RezBlock /Cranberry Extract

Assuming its safe, would you vape through anything other than water if it offered some benefit?

We have a theory the RezBlock is enhancing the effectiveness of the herb, by transferring more of the vapor to your lungs, since its not really sticking to the glass, nor really collecting in large amounts.

Some break down occurs, as the water/RezBlock is agitated. You can see a larger piece start to collect, but the agitation will cause it to break down. It will stay suspended in the water, making it opaque. However, it is in far less amounts than prior to RezBlock. That and the personal experience of feeling better and more efficient use of my meds, leads me to believe (and others) that the RezBlock aids, not in the extraction... but in the transfer.

Its a spray filled with water mixed with a high dose of citric acid and glycerin, it kills odors and remove trace deposits while being odorless and food safe. I spray in and it kind of helps maintain the cleanliness longer

You WTF lol

Edit : apart that you guys should try the spray solution, I have two, one strong 4x and a weak version who doesn't need rinse. My glass has never been so clean

I cracked and finally washed my main piece with detergent (3 days). Once a week is still a goal

Am I the only one to check my bub temperature before hitting ? When it gets below 20°c, a lot of condensation occurs

Roger, i didn't know that about the temp...i think i'll warm up my glass before use now with either hot water or a blow dryer. I've been recently experimenting with/without water and noticing effects noticably greater without water. So i think i'll try the rezblock and compare it to dry. I don't think I can use regular water anymore....I think I notice much more pooh on the glass with water, than dry.

So I have been trying out the REZ and I have been enjoying it. At first I think I might have used too much which led to a frothy experience that was a little splash-backy (if that's a word) but talk about the bubble stacking! :ko: It was like taking a bubble bath and pulling a binger at the same time! After using it a few times and in various tubes, I have really come to enjoy it! Plus it really helps to see less stuff building up on my glass. I never go more than two days before I clean a tube anyway, (and use only distilled water) but normally I would see build up after three good ELB's or so. I haven't really noticed much of a difference in flavor, but the more cooked hits might seem a little milder with the citric acid in the mix.

What I do now is I take a 20 oz plastic water bottle and fill it half full with distilled water. Then I add about 10 small drops of Rez Block. (the pink stuff) I then give it a little shake and then use the plastic bottle to fill my tubes. This ensures I am not using too much.

It is a little expensive (and sadly the coupon code I was given didn't work) but the day I ordered they were also having trouble with their shopping cart. I had success using Firefox to complete my transaction and shipping was very quick!

Interested to see what others think about this. Thanks t-dub for the heads up about this!!

It's definitely going to be in the line-up, or some variation of RezBlock. I'm impressed and very happy with my purchase, as I'm sure the rest of us in here are as well.

I have some pure cranberry extract pills sitting around. Would these work if I took the pill apart and added it to water?

Maybe. It depends on what's inside of it. Is it JUST cranberry extract? No fillers or binders or anything else? If it were me I would play it safe and order a small amount of clean powdered extract from a reputable vendor. You're gonna be subjecting it to hot vapors and inhaling said vapors after they go through the water... Safety never hurts :) just my :2c:

There are other items listed in the ingredients like citric acid and purified water. I think the trick is not using just juice, but a concentrate thereof. Who knows though? Adding Cranberry juice in small amounts might have the same effect to some degree...

That brings us back to what I mentioned earlier (in this thread I think) : sugar content. That's a breeding ground for bacteria and mold. I think the citric and salt in RezBlock helps slow it down, as well as how clean your storage space is. If I had to use cranberry juice I would dump it out as soon as I'm done with it and not let it just sit there. You also have to take into account the fact that you're introducing cannabinoids and such into the water medium when you vape. Not to mention the stickiness that's left afterwards...

I get peace of mind knowing RezBlock is safe and doesn't contain sugar. Like I said, if you're using anything with sugar, cleanliness should be top priority. Although I have to say... a gallon of cranberry juice is way cheaper than a gallon of RezBlock

And I do think cranberry juice would have similar effect compared to RezBlock, but that stuff is made to be used as a medium. Cranberry juice... is a medium for washing down food or thirst

at the risk of sounding like an idiot...so this stuff keeps condensation from happening after it leaves the water? The buildup on my bubbler is thickest on the downstem, non-existent in the water, and thinnest after the water. How does this stuff keep it from condesing on the glass after it exits the water?

Seriously though... What is Glycerin (RezBlock has Vegetable Glycerin). While that link isn't specific to vegetable glycerin, which is in RezBlock, I think this better explains part of the purpose.

Glycerin is a neutral, sweet-tasting, colorless, thick liquid which freezes to a gummy paste and which has a high boiling point. Glycerin can be dissolved into water or alcohol, but not oils. On the other hand, many things will dissolve into glycerin easier than they do into water or alcohol. So it is a good solvent.

Glycerin is also highly "hygroscopic" which means that it absorbs water from the air. Example: if you left a bottle of pure glycerin exposed to air in your kitchen, it would take moisture from the air and eventually, it would become 80 per glycerin and 20 percent water.

P.S. I do find that it still will have a tendency to sometimes collect in pink blotches (as my pictures showed). Typically, just swishing the water around, will clear that up. Another way to lessen it, is something t-dub suggested, of swishing/priming the piece, before the draw... getting all those areas, that typically stay dry, or mostly dry.

I plug my bubbler and gently shake it before a session to coat the whole air path with the fluid

About the first IR lamp I got : it was working well for heating up the glass but the annoying fan noise and slight plastic odor turned me off, its getting back. I ordered another type of theses, this time without fan and plastic parts. It's meant to be suspended so I will have to work my room a bit.

Now I simply dump the solution after every session in a glass, then I put it in hot water before the next session so it gets hot but not too much, getting my whole piece at the perfect temperature when I pour it in. (I slowly turn it around to distribute heat) This changes everything. I can't seem to medicate properly on a stone cold piece. The vapors sticks to the walls a lot. It is snowy and cold outta here so that's why it's making such a big difference. The pieces gets cold low as 19°c. The minimal temp is around 26°c. Best is 32°c.

Well it looks like I signed up for this bandwagon. I guess I got lucky on timing since I found another website having a deal on it this weekend.

http://fab.com/sale/16327/product/313875/

Its only worth it if you buy at least 2 bottles, because shipping is 8 bucks. But for 2 bottles it comes out to be just under 38 shipped. If you order more then 2 is def worth it, and if you spend $75 shipping is free. If anyone does plan on buying it please let me know so I can send you my referral link and get some money back.

I cant wait to give this stuff a go. Now I just need to order some PBW.

Alright so I found it to be pretty effective for my situation, where I went from changing the water everyday/every couple bowls to... about 3 or 4 days now? I dabbed about .2g of some homemade BHO between last night and this morning, as well as around 6-10 trenches from my Launch Box. As you can see, at the end of it, there was some grimey buildup. It looks like a lot because of the small volume and size of my water pipe. All I did between the first and second picture was dump the RezBlock out, filled it up with warm water three times and then dumped it out. I see one tiny pinpoint spot inside in a corner that didn't wash off, but it's literally so small I only saw it because I was specifically looking for it. From 1 1/2 - 2 feet away the can looks perfectly clean. Right up to and a bit past the bend of the neck, there's some buildup which is expected because the RezBlock doesn't come into contact with it. I can easily clean that off when it becomes a problem with some ISO, but it seems that the anti bioadhesion thing is working incredibly well because there's hardly any buildup at all on the mouthpiece. In all the messing around to find the perfect ratio I only used up an ounce of it, so I've still got 3/4 of the bottle left. I don't know if with my rate of use there's any benefit to getting the concentrated formula. It seems like it would just be slightly less work to drip a drop or two out of the container, as opposed to using an oral syringe to pull ~2.6-2.8ml of fluid and adding it through the male joint. Seems more like a convenience thing unless the concentrate works noticeably better?

It could be that that little spot wasn't clean to begin with and the resin stuck to it, even with the Rezblock. Also, I noticed that you are using the older formula Rezblock.

I've only had mine a day but I love it. Absolutely no buildup on the walls of the bubbler so far, and it's gotten lots of use. I got the concentrated formula and put the appropriate amount of drops in a water bottle (as was suggested earlier in this thread). Now, when I need to refill the bub, I'll have some ready to use with no guesswork as to how many drops to put in each piece I use it in.

where is the best place to buy this stuff now?? i want to be sure to get the concentrate

Yeah that's what I was thinking as well mom. It's on the top corner of the can so on the opposite side of the RezBlock. I am indeed using the regular formulation, which is why I was asking if it was worth getting the concentrated one or if it was just the difference of whether I would measure out or add drops.

This stuff keeps the insides clean and makes it way easier to actually clean it out at the expense of not being able to reclaim. A small price to pay when I enjoy clean glassware as opposed to harvesting condensation.

Wait What not being able to reclaim is a deal breaker for me. I think, hope the reclaim would still be fine maybe RezBlock might effect the taste some.
