Because this Website has turned into an Ad a day Thread.......

Why not come up with some comprehensive review areas? Or another approach, rather than manufactures just having their own threads on each product.

Eliminate the out of business, toxic or otherwise inferior products? Good for competition and everything, but lets cut to the chase? Too soon?

Not even sure what you mean. This is DEFINITELY the wrong section for this post.

I don't see any advertisements on the site in the regular forums. This is a review site. Having the manufacturers on board is not to sell vapes (I'm sure it helps, but why is that bad?) it is so they have a direct line of communication with the consumers. This is invaluable to me.

I'm not sure what you are getting at. It seems misguided to me. Try to explain with some examples or something. You might have a good idea, but as it stands it sounds like you are saying don't allow manufacturers. That isn't going to happen IMO, nor should it.

While manufacturers may start a thread about their product, comprehensive reviews and critiques become a part of them really quickly.

And from my perspective, I want out of business, toxic or otherwise inferior products to be discussed here, for THAT is one of the strengths of this site, that is, disseminating information about vapes that may be toxic or inferior in one way or the other.

I am looking for each section ( portable for example), do have a further distilled version of the thread section. Maybe a sticky with known members breaking down both the product, and the posts of each brands thread.

Sorry for the confusion...new phone, baked out of my scull.

But there is no comprehensive review.....just wading through the main product thread...

Sounds like vaporpedia might be exactly what is missing? Check out vaporpedia!

It's AMAZING how much you can learn from wading through those threads rather than just reading a comprehensive review. Sure there is a lot of fluff in there, but there is also a LOT of useful information that comes about from the discussions and debates that ensue over a particular vape. Hell, even many of the manufacturers themselves find the info useful and will update their product accordingly (strain relief on the LSV is a primary example). It's like we're all learning from each other and it's what makes this site so unique.

Understood, but there are some fatal flaws in brands that need to be publicly segregated. IMHO, if you not YOU) are not for something like that, you might be a flawed manufacturer

Got an example of what you are talking about? Usually flaws are publicly brought up in each thread. For example most members here have come to accept that Atmos Raw is a poor vape that combusts instead of vaping.

Toxic air paths of certain vapes?

Are you saying that "possible" toxic air paths of certain vapes are not discussed here, 'cause I gotta tell ya, I was all over that a few years back on a very well-known vape.

Edit: And don't ask. ;)

Toxic air paths of certain vapes?

Vapes with suspect air paths are vivisected in pictorials all over this forum, just look. The Extreme Q leaps to mind.

I think your stated complaints aren't factually true; this forum is fantastic and members pounce on shills and bad products like a pitbull on a poodle. If there's a problem with a product then it likely has already been discussed in its thread and you need only take the time to read about it.

You're way off base from the get-go. You think this place is an ad a day? Since when? Does spam count? If we dont have a thread for each product how do we discuss them individually? I can't imagine sittingin front of a computer thinking hard will generate any conversation. Please, segregate these fatally flawed vapes, get them all out of the consumer's hands! No one said you couldn't post your concerns in the right theads...

Also, if you're perceiving such fatal flaws in certain vapes (and no mention of which ones either) why are you holding back the info? I know I can't be the only one interested...

this is a community. we learn, and help each other.

Reading thruogh an entire thread might not be ideal, but it will serve you well. I recently purchased a used unit from a member and read through the entire 100+ post thread. I learned a great deal about the product and usage. Tehres also alot of tips and tricks throughout. I got my package in the mail and was able to assemble and use it right away. Without issues, because i researched.

wading through the info can be overwhelming, but thats how you learn. different units match different needs for different people. Whats not ideal for you might be great for someone else. all users known and new can contribute valubale insight and info.

the system here works. people arent always willing to put in the time and effort though, like anything else.

My experience tells me that the ones who don't read most of the threads are usually the ones who just ask questions but don't answer questions to other members they could eventually help and they are also usually the ones who don't stay here for very long.

If you want to make a difference, either contribute in the forum to the doubts you can answer or provide valuable information unknown to us. Also, you can read the Vaporpedia and add valuable information that is missing and you feel it shouldn't be.

I understand that sometimes is difficult to search for information in a 400page thread.. but the alternative would have it's drawbacks as well. And most of us do this for fun, not profit.

Also, i much rather have one place only where i can find 99% of the info on that product than a section where i have 300 differents reviews of different models with no order whatsoever.
As you can see, there is more complexity to this than it is at first perceived.

I don't now which vaporizers you have but i always do a review after i have the unit for a while and i answer much more times than i ask.

Can you say the same in your case?

Reading thru the threads on this forum it seems [to me anyway] any astroturfing get called out right away by the old timers here, also I have learned from others mistakes and ingenuity. To my mind the more info from users of any VAPE old , new, good , bad, "toxic" or clean has been and is valuable for my vaping expereance . I live in a non mmj state and the only people I know that vape Vape now because I turned them on to it [you vape at my home with my herb, no smoke] . then they turned to these pages in order to learn what type vape was right for them, we all know most manufacturers seem to believe they have the only vape you'll ever need. F.C. gives ya the tools you need to make an informed choice!!! just my :2c:

Call me strange, but I REALY like reading all the past posts and stuff. I'm sure at least some of us are into Vaping, and there is more knowlage here than any other site I've ever visited. I even read about vapes I don't want, don't particularly like or have no plans to buy. Why would a high-functioning retard like me do this? Because there is info here and by reading everything I can I get a little more informed, and maybe a bit smarter as well. I assume anyone reading this is interested in vaporizers. So when you've finished the threads about the Vape(s) you're interested in,take a little time and check out some threads at random. Even if you don't like/agree with what you read,at the end of the day you WILL be a bit smarter.
Example: I sure as hell never thought I'd have a (very) basic understanding of electron flow in ni-cad batteries, but by checking out random threads I get the gist of it....kind of.
My point is simple....information is power, use it or lose it!

The forum could definitely be upgraded and made more user friendly, easier to use, etc. but OTOH you can only expect so much customization and ease of use on a free forum, where admins and mods are all volunteering their time. Adding sub forums means a lot more moderating/work, and I can see why they'd want to avoid more work load and complications.

Maybe a forum is not for you? No disrespect but it appears to me that every gripe or concern you have is the EXACT reason most of us are here. Also, to be very candid - IMO it must take a set of balls for the manufacturers to be here as well. They are putting themselves directly in the line of fire of the biggest compilation of weed nerds around. I mean, again IMO - becoming a true vaporist is like getting a PHD in the pothead community. If anyone is going to attack a manufacturer for a poor product its us!

This so f****** much. Yeah vape manufacturers get heat, but for them to be posting here, representing themselves... I don't know how they sit with balls so large. Take, ThermoVape for example. If it weren't for their willingness to put themselves out basically spread-eagle for us on here... well, the Cera thread probably would have had less bitching. It's -so- incredibly rare for manufacturers to publicly acknowledge that they're currently beta-testing new stuff, it's totally out of the norm for them to field so many questions re: basically every little miniscule about it, what it's made out of, etc. It does, at times, also become a curse... like when you're not getting the shipment of parts when you're expecting, when your roof literally freaking caves in, etc... Who cares if there was a delay if you didn't even know there was a beta going on? To be as public as (most of) the manufacturers that post with some regularity here is a novelty, not even considering how fast the vaporizer market is evolving right now.

"Ignorance is bliss."

Yup, but also gotta say that how each of these manufacturers navigate these waters can vary by quite a bit and really separate the professionals from the totally clueless and that is a study in and of itself, eh?

As a new member I'd like to chime in here. I hear what you're saying about the site being a bit daunting however I don't think this place could be what it is being set up in the manner you describe. I lurked here for months reading and learning before I finally registered. I didn't want to be "that guy" joining asking 3 questions buying my vape and moving on.(I'm amazed at how often this seems to happen) These guys/gals have built a very strong community here seemingly most if not all members are willing to help answer questions and give advice on a huge range of subjects and equipment. Not to mention it's also full of manufacturers themselves readily available to answer questions on the most miniscule details of their products (wow you guys can be rough on these people lol)

So as a result of this it turns out the problem(not really a problem at all) is that there is too much info here. I found the search feature most helpful as most of my questions have already been asked/answered. Like someone said a few posts back some of the product threads can be a bit much but if you tough it out you will find they're full of a wealth of info and even a few laughs on the way. I found it helpful to almost read through the evolution of some of these machines from initial pre-order announcements through the 3rd and 4th generations of these same models. Hearing first hand from users about the good or the quirks, flaws etc is IMO the best way to educate yourself(at least without spending a fortune) and as I said these users are always helpful and willing to answer any questions/concerns you may have or at least do their best to point you in the direction of someone that can. As for the number of threads....well there are alot of products so what can we do? It would be way harder to find anything if it were all in 1 10,003 page thread don't you think? This place is THE place I come to for info and plan on continuing to do so(Thanks Again I say if it ain't broke don't fix it!!
