Another great post Dreamerr....and what you have said in your last two posts here are the exact quams that I have with this company....trying to sell prototypes and altering the product and not updating their web-site pictures and details....if you were not a member here how would you feel if you ordered going by the pictures etc at their site and then it arrives and it is a lot different from what you paid for....not too happy I would imagine.

KrazzyKid this certainly looks like a side switch/safety switch to me.

Read the words, it says nothing about switch. It says safety lock, which you are getting. Everything else is exactly what is being included.
The switch wasn't safe, so it wouldn't fit with the picture of what you paid for.

I hope they offer the on/off switch in the future, I'm not worried about accidental turn ons.
I don't get why using the bottom button was so hard for some of these beta testers. I can also guarantee after one accidental turn wasting my EO it would never happen again.

This safety is lame, I don't see the bottom button being pushed accidentally. Most likely mine will be taken out soon as I get my cera and thrown in the junk droor. Hopefully we can get enough people to express the desire for a on/off ( don't give a shit how safe it is) and tet could make one we could buy, ill sigh a waiver I don't care.

Edit: lol Maybe I have stoner OCD but I have no problem remembering to put my g-pen in lock mode before it goes in my pocket.

This is exactly how I feel about it. I would be far more upset that I lost $20-100 dollars of oil than I would ever be about not having the side switch.
I would have almost certainly put it in my pocket without remembering to turn off both switches as well, as would many others I am sure.

The NEW bottom switch isn't flat like the original. I believe that can turn on in your pocket but only time will tell. OF said it hasn't so far.

I'm still referring to the flat latchin switch that we all should still be getting in the future. the momentary switch is just a temporary thing I really hope.

Just got the same email as snart... Except Nov orders are pushed back to Jan 28 shipping

Orders placed in the month of November will be packaged and shipped by January 28.
Orders placed in the month of December will be packaged and shipped by February 4.
Any outstanding orders placed before February 7 will be packaged and shipped out by February 10.
All orders placed after February 10 will ship as normal production cycle continues usually within 24 hours of order.

Ridiculous. Another three delay over what... 2 hrs?

KK and others that want to stick up for pre-orders. You don't pre-order in my experience most items. You used the example cars get recalled. You are correct but I still had my car and I was still driving it. I then bring it in for FREE and it gets fixed. So I don't get your logic. Yes companies, all of them, release inadequate products and I wish they wouldn't but it is a world of wanting stuff yesterday. I would have rather whatever company spend the time to get it right the first time and not take peoples money till it was ready. I know when I order from most companies they don't take my money till it is being shipped. This is another strange thing I find in the vape industry. Money first, product whenever we are ready.

The one that isn't flat is the temporary momentary switch. This was supposed to be a later addition, but since the original switches aren't ready yet they are giving the momentary for free. This is just so they can hurry the shipments so people will stop complaining.
Once the original (flat latching) bottom switch is available they will be shipped to everyone who ordered free of charge.
They could just delay all the orders until the original switches are in, but from all your opinions on the matter they probably assumed you didn't want that. So instead you are getting a free switch that they were going to charge extra for in the future. I don't see how any of that is a problem at all?

Cars are often delayed by years at a time until they are released, and they still have problems once they are released. People have many times pre-ordered cars and trucks. When the dodge srt 10 truck was being designed they were taking presales for it almost a year in advance, I know this because my uncle bought it long before it was released.

If something happens to your Cera you bring it in for it to be fixed for free or mail it, so yes the recall example works perfectly.

If it is revealed that no Ceras have been shipped will you defend TETs Facebook post stating that they have in fact been shipped?

Also if you don't mind me asking? Have u placed a cera preorder? If so what date?

I was told once again that they are waiting for epoxy to dry etc. and that the best guess for my order to arrive would be sometime before presidents week (february 18th).

Orders placed in the month of November will be packaged and shipped by January 28.
Orders placed in the month of December will be packaged and shipped by February 4.
The variance of these statements, though not entirely contradictory, are hard to swallow as anything but absolute drivel at this point.
This is sad.
It seems to me they're acutely aware that if they say 'honestly we don't know when they'll be completed', then even more people would cancel. But if you ask me, intentionally stringing people along with flat-out false estimates (repeatedly) is much, much worse.
You can argue it was 'one issue after another' and their estimates were heartfelt, but as with many others I no longer believe that's true. As the makers of the product, once the decision was made to use momentary switches due to supplier issues, they knew it would take some time to figure out how to apply them to the ceras, test them, etc. OF said that on Saturday (the 19th) they ran out of the copper braiding they were using to test options for mounting, as they were still just toying around with different IDEAS for how to make it all work---forget shipping anything, they weren't even close but at the same time this is occuring (actually prior to the 19th even)---they're giving us CONFIRMATION emails? Simply doesn't add up folks.
I'm sure it will be a great product, but man, honesty is imperative in my book--and i feel we've been lied to more than once, and NOT by accident.
Noah cited fundamental differences of opinion with the other owners as part of his departure decision, at first i thought 'that's a bummer but not our business'---but now, i wish we had more information about that, seems pretty important at this point.

If you have actual factual data, not just heresay, that they were never shipped then no. At the same time if TET were to post another status saying that the facebook status was posted by so and so employee that didn't have the facts straight then yes I would still defend them.
Keep in mind just because you don't have reviews on the cera by the people that were to receive the 5 being shipped, does not mean that they were never shipped.

No I didn't place a Cera preorder because I know what a preorder is. It means I would have to wait an unknown amount of time to receive a product that has every possibility of changing before I receive it. This is common practice with every product, vaporizer, cell phone, vehicle, or any other preorder.

I will however order as soon as they begin to have reviews, bad or good.

"True"...but I don't even think that, that is happening now...wasn't there talk and a picture of a pin with a wire loop on it instead of the safety lock ?
That is a safety lock. You take the wire out, take the head off of it(which is there for leverage and a stopping point), and don't drill the hole for the wire and you are left with exactly what is pictured.

And BTW this isn't a thread to complain about the CERA, it's a thread to complain about Cera shipping and fixes.

There's also good things in this thread.

I know if I receive mine if honestly rather post it in this thread, every other thing that gets posted in the actual Cera thread is considered jibberish and bullshit and gets moved back to this thread anyways. But I tend to talk a lot about a 1000 things so I understand.

I wouldn't wait for another thread to pop up, I know at least if one person recieves it maybe some people could relax knowing they are LEGITIMATELY shipping finally. Personally I'd be on here bragging to all of you about how it is.

I know what a preorder is too.(as do most of the other cera customers). I place them all the time with expensive specialty items such as car parts. I have waited nearly a year for a $500 part before. I have never had an issue until now. That's probably because the car parts manufacturers havent strung me along with false dates and misinformation.

It seems to me like you still don't know what a preorder is though. There were never any false dates as nothing has ever been set in stone, they were all merely guesses. TET has never said without a doubt they will for sure be delivered or shipped by this date. The agreement that was confirmed during ordering was that you understood that things could change at any time without notice. Now people are complaining about the very thing they agreed to. Seems to me like the only ones not following the agreement are the purchasers.

Ha! There you go making accusations about things without any factual data again!
I wish I worked for TET, but sadly I am but a minimum wage college student.
I have never claimed to be in the know about anything. I merely read the words and understand them. I don't twist them around and make them to mean what I want them to mean like so many of you.

Absolutely correct AirDru. I'd say what's irking most of us is not the general concept of pre-orders, but rather the consistent release of intentionally misleading 'shipping estimates' which CANNOT be sincere/realistic considering what we know (first production units weren't completed until the 19th, so why all the emails about SHIPPING prior to xmas, then SHIPPING prior to NYE, then SHIPPING prior to ____, if no completed product even existed? A more tactful approach might be to tell us they hit supplier snags, theyre working on fixes, and to estimate when the re-configured units would be in PRODUCTION, rather than to say 'shipping em soon!' when they don't exist--but as i said, they probably realized they'd experience even more cancels if they did that.)

Just don't lie to us, and we won't be upset, simple as that.

I think the guy knows what a pre-order means as do us all...were not all idiots in here you know.

Yes, the date was never set in stone as we all know...but I think that most of the folks that pre-ordered were going on info received from TET that gave everyone confidence that if they had not received their Cera's by Christmas they wouldn't be much later than just after New Years. Now TET never actually said that but that was the way it was interpruted...look at the poll and see.
We also never anticipated the changes either wither for the better or for the worst.

If TET had handled this situation better then this discussion more than likely would not be happening...products being late we can all grin and bare it, but I think that people are now starting to wake up and realise...as I done a couple of weeks back and got shot down in flames for...that TET has been putting out some mighty amount of B.S over the past six weeks and people don't like it...I'm sure that all this is going to impact on their business which no-one wants but if you tell fibs and get caught you have to take the consequences.

Looks like someone here is the odd man out.

Why giving the Pre orders guff for being upset when you didn't Pre order. You have no room to complain. If you don't want to hear us complain then WHY ARE YOU ON THE "COMPLAINING" THREAD.

Jesus.

Wait it out like the rest of us who want it enough to Pre order. Clearly we are the ones doing something for TET if we are paying them hundreds of dollars.

What have you done to help TET? Bitch at all the people actually paying TET?

You got this pretty twisted up man.

IMO TET did nothing wrong. They gave projected dates not promises. They gave updates to dates not being met. They had a "safety switch" that once in the field proved not to be very safe so it was changed to something that will actually be a safety switch.
All the thousands of words tapped out in the thread that was closed and this one are for the most part speculation at best and a shit load of bitching.

Business as usuall for pre orders. Did I pre order one, of course not, I order things, I don't pre order.

I believe it is called the "Jibberish" thread, I guess it is easy enough to call complaining Jibberish though. This thread got created to stop clogging up the Cera thread from being closed, guess it didn't work.so now that that thread is closed you will just have to adjust and deal with us folks that will buy the Cera when it goes on sale.
