Did one yesterday for my Thanksgiving home commute. Wish I had a working portable, it would have made the 4 hours a little more enjoyable.

reading about all these barefoot runners ripping up their feet makes me feel lucky that all i've ended up with are some really insane blisters.

i find pot always helps me get past that mental wall you eventually hit when doing long distances, definitely helped me finish a 42k on my second attempt.

I love getting stoned and ripping off 20 miles on a bike.
Vaping changed everything, after regular smoking I was losing it ( getting winded ) Vaping gave my wind back.
Now if the beer industry could vape a Sierra Nevada ......

"All these barefoot runners" is just me! And, I don't rip up my feet. I've been running for 10 years and had two lacerations on my feet worth speaking of. I think that's pretty good, considering thousands of miles run. For the last several months, thanks in part to portable vaping, I have been medicated almost 24/7, including during my runs. I am a graduate student in mathematics. I did not think that this was possible, but here I am doing it. I understand now that medication with Cannabis becomes part of your mind-state. It becomes normal and you can function quite well on it, just as you can function well drinking coffee all day, or smoking cigarettes.

My runs are typically around 11 miles, which I do in about 1:30. I have a loop that I like doing. It includes some pavement, some trail, some grass, and this time of year, about 2 miles of thick mud and crossing a creek that goes up to my knees. Gritty cross country running. I love it and I love to run high. I do that run 2 or 3 times a week and a run of 2 or more hours. I haven't been doing any speed training or shorter runs.

Another runner here. Mostly trails. Just raced my first trail marathon and am thinking about starting training for an ultramarathon. About a year ago, I hurt myself mountain biking and took up trailrunning again. I was fascinated by the idea of racing 100 miles, so I've always had a 100 mile race in the back of my mind. One day.

I vape before hockey every week and I hate to say it but it has definitely helped my game. I slow down with the puck and make smarter plays but most importantly, fatigue sets in more slowly. It has the same effect on my friend, I used to combust before hockey... always seemed so counter productive. I'm a monster when I'm vaped up.

I want to be a barefoot runner but so far i'm only a zero drop runner.. i still should do more conditioning though, had to stop because the back of my knee started to hurt, don't know if that is related to barely-barefoot running. :D

Switched to my bike for the down time.

I just wanted to add that those of you who workout daily like i do, sometimes get tired of doing the same routine over and over, a bit like listening to the same music track too many times it just doesn't give you a feel for the beat. Vaping a small amount before doing any kind of aerobic exercise is practically like injecting a cardio session into your body, however one has to be mindful of the strain and the temperature used in the process. A temperature too high will add elements that cause mind dullness and later mental fatigue which causes quite an effect along with tiredness accumulated from the exercise. The trick is so administer just enough in contrast with the intensity you will be aiming for, anything too intense and it will pull your leg, the ratio can only be confirmed through trial and error via experience. Just enough for your session. Something favorable would be a temperature of no more than 365F and an amount of no more than 0.12g. The difference between lung capacity and lung surface area that can be used to absorb the vapor is also a factor which will vary from person to person, along with a history of how "black" your lungs are from previous years of smoking, but this statistic shouldn't be significant as long as one hasn't touched smoke for a while (6-12 months) and exercises regularly. As a final touch, those who use too much to create very dense and thick vapor also create a "coat" that takes longer to dissipate. Think smoke on lungs, then vapor on lungs. Smoke blocks vapor, not all, but still blocks. The result is diminishing returns.

Vaping works great in general with a healthy lifestyle. However, I find it takes a lot of effort and mental discipline to keep up with eating well, exercising, sleeping properly, ect AND weed seems to subtly make me less disciplined. I've had to cut back a lot on weed for these reasons.

Anyone else have similar problems? Being healthy is important to me, but I miss the mood enhancing and anti-anxiety benefits of weed.

At least you have the ability to cut back alot. I'm having a serious battle with moderating my (ab)use, but need to for the same reasons you indicated. Especially since tolerance is at peak again :(

I vape every single night and the ONLY time weed makes me have the symptoms you describe above is when I'm on a t-break.

Lwien, I recall you stating that you don't go through more than a gram or so per month. Is a T-break something you really need to take? lol

Apparently so because if I didn't, why would I experience some of the withdrawals mentioned above?

I have gone from combusting 2g every 3 days, to vaporizing 4g every month and i am down to vaporizing 2g every month.
All the while i experienced that i need to exert more mental discipline when i had vaped the previous 2hours.. whether it was controling myself to not eat some chocolate or chips, or just keep doing what i needed to do at the time or for the day. MJ makes you less disciplined, especially if you have that trait in your personality..

I have switched to night vaping only again, and in the weekends i indulge a bit more. The difference is noticeable. So, i would suggest to cut on all-day-vaping or at leat not until you have done the important stuff you had to do that day.

Some people can be disciplined and focused anytime, anywhere and no matter what. Other people just need the lamest excuse to not do anything. I tend towards the latter.. just know yourself and act accordingly, it is my advice. ;)

And this is the primary reason that I only vape at night.

I've been smoking and training MMA for two years now. I definitely feel better after switching to vape. But it is a VERY physically exhausting sport and sometimes can result in fairly painful injuries. I had my arm hyper-extended recently because I was put in an armbar and didn't tap out fast enough (due to me being stubborn). The weed helps with all of those aches and pains.

Also, idk if any of you have tried it, but getting medicated and then skiing or boarding is awesome! It almost felt like I was playing a video game, hard to describe how much fun it was. I can imagine running would be similar.

I love skiing vaked. I think that vaping does make me less inclined to eat healthy and more likely to take the easy, indulgent road. However, I do make an effort to run several times a week and do some bodyweight exercises. Right now, this is an adequate lifestyle FOR ME. That's my point, everyone has a different vantage point on what is necessary and 'right'. Some people think eating 'healthy' and exercising daily is the most important thing, while others find that to be a big waste of time. Who's to say that either view point is 'right'? To each his own.

I've gone through phases of vaping 'heavily' and complete abstinence. Right now, I'm choosing vaping, and while many people find this to be problematic (including myself sometimes when im sober for an extended period of time), I find it to be my path.

Yeah, I mean it definitely affects people differently. I think I'm more sensitive to subtle changes in my lifestyle whether its sleep or eating poorly. As a student I was always amazed by how many people could manage heavy drinking, sleep deprivation, and still manage to do all their work and stay on top of things. I would have done quite poorly following that intense a lifestyle.

I'm the former--I can vape anytime and it won't impact my motivation or focus. I love the discipline involved in moderation. And if needed, I can switch it off like a light and behave 100% clearly. Now, I certainly adjust temps depending on the impact I'm seeking. If I'm heading out to get shit done or to go running in the mountains, I'll vape at lower temps. I save higher-temp vaping for when I'm battling insomnia, if I want to veg out, or if I simply want to have a blow out and forget what my name is for a few hours. :freak: And I have zero problem taking t-breaks or being away from herb/vaping for an extended period--I'm lucky that my issues are tolerable if my medical herb isn't readily available.

High Everyone! I'm an avid endurance athlete--triathlons, endurance runs/challenges and the like. Not pro, just a hard-core amateur. I've often wondered if there are any others out there like me--serious endurance athletes that also get baked regularly. I've never had the forum to ask, until now thanks to FC.

I was a long-time combuster and recently converted to vaporizing at the end of January. I fell head-over-heels immediately, thanks to the taste and brief education I received about the health benefits versus combustion. The dude that turned me on had an Iolite and was patient in teaching me about draw speed, etc, which helped.

I now consider myself an obsessed vapor enthusiast. I've purchased two other vapes since getting the Iolite the day after I tried it (ordered my first higher-end glass piece last week and am waiting for the VXC and HI). I've not combusted since I converted, and I feel great. I wasn't a cig smoker before--just sparked herb via bong--and I never thought smoking herb hindered my training/racing all that much, especially since I'm not competitive anymore and do it because I like it and want to stay fit. But now that I've nailed my vapor preferences and routine (both portable with MFLB and at home with viVape), I certainly feel better and especially notice it when out for longer workouts (I like to get baked before long training sessions). I'm anxious to see what the next few months have in store as I further hone my vaporizing skills.

So, anyone else out there like me? Or am I a total loon as I've feared all along? :mental:
Respect dude, similar for me but minus the triathlon antics. Used to smoke and always felt lacklustre in terms getting active ie defeated in the mind so would rarely move if baked. Vap has changed that, now mountain biking stupid distances and playing some of the best football of my thus far limited and underachieving career at the tender age of 30 something....
