Discontinued Epicvape EV-1/EV-2

I got my EV-2 on Christmas Eve just before we were about to head out of town, what a wonderful treat! I ordered a bunch of accessories (direct draw, extra whip kit, epik) so I won't have any immediate needs.

The EV-2 is a beautiful, display worthy piece of art. I love the eloquent design and the natural wood finish. Andy's beliefs on clean and sustainable production closely match my own and so I am proud to have a work like this in my home.

This vaporizer is one part of my transition from combustion. While I don't have a ton of experience vaporizing I did my research and feel like I have made educated decisions so far. With that disclaimer, here are my thoughts on the EV-2:

* Get the direct draw stem for a super smooth combustion to vaporization transition. Hitting with the direct draw stem feels to me like hitting a small bubbler. Very intuitive. I pull the stem out after my hit to simulate a carburetor effect.
* I am impressed with the efficiency of this device but some of that is because I recently switched from combustion. I can get 4-5 solid hits from what would normally burn in 1 with my hitter. I have had good success with all sizes of loads but prefer to keep things loose instead of packing. I like loading with the "straw method".
* The default whip provides a cooler/smoother hit than the direct draw stem and can be handy for a group. I don't use it that often because I prefer the more compact direct draw system.
* When I am done vaping I pop the aromatherapy bowl on and walk away. Convenience!

I am currently looking into GonG attachments and will update here if I find something that works for me better than what has already been mentioned.

Overall this vape is going to play a huge part in me staying combustion free. It is my daily driver and quite the work horse.

It was a pleasure reading through this thread to understand the history of the device and how far it has come, picking up some good knowledge along the way. Thanks for making such a wonderful vape Andy!

PP, an 18/18 male/male joint should work.

Thanks kingofnull.

I am trying to find something has an easily replaceable screen setup. Some kind of a hybrid between the attachments below that I can pop the thimble screen on and stick between the EV-2 and a water device.

Has anyone seen a device that combines these in some way?
* Aqua Lab Tech 18mm
* Vapor whip with quick change screen

I seem to recall running across something like what I am thinking of during my journeys through the internet over the last month but can't find what's in my mind. Maybe someone here can kick me in the right direction.

Professor Pickles,
Someone recently had one custom blown. I forget who at the moment, but fishbone was the artist. Mind you it was a large order, not sure just one item would be sufficient. You could always find someone local though

Just received my unit today and i am very happy! andy threw in an extra whip kit which is awesome because i needed it. i am currently vaping some mmj banana and it is KILL! epic provides incredibly tasty hits..EPICLY VAPED!Great video review hammerzeit! You and I both love the epic! It is a vaporizer that replaces all your other ones :) I found that using small glass bubblers or bongs work best with the epic. "AHHHH SHITTTTTT" I still do this! Lol!

Wishing I had jumped on the EV-2 band wagon back when. Here's hoping the E-Nano makes me just as happy as the EV has made you guys.

Personally I find myself using boost 90% of the time. The size and density of clouds are alot bigger than normal. Although with boost mode the vapor is slightly harsher compared to normal.

Edit: when I do use "normal" it is for the first 2-3 hits only, the flavor is incredibly pure..

I don't use boost too often because I am scared about forgetting to turn it off :) How do you guys remember? Do you know what the risks are of leaving boost on for an extended period of time?

edit: I [use] boost about 10% of the time, usually to speed up a session when I am about to head out the door or when with a group

I've searched and searched to no avail: Can anyone give some comparisons between the EV-2 and the Underdog? How does the vapor production compare?

Ah yes, I got the UD confused with the HI. Maybe you can compare the EV-2 to the HI at some point.

The EV2 is so much more of a vape than the HI, it can handle alot more herb and the hits are heartier IME. You can use a whip with the thing where you dont with the HI. You dont have to wait a while for it to heat up, a couple minutes is all it takes and your off!

Gotta second Ed's opinion. Neither my UD, or my HI ever produced the copious vapor released by the EV-2. They were smaller, more exotic, less effective to my head. I was really anticipating the arrival of the nano. This excitement was quickly put to rest by the EV-2, I dig the larger footprint, and the set it and forget it temp adjustment. The direct draw wand will handle anything you throw at it. Caution! I have gotten real close to combusting when the wand was totally full. Take the time and find your sweet spot in regards to temp setting.

I got myself a new log y'all! The rod spun really easy and seats very well in the unit, airflow is just right, the inner hole is the 5/16" ID so there is now need for an Oring. Put it on boost and cranked out some really hearty clouds. This is what I came up with, oh and had it in the unit for over an hour, there is no discoloring on the teflon at all, its very solid and an easy adapter.

Is there any possible way of getting this adapter from you for use with PD stems? Pretty please!

would this or the ev-2 be the choice for when my only piece of glass I'd like to run it through is a 18.8mm direct inject male joint? Do both come with that cool basket screen set like the cloud? A mini cloud would be bad ass if I could put a basket of bud in my DI dave goldstein and put the epic vape on top and be away. Solo stems too small? Or would those work for the nano? Thanks just now getting into log vapes :)

edit: I see on epicvape site , that the direct draw stem does not fit nano. What kind of glass adapters work with the nano? There are no pictures on the site.
