Just wanted to share my latest invention.

Always had a problem with setting my wand down without spilling or breaking something. And adding a topping of oil/hash became a balancing act.

After much trial and a couple hours of bending, a cheap DIY wand holder. :science:

dsc4825w.jpg

V1.1 Used a Large Binder Clip, 2" Wide, 1" capacity. Didn't leave much room to insert wand.

dsc4824.jpg

V2. Large metal piece on a medium binder clip. I cut a piece of SSV hose to aid in friction/grip. Without it I wouldn't trust it to carry the weight. With a smaller clip there is more room to insert the wand.

dsc4826fn.jpg

V2 in use. You can insert from bottom and it clips into place. Or slide it down from the top.

I hope others find this useful. Enjoy!

I wanted two hoses and variety is the spice of life. I was wrong, I looked, I got pink and dark blue cause they match nicely lol. I didn't think I had gotten red when I typed it but didn't want to go look either hehe. The way I saw it there was no rush so when someone was going to order I was adding on. I got two more pokers as well since they are real handy on lots of vapes.
From what I can tell on their web page, there is "blue" and "purple" - no dark blue. I think the pink and purple are my fave candidates for my burgundy splatter SSV. I'll be picking up a frog or mushroom poker, screens, and an hc shim.

There is a blue in the middle and a dark blue all the way to the right which is the one I got.

Kewl holder...I was trying to make one of those to hold my cell. There are instructions on line. I have thought of putting nails in my nightstand or something similar to a remote control holder. I will get around to it eventually and post pics. I think the nails would work well because you can leave the hose on and that would be its home when not in use. I wanted to make a hole section on the side of my stand for all the glass and whatnots. I did bend a paper clip into kind of in a U shape then pinched in so you can push the glass in and then it is held by the indent in the wand. I just don't trust the sturdiness of a paper clip even though it was heavy duty. The idea itself will work great with a different metal. I was also thinking like those roll balls that hold brooms if they make smaller ones that will work great.

SSV w/ Standard HC, LSV HC, thermovape all,
Here is my modified SSV, with LSV heater cover and shorty wand, but i must say i prefer the standard heater cover, with the Vapor Bros mini whip. I find that if i only load like a 1/4 full and vape at a slightly higher temp i get the best monster hits, but if i wanna hit it like the LSV, just switch heater covers, I wish I would have gotten the longer wand because the vapor is pretty hot from the shorty wand, also is a pic with my bubbler hooked up to it, sorry cant figure out how to post pics, they will follow soon

Just upload it to postimage.org or tinypic. I'd love to see this setup.

So after long last and much debate on what vape to buy, I finally picked up a SSV today. They only had the ground glass available, but I was going to order a standard anyways. Regardless, despite the "learning curve" there is supposed to be, it got me and my 2 friends ripped.

I am very satisfied.

Can someone link me or write me a good tutorial on how to use this thing, because basically I get 2 or 3 good hits out of this thing with nice clouds then almost nothing, I feel like im doing something wrong, idk if its with pack, how im pulling, or the whip but I tried everything I could think of.

Try looking up one of tokinglx's videos on him and his ssv. He taught me everything I needed to know. I only disagree with him not using a grinder and I don't personally like the standard wand either. I find myself getting better hits with my GonG.

I've been having the same problem. I split the bowls with my friend and we generally get 3-4 big inhales each, then nothing.

I will say that just keep playing around with it. We've been getting bigger and more hits just from practice. We play with the heat, stirring, everything and we are slowly learning.

I think it just takes time. We got some really brown looking remnants yesterday though, made me happy ;)

I usually get 3 nice cloudy hits and maybe 1 OK hit. After that though no more vapor comes through!

After using this about a month I cringe when my friends want to roll soon much wasted weed

I must be doing something wrong or right since it seems like the wand never runs out of vapor...I toss it in the ABV jar after the taste gets bad. I have my setting at or a little before 12 no water. I fill 1/4 of the wand like was suggested to me ok sometimes 1/2 cause I missed.

I have the same problem/ not a problem as you Dreamerr. Once the ABV gets a certain color I dump it.

Lol, same here. My SO can hardly finish a wand, it takes us 20-30 hits. Even then it hardly looks brown.

I've found that you need to ease into the sweet spot. You may not get vapor your first or even second hit, but don't fret, it takes a bit for the glass to heat up and the vapor to start flowing.

Also as I mentioned before, dialing in a SSV with two separate users hitting it can be counter-productive. The draw speed and the distance your product is from the HC hole makes a big difference.

And as always, don't forget to stir, stir, stir.

Yeah, I don't vape enough that I care to use my weed thoroughly. I use a little weed and also dump it past a certain point. I'll always flush the weed for a new session as well even if I didn't use much of it at first.

Yo two guys and an ssv that have no vape:D. I personally never had to think about using the ssv it came natural to me. Don't fret other vapes that others have no issue with are nightmares to me till I learn them like the solo which all swear have no learning curve. I swear the ssv has none so there you go.

I think what some of us do natural some have to learn. What was said in the last few posts made me realize you aren't heating the herb properly. Watch a few videos and you will be pleasantly surprised. I didn't watch any or I would recommend one.

Yeah, what he said. If you get thick vapor your first hit, your temperature is too high probably. I find the ssv works best with long steady draws.
