I loved the 5s until the third hit, then I combusted. You must draw very quickly after the time is up if you keep holding the button on (what I'm doing)

Every owner is encouraged to try different timing combinations to find out what works best for their personal preference, because since everyone's blend may be slightly different in terms of dryness and finess of the grind, results may vary a little between user to user.

Also, it should be noted that as you vape, your herbs get more dry with each puff, and so your timing will also need to be adjusted slightly to compensate for this. But as Pak and many other FVers have mentioned here, its not hard to get the hang of it with a little practice, and your efforts will be well rewarded once you master its usage, as the FV is a very powerful yet versatile tool.

Combusted again, held it for 4s then drew too slowly I guess but it combusted within a sec after I started drawing.

I just don't see how you can get any indication, you basically have to pay attention and count every bowl, not really how I like to relax tbh...

Bummer cowboy. Gotta dust yourself off and get back on that horse though.....you can ride her.

I get the wanting to relax rather than obsess over the details of running the machine you're using.....tell me do you find driving your car relaxing? It's a lot harder to run and the stakes can be even higher than combusting.

Ordered last night, looking forward to putting down the MFLB and INH for a bit (my main devices) and trying something that feels like a hybrid of the two.

I hear ya on that, jka. I've run across a few vapes that weren't easy enough out of the gate for me to rip myself away from what I know works well...the VG Coil for one. I expect to have some of these issues with this vape as well, but with the lineup of people in this thread that are stoked on it, I'm sure the patience will reward me. You should probably come from the other end of the spectrum and start doing what you know will overwhelm the unit and back down into the sweet spot from there instead of finding it from the 'too hot' end of the spectrum.

Stop drawing while hitting. Go back to the basic method and establish how long you can hold the button down. Get that technique down first. You do have to pay attention because it's probably the most powerful portable you've used. On the other hand, I reached the point where I can taste what's happening now, so counting isn't critical for me.

The only reason I bought this device is because the heavy hitters of this forum heavily endorsed this (they aren't shills because their posts prove that). Everything has a learning curve, some more than others. Especially since this is still in its infancy...

I'm interested to hear from people who have used 3.7v imr batteries and their timing methods.

3.7v IMR high drain cells will burn the element red hot in 5 seconds... not recommended. We will have a mod out for the FV soon which will have what you are looking for (wink wink)…

oh, and before you go running off to get some high drain IMRs, give the stock cells a chance first! the FV is a very powerful vape on stocks, and will not disappoint any heavy hitter with its RAW performance.

Mine is finally showing "out for delivery". Stayed home today to finish some bathroom renos.
Yep, that's my story, or excuse?
Can't wait, and testing with 3.7 is definitely on my list. After I get my spars into the 3.2 volt.
My buddy received his Friday and is enjoying it immensely. He said it was combusting too easy and discovered it did not have the second screen installed. He had to use one of the freebies from FV. He is loving it for his home office use as can just stop for a puff and not have to feel he has to finish it.
Not fair as I ordered first, but it was the weekend. :ugh:
Definitely getting excited.

Whoa...it just sunk in that I can get FV,a couple screens and a dual battery charger with 2 batteries for less than 180 bucks. Really? Reviews mention ultra fast heat times and a higher than average learning curve. Really? Then count me in.
I dig that it's not "idiot proof" I loved the Porsche reference Pakalo used a few pages back. A 911 is a very finely tuned sports car that takes time and skill to master. Get it right and its pure driving nirvana. Get it wrong and it will snap-spin and try to kill you. I'm going to enjoy this! I mean anybody can breathe vapor from a bag, right? I like things that take a little skill to use correctly. I'm sure I'll get a few phlegm launching lung-busters at first. But eventually I'll learn all the subtle little tricks to producing any density vapor in want, when I want it. The price just seals the deal.
Hell I blow through a couple hundred every weekend at the strip club. So I skip a weekend, score some bud and get a cool Vape to play with. Much more fun than going out then waking up with a bad hangover,no money and a Wife that wants to know why I'm covered in stripper-glitter and shame.
I'd be stupid not to try one out. Worse case scenario,it breaks or just sucks. Strip it out,run to the porn shop for a few parts and at least I'll be able to fuck it. Pretty much a win-win situation IMHO.
Anyhoo,my order is going out today. Should get it by Saturday, and be divorced By Monday.

I tried this. As FlashVAPE said, definitely not recommended. It reaches combustion in 5 seconds and that includes pulling on it to cool things off. It heats up so fast that it is difficult to get a hit before the cherry glows.

No, the hard facts from the man who makes it. What makes you think he didn't actually test what you're guessing at?

Nobody says you can't, they're saying you shouldn't. Big difference.

The correctly sized battery (for the design) is more power than needed (by a long shot) IMO still more would make it still harder to control....if you don't wreck the vape trying.

Your call.

I'll go ahead and ask the obvious if this thing becomes a hit...

Can I use my MFLB stock charger for these batteries so I can charge them both at once? And can I use these batteries in my MFLB? How about the stock MFLB batteries in this thing?

Heh, the LB uses NiMH AAs. These are 18650 LiFePO4s.

No, sorry, not even close to the same. FV uses a 18650 size LiFePO4 (3 Volts) not a 14500 size NiMH (1.2 Volts). MFLB batteries are much too small and much to low in voltage here. The FV is too big to work (physically) and would probably make the box explode......

sorry my friend, but the answer is no, no, and no...

MFLB uses 1.2v AA batteries. FV uses 3.2V LiFePO4 18650 batteries, which means different size, different voltage, different everything.

If you attempt to put the FV battery in the MFLB (and vice versa), it wouldnt fit. If you were somehow able to make it fit with mods, you will most likely light your MFLB on fire!

I'll go ahead and ask the obvious if this thing becomes a hit...

... not a matter of "if", but rather "when".... IMHO

no shit? thanks...I thought we were using AA's here.

One of the reasons I didn't become a MFLB power user was my disinterest in learning about better batteries, thus my ignorance. Glad to see I won't have to think that hard over here!

The 3.7 would be very good for BBQ mini-sausages... but don't forget to clean the FV before vaping !!! :brow::freak:

Im very sorry Your Highness, and everyone else here, as we are in the middle of a cart update at the moment... and there may be intermitten outages. Our site is secured with 256bit RapidSSL cert, but our webmaster prob turned it off temporarily during the update. If you are concerned about site security, you can always manually put HTTPS:// in the url to be redirected to the secure section of the site from any page.

The google captcha code for our cart started having issues several days back, and we are in the process of resolving this matter, so we had to turn off the account sign-up page's direct link from homepage for the time being. What you can do is add what you'd like to purchase in your cart, and when you checkout, there will be the option to signup or complete payment as a guest. We found that this was the only way at the moment to avoid seeing this error, even though the google captcha itself was already removed from the account login page. But if you go from the cart >> checkout >> account login/signup, there are no issues with this captcha error. Not being an PHP expert myself, I really dont know why this is happening or how to quickly resolve it... so we are relying on our webmaster to update the cart in order to make it fully functional again.

we are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause to all members, please accept our appologies while we make the necessary adjustments to bring our site back to 100%.... we thank you for your understanding!
