Discontinued The Persei Vaporizer for herbs and concentrates.

okay so I am loving the Herc but I was wondering if anyone shares the concern of the heating element base having a small leak where oil gets trapped under the heating element. I feel like mine does this and I know the whole cart gets really hot should I be worried about electronics getting that hot and not being completely sealed off or is that concern to OCD? I love this thing I have hardly used much herb since I got it and it seems very effective at vaping wax to me I get clouds just as big as the infamous cera videos in good lighting so that is not the issue for me in fact i find it hard to find the sweet spot of not holding the button down so long that I am coughing my brains out and just getting nice fat rips that I can manage, this thing kicks my ass lol:rockon:

Yes, the oil getting under the heating element is the main problem at the moment, but not for health reasons as much as having to wait for that ceramic heater to be filled with oil (it eats about .2) before you really start to get the real Herculean rips that the cart is capable of. G and company are currently working on a fix for it, but it's safe to keep ripping so no need to worry.

Good because I don't want to stop ripping it! yeah I dont mind sacrificing .2 for the greater good of the herc but i can see how that could frustrate some (it would be if I didn't have a decent supply) but I would still sacrifice for it anyway this thing is a boss... Tastes super bomb and I like how you load smaller amounts at a time vs a half gram in to the old carts it helps me keep track of how fast im going through my wax. I just dab a little every time I want a rip like .1 or maybe less and then go to work for about a minute or two session and I am put on my butt every time... I will post some good vids of some of the clouds this thing can hammer out

I usually weigh the cart empty, and then weigh the cart full. You can weigh the cart after your sessions, and you can tell how much is left in the cart that way.

Since i've seen a few people asking about Hercules techniques, i thought perhaps those of use that have had it a few months could share where we are at?

Personally I've taken to using two seperate techniques. The first is when i've loaded fresh material(usually .1 or .2) into the hercules. Typically i will hold the button for 10s (roughly the time it takes the element to start glowing red if it wasnt hidden) and draw at a slow to medium pace for probably about 15 or 20 secconds. Release button between hits, allowing for about the same 10s warmup each time. In a group situation it seems to be best to have no cooldown time, pass with the button held in for the most part.

The second technique is for when the tank looks empty. In this case most of the oil is either in the porus part of the tank or pooled up on top of the heater. I hold the button and keep the mouthpiece near my ear and wait to hear the sizzle. This takes between 20 and 30 seconds. In this case i draw slowly for about 30 more seconds and it produces wonderfuly huge clouds. I am using a chopped up Volcano liquid screen (VSS) which as discussed farther back in the thread seems to help keep the oil pool at the bottom closer to the ceramic heater. In a group situation here it doesnt seem to matter if the button is held in while passing or not.

Personally, I load a fat dab's worth of wax into an empty tank and then hold the button down for about a minute without pulling. After 60 seconds, I start pulling slow and consistently until I literally can't anymore. The result is a massive rip equal to a dab off of a TI nail, only tastier.

Yeah well just without the heat shield the melting plastic thing sparked my ocd ( i know it was just a couple freak cases but I just get in a mood sometimes) and I just started attaching pieces of my Supreme vaporizer to cool it and make the tube longer so the Mouth piece wouldn't get so hot. At first i was using the nipple ofthe supreme for the mouth piece but now im using an old silicone sleeve for an old cart. but I love this thing its awesome

Modify away brotha, also further more tests of running hercules none stop draining two sets of batteries did nothing to the outside case or any part, either way the newer replacements are in production.

yeah I figured I'd be fine either way, even when i was skeptical it didn't stop me from using it I have found a new love... Tried the carts before but I like the herc setup way better myself now i just need to save up for the iris v2 top and ill be locked and loaded. This thing is a monster and I have never been in to wax till now. I want to test it with herb but need to boil and clean it (if not first then after so i dont combust with the wax) but I am more than impressed with the cloud capabilities... Everyone is so hyped on the cera producing clouds (so was I and still am) but I think that is just because herc users arent posting vids (which I consider to have just as big of clouds as I've seen from the cerea vids) but my cera pre order bug was killed with this thing.. I have to make sure not to take tooo big of rips or else I just get KO'd by a coughing fit so idk I hope the cera's are amazing and everyone loves them but I think I am good with this setup that just fell in to my lap :) vape on :peace:

Keep old parts but when time is right ill announce it and you guys will call us up and provide us with your order number and verify address and we will ship out replacements.
I have some medicine on hold until it is all sorted out.
In the meantime the PERSEI is so useful with the carts.
So many Battery/Cart Combinations!
However the IRIS seems like a real practical device and remains on my bucket list!

So how do I get my hands on and iris top

Welcome to the fun.

I understand you're wanting one, they're pretty keen all right, but it was a very limited lot of 200 (maybe only 100?) discounted for field evaluations....which you're reading now. Those are, I think, all sold and no more are planned.

However, the feedback from all this is going into the final version which we'll be given chance to upgrade to when it comes out. My guess would be early Spring on that? FWIW you really want the improved version, if you read carefully you'll note oversights like if you turn it down too far it jumps to full blast without warning....it doesn't stop, flash, beep or do anything but run the voltage to 6.0 and waits to see what it can blow up. Not a good feature to most. Nothing quite like having $40 or even $80 of PG in a cart running too hot and having the power quadruple on you instead of going down. It doesn't taste very good burned stuck in a burned out cart.

Doesnt seem like much of a difference, but 5.8 is my magic number for now with the 5 ohmer
I have been studying batteries lately and game across 2x 3.0V 18350 = 6.0V's
With a 5.0 cart it works well.
As the batteries fire a bit the voltage will slowly decrease.
Afraid to use the 7.4V setup burning my carts so will save the 7.4V's for the HERCULES.
I see were the IRIS TOP would be of a great benefit.
I plan on getting version 2.0 IRIS when available.
For now I'm exploring batteries!

I was under the impression 18350's were 3.7v meaning two of them would actually be 7.4v(actually 8.4 fresh off the charger) not 6v?

Hi. I just got a persei kit with the hercules cart 7.4 and i got a couple questions.

-Can i use 18650 on a 7.4 hercules on a persei?

-I tried using 2 18350s and it worked well, but after the batteries ran out of charge and tried charging it, it wouldnt charge. The light indicator stayed green. This was the first time using the bats out of the box. Did i get a set of DoAs?

You can find them pretty easily!
6.0v is working with my set up.
Next I will give 7.4v set a go!
