I definitely need advice on my next portable vaporizer purchase. I seen the following in another "help me purchase thread" so I figured I would answer these and then some more.

"Dry or Concentrates?" Dry mainly, but Concentrates are in my future.
"How often do you plan on taking vape hits; how many times a day?" About 4-5 sessions.
"Have you ever used a Portable Vape before?" Yes. VaporBlunt 2.0.
"What is you budget" $400+
"What are your expectations" Biggest clouds for the buck!
"Have you read up on any of the Portable Threads here at FC?" Yes. Many over the past month while lurking around.

The following is the order of importance to me:
1) Producing big clouds, fat vapor exhale.
2) Battery life.
3) Conservation of materials used.
4) Size.

In my searching, the following is what I believe I have learned to be true:

Convection > Conduction
Convection+Conduction > Conduction

I am open to all and any advice on any vaporizer that I may or may not list that may be suitable for my needs. The following is a list of vaporizers that I am currently reviewing in my "big cloud exhale" search. Correct me please if any of my info is wrong.

Inhalater XP - Convection+Conduction ?
FlashVape - Conduction ?
Persei - Convection ?

Any advice on any vaporizer that produces big clouds or milks glass is preferred, but all advice will be considered. I do plan to cool with water and share with friends from time to time. Thanks in advance to all who help. I'm very pleased to have found this forum and the community that drives it.

I like my Solo better than the VB2 and I consider it to be the best portable I have used. I have a Flashvape on the way that I suspect will compete with it. The Vapor Genies can also hit hard when you know what you are doing. You are gonna spend a whole lot less than $400. You can get a very satisfying portable, or three for less than that. In fact, if done right, you could get the Solo, FV and the VG for less than that.

It's hard to beat the solo for the criteria you've listed. It hits very well, is easy to share, has a relatively good battery life, cooks evenly and efficiently, is not the smallest but is pretty portable nonetheless, and is reasonably priced. Plus it has a short all glass pathway and a flavor that is superior to any of the vapes I've tried so far.

FlashVape - Conduction ?

The FlashVAPE is conduction only when you use the basic technique described in the instructions. Advanced techniques let you use the powerful heater to introduce varying degrees of convection. You can get clouds from it but it requires learning the technique.

It's not a pocket portable, it's a backpack/purse portable. A water connection is still in the works, so you'd have to rig one yourself, or you could easily hijack the MFLB WP whip if you have one. The dual screen system means it can do solid concentrates. I've tried kief and solid hash (Afghani) and the kief did clog the removable screen slightly, but it cleaned easily.

In a test I did, I got over 40 5 second simulated hits from the battery. You would get fewer, but how many depends on your technique. The FV uses pulse power not constant heating, a major benefit. It is a more efficient way to use the battery. It doesn't heat the load when you're not hitting it. It heats up in 5 seconds. It cools almost as quickly but you won't care unless you're putting your fingers in the bowl, and frankly I'm not sure you could get the swivel cap off fast enough to burn yourself anyway.

The FV has a bowl bigger than most toilets. It doesn't look conservation-friendly—but looks are deceiving. You don't have to fill it, you don't even have to cover the screen. I've used as little as .05 g in it with success. I usually load about .1 g. Smaller loads are less battery efficient.

I'm very sorry fellas, after I read my post, I would even advise myself to get the solo. So please let me rephrase my needs.

The following is the order of importance to me:
1) Producing big clouds, fat vapor exhale & Size.
2) Battery life.
3) Conservation of materials used.

I do believe that I want a portable that uses convection or both, but not just conduction alone. After using the VB 2.0, I am left wanting more vapor. Don't get me wrong the medication levels are very good, but I just don't think its for me.

As for the Solo, from everything I have read here and GC, the inhalater INH004 seems to be more appealing. The smaller bowls and the restrictive air path on the solo are definitely not for me. Hence why I listed the inhalater XP.

As for the FV, I was up all night reading about vapes and I believe it was one of the last I was reading before posting here. My brain was fried on all the info here and I dont know why I listed it, because it is entirely to big for my wants. I do like its power from what I read and stealth from what I see. I am glad you shared your thoughts and it does sound awesome.

I honestly have a hard time deciding purchases like these and will over-think and over-read entirely too much, but I do have more time than money. As for the $400, I was thinking of my whole set-up: portable device + accessories & glassware. I must find that device first though. ;)

I am leaning towards the Inhalater XP or the Persei.
Inhalater XP being the Solo rival for me .
Persei being a powerhouse and the ability to e-juice.

Any other contenders in the "Big Vape & Stealth" cateagory? I'd rather spend the money on the best vape I can get because "congress" isnt gonna allow any other purchases for a long time!

So anyone that has experiences with the powerhouses in the portable department please come share!

Any chance on compromising the portable feature? Sounds like (by far based on your other criteria) the best option. I agree the Solo can be a good option ... As others have stated ... You'll also be happy with the inhalater but I'm betting based on your Vapor production criteria you'll always be left wanting more with a portable ... Might want to consider a Cloud ...

Ill be totally upfront, my glass VG hits harder than my vb 2.0 and in about 1/6th the time.

JCat you cut me deep with the Cloud, I mean who doesn't want a Cloud? I just can't roll like that because of environmental factors. I do so want one.

Pcpvapors I definitely want to go electric.

So here's the key factors:
1) Produce the biggest possible vape clouds & Size & Portability ...hehe 3-way tie
2) Battery life.
3) Conservation of materials used.

Ok you guys definitely know better than me. Would you say convection is the way to go? Don't those tend to smoke better and allow harder hits to be drawn? And if that is so would the inhalater XP (INH004) and persei be runners up to the solo, seeing how its a little big and square for me and the restrictive draw, its why I went with the VB2, but I believe its not restricted enough. I may need to even go smaller in size with my upcoming endeavors. As you can see I need some help, that's why I am here. :) I'm just not really sure which to buy next but I think I'm in the right neighborhood. I'm not done with the VB2 just yet, I got to learn my way to getting the HT to milk properly, but that is another thread. Just from lurking around the forums I knew this community was strong and I appreciate all of your input because it makes me look at things I did not consider before.

Solo, you won't regret it. P.s. I've only ever successfully milked the HT but only hitting it for 3 seconds at a time, it's not worth trying to do, the free flow and zero drag of the HT make it next to impossible.

Solo plus planet vape stems would mitigate the restricted airflow caveat.

From my experience, the VB 2.0 is not meant to milk a HT. Wrong tool for the job IMO.

The Solo defininitely hits harder for a portable IME.

+1 for the solo. Any other contenders? Any users of the Persei or Inhalater who would like to weigh in on its comparison to the solo? Or any others that may contend with solo on getting big rips? Portables that is.

You seem to have changed your preferences quite a few times.. nothing that isn't out of the ordinary.

Between the Solo and the Inhalater, i would choose the Inhalater to take outside and the Solo to take to a friends house. (If i had both.. since i only have my Solo i use it in both instances. Bear in mind, that i vape mainly in my car when outside nowadays)

Considering you listed cloudy hits tied with size and portability, i would choose the Inhalater at this point.

They are pretty much tied in every other variable with minor advantages in taste and construction quality for the Solo except size and portability where the Inhalater clearly wins.

Be aware you're looking at a 100$ price difference, also the "inhalater XP" is due to launch this month if I'm not mistaken (planet vape says so anyway)

Yeah, i wasn't taking that in consideration since he mentioned his budget was +400$.

And when i say Inhalater, i am talking both.. the improvements in the XP don't affect the process of vaporization itself which IMO is the most important to take into account when comparing these two since despite the size the rest is pretty much similar.

Between the INH XP vs Solo, or the INH vs Solo.. i don't see such a big difference at the moment.

Thank you hoptimum. I totally forgot about that. That def puts it back on the list. How about a better-flowing stem that will adapt to the Chandelier HT that came with the VB2. You can see it -> http://vaporbluntsale.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/VB2-DLX-glass-atrachment-box.jpg

So it seems that a lot of people say the inhalater is close to par with the solo. Is the difference worth the extra $100, probably not i'm thinking, unless I can get some people who own both to justify the extra cost.

As for the persei, I'm still waiting on owners to weigh in that may own the others.

I definitely learned my lesson on jumping into new vapes. I really thought the VB2.0 was the way to go for my wants. I thank all of you for helping me, I promise the info you guys have been giving is not in vain.

P.S. Is there anyway I could get the thread title changed? Possibly to "The Big Vapor Blowin' Portable Debate" .... seems to suit it better.:)

You can always wait for the used INH 004 that will problably start appearing in the Classifieds. It won't be the new XP, but you won't pay 250$ for it either.

The difference is as worth it as the variables you are willing to trade off for the 100$ difference.

I think what you'll find is there is a huge Solo fanbase, so you'll get more answers for that since more people own it (for good reason). Ultimately you have to decide for yourself, but when I was deciding between the two I went with the INH. I personally just like the idea of having everything in one unit, where I won't have to repack it multiple times if I want to share with friends.

For portability most people get Ed stem's with the Solo and extra pieces, so you also have to decide if you plan on getting the extras with the Solo or if you'll be satisfied with just the glass tubes which a lot of people do just fine with as well when factoring the price difference.

PV gives 10% off your whole order, so the INH would be $225, and they also throw in a free GonG adapter for the INH, so that's an extra $20 saved as well. (If you were planning on getting)

We're here to fuck shit up.
Have you considered the Pax at all? I own and use both a Solo and a Pax and much prefer the Pax over the Solo for both stealthiness and vapor production when on the go. Obviously, the Pax is conduction based and needs to be cleaned every so often, but for size, stealth, and cloud density, there is no portable finer in my opinion. All you need is a chunk of food grade silicone tubing to attach it to a water pipe, then just set it on medium to get some nice milky hits.

Looks like the Inhalater has a LiFePo battery. I think Airzer says the Solo has a lithium ion battery- a family of rechargeable types of battery. I'm not really into this stuff but it seems most people don't realize lithium ion battery is not one type of battery it could mean many things. Seems misleading
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithium-ion_battery Hopefully someone more intelligent then me will chime in on this but if I had your bankroll I would take the LifePo any day.

I don't own a PAX but i am willing to bet that vapor production is intimately related to the size of the bowl and the amount you put in. The Solo, is one of the best in this area, as is the INH from what people reported.
The biggest asset in the PAX compared to others is stealthiness, both because of size but also the shape of the unit.
