What dispensary is going to urge you to buy less from them by vaporizing? They want you burning bunches of the stuff.....literally.

You should see the tear that run down their cheek when I mention using a vaporizer. It's not my fault I can't vape it fast enough, I keep getting too damn stoned

Careful, most all of them aren't up to the power Cera needs. It's a nominal one Ohm, most e-cig stuff considers that a short circuit failure. Persei (not a 510 thread) is the only one I know of off hand that's up to it. Many are good for 15 Watts involved (most aren't), but most of those I can identify won't drive carts under about 1.2 Ohms. Some of the 'batter and switch in a box' ones ironically might.

Ultra and T1 supplies are obvious first choices here I think. But AFAIK the "full range of e-cig mods" is the empty set? Guys might skate past the problem with the EL cart which is about 1.3 Ohms (right on the edge) at 10 Watts.

Finally, no 'perhaps' about it. TV will sell you the cart of your choice for Cera for $100. I have just such a 'single cart only' order in myself for a reserved EO cart for Pure Gold.

OF

Unless I'm mistaken, Cera isn't the only power supply capable of running the Cera carts (with a 510 adapter, of course). What about:

Precise ELA

PureSmoker LEGACY

Omega v1.1

and other such mechanical mods? They can use the same or similar batteries as the Cera and don't have any circuitry to current limit the battery output.

Please excuse my ignorance, but where on the Thermovape website can one order carts w/o a Cera body? The only listing which I was able to locate had a price of $0.00 for the carts.

Nothing to excuse, I can't make TV's web pages work well either. There may be other ways to do it, but if you want an oil cart alone, order the herb version of Cera, then add the separate oil cart. The go to the cart and remove the Cera. That's how I did it anyway.

And yes, (some) other supplies will work, no doubt about it. Ultra will I know (I've done it), that's the only one I've tried personally though and I know most will not. My concern is trusting guys will make plans like 'I'll be able to use my nifty XXX battery...' until we confirm XXX is up to the task. Wait until the adapter comes out and you can be 'that guy'?

I believe the vaporizer market will take off in next year. With new technology and battery advancement, it seems like sky is the limit for portable vaporizers.

Thanks for the battery links guys! Both places were sold out though. Probably from all of us. Lol. What chargers are you guying using? Looking to upgrade and price isn't an issue.

I will certainly keep everyone in the loop. The design is pretty straight forward. Just a few pieces to the puzzle needed. First few will be plain brass to see if it functions correctly.

Gave lighthound a call and now have 2 14500 on the way. The last 2 in stock! The rep said next week they will be restocked.

Hey man, saw you were going to machine your own heat sleeves for the Evo. I'm unfamiliar with it due to not having one (much less seen one IRL...) but from the looks of it, the sleeve has the built-in 4 90degree turns built into it on the top? And then the mouthpiece just goes in the escape hole. How are you gonna solve that dilemma? Will keep an eye out for your stuff!

I was planning on making a heat sleeve for the ultra power supply. I wanted something custom for heat protection.
We build injection molding dies where I work. If needed I could use our 5 axis cnc. Anything is possible as far as I am concerned.

Once I get an adapter made I probably will have to send it out to OF. Since he is the only person with a ceo core.

Hahaha damn alright, I get it now. Are you planning on extending it up to the switch housing, or just the actual outer body sleeve? With the AVA it doesn't get near as hot as my DART can get it... but then again, when I load a dab into the DART, I'm intending to kill it in as few hits as possible. If you do put them up for sale to us, can you give me a ballpark estimate on pricing?

I will definitely let you know pricing as soon as I can do a case study. I need to get pricing on materials. Also depends on how fast I can make/ machine them etc... I was only going to make a sleeve for the outer body. But a small insulator over the dart core could help keep heat inside. What does everyone think?

Just might have to start a little side company if there is enough demand.

Although I'd already tried the method you described, and failed, another attempt was made. Someone seems to have fixed the shopping cart so that removal of the Cera also removes the EO cart.

What a pain. I never had much fun browsing their store due to the website. Have you considered sending them an email?

I'm now likely to wait for a 510 or Ultra adapter or until we are able to get a full Cera outfit.

I didn't get my email from the ecig store. Might have to give them a call.
So ends up I have delrin stock already. Also have some brass stock for 510 to 3/8 24. Will spend my weekend designing adapter! Now to find a 510 die. already have the 3/8 tap. Let's get this made!

IIRC it's metric (makes sense), 7 mm with either a 1.0 or 1.5 pitch (have to measure it) One is the pitch for 601 (Omicron), the other 510.

Hey man, saw you were going to machine your own heat sleeves for the Evo. I'm unfamiliar with it due to not having one (much less seen one IRL...) but from the looks of it, the sleeve has the built-in 4 90degree turns built into it on the top?

Not to worry. The sleeve is Delrin, basically a tube that fits a drip tip. The drip tip carries a very small 'UFO' made of metal that does the four right angle turns. The Cera does this function in ceramics, but in Evolution it's much smaller and made of metal.

So here's my update so far. The first design is nearly complete. It will pretty much look like a standard 510 extension, just with a wider diameter to accept the 3/8 threading. It will hopefully have a sealed brass center pin insulated with ptfe. I am trying to source the Teflon tubing.

Just ordered:
1 3/8 24 tapered & bottoming tap
1 m7 x .5mm pitch die

It's starting to come together!

 do we know how the air flows into the Cera carts? Do they use the same air paths through the threads like the old style? I know there are notches around the adapter to allow air to pass, wondering if the Cera carts will require this in the adapter as well??

Excellent point Jam. I assumed that the ceo cart had air ports built into the core. Guess we kinda need someone with experience to answer this question. Where's OF?
Judging from the pictures on OF's mod, there might be no need for the air path notches.

But we all know assuming does not lead to solid answers.

We'll at least one of us does.....so yes, collectively we know....

Oh, I'm right over here......where are you?

You'd be right. The air vents are above the sealing shoulder on the connector, right where it enters the main body. No air is drawn in below that flat, the connector is sealed.

In Cera, the input air comes in the small holes to the area between the lower o-ring on the cart and the socket plate in the body......all that air comes from above that plate.
