OF, how is that epoxy holding up?

Very well for what time I've had to play with it. I've been busy elsewhere all day and plan to get back to it later tonight. I think it's going to be awkward for LL (need to play more) but I kinda like it for oils. It turns out my index finger presses it better than my thumb....at least more naturally. Latching switches are important, key to many, it's a design goal I think very important but I also think the momentary one has merit. In a way I'm glad it didn't get delayed.....

Sounds to me like the current pin/switch design is gonna operate like a live grenade. Pull the pin & watch out!!

That's about it. The idea occurred to TV for sure, the joke came with the sample I saw the other day. We joked about the John Wayne version you pull with your teeth.....

Question.

So are the units all sold out? And are they redesigning it in the meantime? I tried to wade my way through, but could not get the correct information. I did check the site as well.

No, as I understand the plan once the pre orders are done they will build more for stock and ship normally from there. I don't think we're going to have any major redesigns, TV paid a LOT for tooling to make the ceramic parts and signed contracts for years out to lock in prices.

Maybe.

The only things that changed since we first saw the Cera is the side switch does not turn the device on or off. You must take the side pin out to operate the device. The switch on the bottom you have to hold on to keep the Cera on. Eventually everyone will get a switch that latches so you don't have to hold the device on

The Cera MUST have 2 switches : one that latches (LL cart.) and one you have to hold on (E-Liquid cart.)....... hard to keep your finger all the LL sessions !...... and hard to haven't a "pushbutton" when you take the Cera as an e-cig...
What says TET about that ??

They're including both momentary and latching switches from my understanding with the pre-orders ...

I'm thinking we'll be able to temporarily rig something up that will keep the momentary button pushed in so we can go 'hands-free'. Maybe as simple as getting a zip tie and a pliable piece of wire a couple inches long. Put the wire across the bottom and secure that on Cera with the ziptie so you can push the wire in and the momentary button will stay recessed. Not sure how much pressure you need on the momentary button though. Any thoughts?

.....on a sad note, I found this pic surfing. Those would've looked pretty awesome on Cera I must say.

They'll be shipping preorders with the momentary switch. When the latching switches are ready, they will send them out to everyone who received a unit with a momentary switch and you'll be able to keep both. So you will be able to choose which switch you want to use based on your preferences.

The final thing is a different battery. You get 2 batteries instead of 1 for right now. Eventually the orders will ship with the 2900 battery with the option of trading in the 2 batteries they give you for a 2900.
Would just like to clarify it for people just checking in. You will receive one more battery than you order. There will be an option to exchange them back in at your own shipping expense to send them back in once the 2900mAH batteries are available.

Hey OF,

How pocket friendly is the Cera? Is it the same diameter as a sonicare? How noticeable in a pocket?
Hi SV,

I'm not OF, but I took the pic in post#2940 when he visited and gave me a shot at CERA. The CERA slipped into the front pocket of my jeans very easily. As for noticeable? Depends on how tight you wear your pants!! (LOL). Anyway, as you can see it's a little bit smaller in diameter than the Sonicare. Hope this helps.

The switch changes have made me consider canceling, but I think I'd be more likely to switch from LL to EO. I haven't tried oils yet though, so that makes me hesitant.

I think I'll keep my order in though and see what happens. Still thinking about oil... :)

Edit: I have access to oils as a medicinal user, just been happy with my dried herb so far.

Is that a Cera in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?

Maybe he Cera will bring fanny packs back into fashion.

Why is your personal massager smoking?

all good in the hood.
Sorry for the dumb question earlier, but the site was down.

One more question. If I want to be able to use the cera with botanicals, oils and liquids, how does one do that? I mean do I buy one kind and then specific parts to convert it?

You will select the Cera with 1 of the 3 cartridges for $249

http://thermovape.force.com/IdaSearch

Then you will get the option to add the other 2 cartridges along with a battery and charger (there will be other accessories you can add also).

Then when you get the Cera you unscrew the cartridge in it and screw in the one you want to use.

As NN said, I found it surprisingly 'pocked friendly'. It's basically one inch in diameter and about 6 long but pretty heavy. If you're standing and get either end started in it drops straight if there's room and being basically a cylinder it comes out very easily when you 'pinch' grab either end. At least it does for me. I wear trousers 'medium', loose enough to I can grab my car keys easily but tight enough to stay on my waist......counter fashion as that seems to be.

Sort of it is I think it's surprisingly easy to put in your pocket, and you can do it in a hurry when the top is too hot to hold.....I tried just in case some might be interested in that mode.

I continue to be amazed by it, as most who I've seen try it. Even a couple of the serious 'nail heads' have been mighty impressed, high prase indeed IMO.

It has not fouled much if at all yet, good quality concentrates. We did try to clean it quickly one night to change strains. The guys there had some special oil they wanted to try (they got a bit excited with the CO2 extract I had there and wanted to try 'some real stuff'. We soaked it in ISO, shakeing it for seveal minutes, it got most of the 'old oil' out but we had a devil of a time getting the ISO out. Rinsing it in the sink a lot didn't help (hot water included). IMO you need to boil it or heat it (or wait a very long time?) to do that. We could not boil were we were but I'm sure that would help. It's a lot bigger than Revolution/DART in there but basically the same.

You can always flame it, but I'm not big on the idea of red hot lumps of SS in informal settings around guys who may have justg 'used up the last of the oil' in the traditional manner. I really don't cleaning it will be an issue with most owners, Revolution/DART doesn't seem to be?

Okay for those who pre-order..... but what about future customers ? TET will send 2 differents switches to each order ?..... I hope so because if we order a LL cart. and a EL cart., we will need the two ! (or TET will send a momentary switch with each EL cart....... ??)
It would be really helpful if TET would clarify this issue

How can they possibly clarify an issue that hasn't happened? Isn't trying to foretell the future how we got into all this discord? They tell folks what they think will happen then when that doesn't play out.......

My understanding is the original plan (now obsolete....) was to start with the latching switch and later to introduce the momentary version as a option (along with the other stuff to come). Supply delays with that switch forced them to move up the schedule for the momentary switch....which they are now trying to finish design on at Flank Speed. My guess is when the (originally planned) latching switch is available and being shipped free momentary switches will end. I'd expect them to cost what the spare (latching) end caps do.

Sending two complete end caps to every owner would jack the price up....something folks seem against.

Remember, the Cera is modular so it is designed to give the user options. At some point in time, after the official launch and production/sales get flowing, I'd assume TET will offer different switches and whatnot to satisfy various customer needs and wants. Sure the extra parts will cost, but it allows you to set up your Cera the way you most desire it for your preferences.

I think we're in the age of different classifications of "portables". While I'm sure the Cera is pocket-able, I just received a slightly bigger, similarly weighted flashvape, and while it works in the pocket for brief moments (from room to room, or from the car to a house)

I would never carry it and walk around, or bring it to a restaurant, or mingle with people who didn't know what that massive thing in my pocket was.

"microPortable" or ultrastealth vapes like the mflb, omicron,Pax,(flashvape mini?) are actually comfortable to wear and live with and as much as I love the FV, I still need my Pax for all those social occasions I can't afford to be seen with a bulging vape boner in my pocket :D

There was a ceraMini in the works correct? I'm still itching to try out that oil cart :spliff:

Cera mini has my attention too, hope they are able to produce it. If I am going to have a portable in my pocket I feel it should be pretty stealthy. I rarely use a purse or bag, I just never got into carrying one unless I am traveling or something. I'm all about pockets and not having too much bulk. Also from my point of view most of the situations where I am trying to vape out away from home would most likely be situations where stealth is key. Pax has filled this spot pretty good for now, but I love the idea of having a solid, built to last pocket vape. For now T1 and Ultra/Evo will keep me happy enough while we wait for Cera to mature.

I don't want to spread bad info, but I changed my order earlier this week. Initially I ordered 2 batteries, and this week TET stated I would receive 4 of the smaller ones (not 3).

I changed the order & will only receive 2 of the smaller batteries for $25, and with the $25 savings I added the LL cart. Win-win IMO.

Well I baught a pax 2 days ago and its small 2 inches smaller then the Cera and almost the Same width.
I hope the convection works just as well as the pax's conduction does.
The removable pin idea is kinda shitty I wish they would of had a better alternative I liked the on/off switch idea know I can only use it when I pull the pin causing a contact between the battery and heater. So I guess if I stuck a metal pin in there instead it would turn on then cause there is contact kinda redundant dont you think. I think people will make there own safety pin with a piece of exposing metal in between for contact same as it was before. The concept is so simple and it makes not a whole lot of sense to me.
I'm sure people will figure it out, adaptable pin lock if I loose it there has to be a alternative don't you think.
At least it wasn't the other way around it will only work with the pin. Lol
It's the same just with a tiny piece of the pin exposed with metal to make a contact again so simple just gomtomthe gallery on there sit and look at the first pic of the Cera looking into the core you can see the pin with blue plastic around it and partily exposed metal pin for contact.
So simple so sad

Well not simple but hey if you remove a pin to make it work plastic inserts metal pin instead and its reversed right come on no one is calling anyone stupid I'm just making a opinionated objective solution to a simple issue, I'm not saying I'd do it but it is possible it would work in theory right that's all I'm saying.
