Pushed the mouthpiece, nothing. I can not get any response from the Pax. There is no light when I push the moutpiece, take it off, or put it on the charger. I really don't want to send it back. I need my Pax. Please help.

Edit: After leaving it on the charger it turned green, flashed yellow, then went back off.

It has been quite a while since I've peaked into this thread. A quick question: Have they started offering the Pax to customer outside of North America?

I have been lurking around here for some time and finally took the plunge a few days ago, thanks to all your excellent advice! I currently own a DBV which is awesome! Unfortunately I live in the UK so my only choice was to purchase from eBay, so if I get any serious issues, i.e battery, then I'm screwed!! I have already stocked up on supplies recommended here, pipe cleaners ,iso and thedudes carry case! Still need to get some PG.

Anyway fingers crossed for a quick delivery, and I will update with my experiences shortly.

Happy Vaping!

bossss- I ordered a primus vinyl sticker for mine:rockon:
Gah thats so sweet lookin.

Also since the pics I've removed the big red x. I left the ploom pax small part. Looks a lot classier. I wanna get a small sheet of carbon fiber vinyl and wrap it in that. Or do an apple logo around the lights and then put "iPot" on it or something like that.

new 18/14 adapter came from ALT, its nice and short. a small piece of 1/2 i.d tubing and your good to go. the zero drag of the Mobius works well with the restrictive draw of the pax.

No help for me? The last thing I want is to send it in and go back to combustion.

Are you cleaning the outside of the vapor tube and the inside of the mouthpiece? I used to have the dreaded temp light and now i barely have it anymore.
You are right. It's the electric path, inner of mouthpiece tube to outer of vapor tube. More the actual clip that catches is the other pole. I'll make a video and show you all, mouthpiece inserted, and pushed over. I'll slide open pax and while in heat mode pull the catch lever so it does not touch the mouthpiece stem. You will see where it needs to be kept clean then.

Now how do I get a video from an iPhone onto this is where I need help. It better be idiot proof, cause when it comes to computers I'm dumb ok. I can program a micro controller in assembly but computers and me don't talk well. These days I only use iPad..

I've been naughty to my pax... Using it constantly and dropping some eliquid onto tobacco bed in the oven.. Needless to say, I really gunked it up till the hole in the oven was blocked. Yes blocked.. It made vapors like that and it was the hard draw that made me look and clean it out. Nuts too. Now I've not had the temp light issue since I clean the outer of the vapor tube and inner of the mouthpiece, and the catch lever. Even gunked up and slow rising mp it did not temp on me..

Pax is a turn on and vape in one sitting device. Not put down like a cig thing, both waste, but pax looses taste fast like so too. So I will try the minimal oven load with my internal tamping device to clamp the stash to the screen. Lets see, six good hits of that would be nice. Since I can swap batts I don't mind burning through bats then. Show me how to put vids up then I can clarify it live.

Edit I see this.. Boss said,

I know this fault.. Battery not contacting Pcb or, more likely( since yours is soldered) the battery is dead. Pax behaves just like that when there is NO BATTERY inserted or soldered. I modded mine see. It's a robust build electrically too.. Well made circuits. The only letdown in the electrics is it needs 9v to re activate it after a cutoff lvc condition is met. Inserting a fresh battery results in no activity until its charged for one second or less... It also gets hot to hold in summer when on high and I use mu remote mouthpiece setup. Motorbike vape mode. Then in a pocket it really warms up. Hot hot.. So now I use my modded minivap for biking, driving and para motoring. Pax is my walkabout mate.

Undo the screw in back, slide open pax, on white paper, don't loose the little magnets on the oven catch.. Slide gently, I saved my o rings, left em out, they are in the box! Two of them. Once inside you can unsolder the wires from the battery, buy a protected 18650 2400mAh cell, unwrap the outer wrapping and reveal a circuit board on the negative terminal. Cut that out, leave a bit of the tab to solder pax black wire to.. Then see the wire strip running to the positive terminal, remove the cap (terminal) and cut off leaving enought to solder red pax wire to.. Presto batt service done.. Close up pax, screw in and charge it up.. Enjoy when charged.

JPB,
It has been a while since I posted. I am always lurking, keeping up with the thread. I mean if you miss 3 or 4 days you've got a couple of pages to wade through.

A while back I posted about the fit of the mouthpiece into the Pax - more specifically the fact that I could see light around edge of the mouthpiece of my replacement Pax and I didn't remember that being the case before. A couple of people posted photos of their units doing the same thing so I figured I was just crazy and moved on.

The other day I figured it would be better to have the mp lube from Ploom before I experienced a temperature issue (which I DO NOT HAVE). Being superstitious I knew if I had the lube on hand my unit would never malfunction!

I got on the chat line with the Ploomarati, asked for some lube and was told they would send me a new mp and lube on Tuesday and the package arrived cross country Friday morning ( sadly no stickers). I didn't need a new mp but I put it in. Seemed to be a little smoother, more like that hydraulic feel that some early adopters might remember. In addition when I looked down there was no light leaking around the mp! Blazed an oven on low, went to to remove the mp to changed the temp and WTF! - it won't come off! No wait - it does come off, but it takes a considerable amount of tugging compared to almost popping off before. I put my old mp back in (which did NOT have problems in the first place).

If I ever have problems I will put lube on the mp that came with the unit.

Scared the s**t out of me.

I don't want to go throgh any modifications. Is there any way to give a "jumpstart" to the battery? I really don't want to send it in. I use/need it multiple times a day for my chronic migraines and pain. I have a migraine now, I can't vaporize and I can feel myself getting anxious. It's not been a good day.

you must replace the battery, no mods here.. Just do it like I said, you will be medicated then without sending it in. You will need the new battery so there will be a wait, maybe , like my local electric store, you can buy that 18650 cell. That's a maybe. It's online where they sell Ecig mods.. It must be a protected battery or you won't be able to solder the wires on. You see they have the solder tabs to connect the pcb( battery management system). Those are the tabs that you will use. Pax is fool proof for soldering. Cut the negative, black wire, at the battery end and strip an tiny bit, 1/2cm to reveal copper strands twist and tin with solder. Solder to new battery. Do same for positive. Or have someone who knows electronics do it for you. Ps buy a mflb for when it runs out of batts or stops then u have backup. Palm2 is also good there.

Lithium battery do not jump start. They cannot be emptied or they die, note if pax caused your batt to deep discharge then its low voltage cutoff is suspect and u better warranty it then.

I know nothing about soldering or batteries. I own no tools required for that nor would I know what to do with them. I guess I'd have to return it. I just used my pipe and it was terrible. I haven't touched it in months but it tasted terrible and I just feel dirty. Vaporization has seriously spoiled me.
