Discontinued Vapir NO2

Special Agent 4Twenty!
The Solo stem empty ... inserted into unit is twice as restrictive as the NO2.
I do not have a DaVinci here

I have two classic Iolites. One silent, and one that is "souped up". They do vary.

About the restrictive draw and the NO2 now...
I have theories. Perhaps the top screen and the air path on the top piece of your unit gradually built up some particulates, and some resins where you did not totally dismantle and "refresh"... And you never noticed the gradually compiling restrictive nature... that is until you had a totally clean fresh unit.
OR... perhaps there was always some impediment to the flow in your original for some reason, and that was what you learned to use the NO2 with... so it became your fave.
Of these two theories, the first makes most sense to me.
STILL.... you are pursuing the recourse that is available, and resolution may be forthcoming~

Vito, your vape knowledge is ginormous and your comments are provocative. Excuse me I have some brown stuff on my nose (resin?).

Do you use the manufacturer recommended screens for the N02, or do you get aftermarket screens?

I contact Vapir, and there pretty much going to take care of me for now on after I submit warranty information on there site.

She told me that

there only one Model out there so they all should preform somewhat the same

maybe you received an defective NO2 and love the way it preformed?

personal preference

the list goes on!!! with that being said

I Pretty much explained everything I explained here to her.

She didn't know how to address the problem due to the fact that i'm the first customer to EVER call in mentioning that and she really didn't know what to tell me.

I'm being taking care of so I'm happy :D

Hey BE, thank you for posting what you found out. It is heartwarming to know that Vapir stands behind their warranty, and that they have provided you with exemplary customer service.

I use Vapir NO2 screens. I got a large number of them in the beginning, and so never ventured into "after market world"
Good job BE... I knew this would come out well if the right approach was taken.
Vito, your vape knowledge............stuff on my nose (resin?).
Thanks for the compliment...
The stuff on your nose is your targeting system. It brought you to this forum... and it is pointing you which way to look for answers and ideas. (This thread)

I have a question, ya'll! I am still learning, so bear with me :)

"Is the process used for heating the N02 Conduction?"

And am I right that conduction is when the material is heated by contact with the heating element, like the brass one in the N02? - wait is it brass?

daybrightener,

it is brass, and it is also conduction. In the case of the NO2 irt is conduction, with a convective component, meaning that meds in the center get some air flow heat as well.
Pure conduction would be the early "dome vapes"
Pax is conductive.
pure convection is the SSV or Da Buudha

Thank you Sir!!!!! When you have time, would you mind walking us through proper N02 cleaning and maintenance? After two years my brass doesn't look so brassy.

I do regular cleanings with those brushes, and I clean the lid without any hiccups; but I am wondering if there is anything I can do about the brass element?

I really appreciate all your posts/suggestions. If I was in Tucson, I'd come vape one with you!

My cleaning routine has not yet involved the brass, but I can give hints...
always remove screen and then... with unit upside down....
take a q-tip and wet it with 91% Iso... blot it off on cloth so it is not wet.
swab those walls, and if q-tip comes up less than white, do it with a new one.. repeat till done.
Do not do this with unit "right side up" to avoid drips.
dry with a vacuum if possible.
replace screen and vape.
Top screen...

Thank you!!!! I had heard others chat about the q-tip method, but I wanted your advice before I gave it a try.

I kinda feel, after two years w/o cleaning, is it worth trying to remove the black soot?; but I will give it a try.

I think it would be one thing if I had regularly cleaned the brass, but I feel like it may be pointless - like putting synthetic oil in a car that had regular oil running through it for 20 years. Not sure if my comparison is valid, but that was my thoughts and stuff....

I just purchased a no2 mostly due to this thread so thanks (vitolo) as I now feel I have a customer service center here! I've been lurking for awhile. Thanks for all the information and trial and error!

Yep give it a clean ,if you have a dremmel or equivalent you could use the small stone bit or wire brush bit, to clean bowl to shiny new.

You really have to stay on top of cleaning that chamber, the resin builds up fast and once there's a thick layer its so hard to clean. Iso and real pipe cleaners barely touch it. That's a great idea with the dremel tool I'm sure that'll get it clean and shiny.

I wish vapir would release a new model, the oxygen and one or whatever they're called are extremely outdated. The No2 is sort of a if it works don't fix it sort of thing but they really need to get back in the game. Id love to see a Vapir oil vaporizer... Maybe its just wishful thinking

I'm lovin' my No2 , Don't see anything negative about the " if it works don't fix it" Idea, In an ever progressing industry its always good to have a few Tried and true vapes around, The NO2 seems to be one of those, It does What it Does Well . ya its kinda large not easy to hide [won't fit in my Levi's pockets, looks like a strange digital water bottle] But It Damn sure WORKS!!!

I've been reading A LOT about this vaporizer and also on forum. but this is my first post. anyways. I just bought the No2 a week and a half ago and LOVE IT. keep in mind I bought it from craigslist, guy had receipt and I still have. bought in Nov 2012. Ok, so I get the unit and to make a long story short I charge battery for 6-8 hours BEFORE using battery, take plug out and I get nothing. Only worked if I stayied plugged in. I read manual again, so this time I leave unit with battery in it with the unit "ON" not heat on but "ON" switch. let charge..... still nothing without being plugged in. so i'm not rookie to vaping since I owned the vapir one 5.0. I did the next best step and that was order a replacement battery. it just got here today. charge it 6 hours in the unit. unplug try to FINALLY use my GREAT unit wirelessly .... nothing. I am dissapointed. any suggestions. somehow it's not reading my battery. bad unit? who do I call? how long does it take because I really don't want to wait 1 month seeming this is my only vaporizer. :( thanks for any help guys

Hey, I'll try to give you my experience until someone else steps in...I returned my No2 because I honestly wasnt happy with it compared to the newer units. The seller advertised 45 day no question asked return policy. This is within two days of receiving it. First, I contacted the seller. I was directed to www.vapewarranty.com. They told me I would have to go through the warranty process to exchange it.

I had to complete the warranty form, might have to register your unit first. You will then be given a RMA and mailing instructions. I sent my unit a week and a half ago but had postal issues so it was returned. I remailed and it should arrive at vapewarranty today. I asked prior how long it takes once they receive my unit and was told...generally 5 business days turnaround.

I suggest contacting the seller first and see if they offer replacement...some retailers will replace it for you and deal with the warranty issue themselves. Others handle it as I've had to do. Hope this helps.

**EDIT**The Folks at vapewarranty have been prompt and courteous in terms of communication...and I have bothered them quite a bit with exchange questions, etc

To IF II INI C IHI:
Have to ask.
Is the battery in the right way? contacts go into the No2.

With the No2 switch turned "on" ,Do you see the battery meter in the window flashing while charging? right next to the temp reading.

Are you using the Vapir power supply?

If the battery is in right maybe the contacts are pushed down to far and theyre not making a connection.
you can try and pull the contacts up a little with tweezers.
I also had a friend that the battery contacts were to recessed into the battery to make contact.

Try al bundy's idea....
then....
Contact Vapir. You have the paperwork and warranty should not be a problem.

ok I think I solved "MY" issue. NOW the question is, with me having around 200 dollars to spend on vaporizers. which one to get? keep in mind all i know is the vapir ONE 5.0 and the Vapir No2 (love it). was going to just get another Vapir No2 for 120 at my local store. but do you guys have any other suggestions of another one to get? like maybe the Solo, Vapor Blunt 2.0 (a little over my price range, but if it's amazing might think differently), Davinci Vaporizer, Vapir Mini Oxygen Vaporizer 4.0? those are my options. reason I ask you guys because I think you all are using one of the best vaporizers I'VE used but I don't have different vapes expirence. Thanks a lot for your answers and help!

The Solo is a good one, but not a pocket portable, so how you use it determines whether to consider it or not. I like a stealthy pocket portable for my away from home use, and have been very satisfied with the DaVinci. I wouldn't consider the Oxygen Mini at all. It requires a big fat battery pack and isn't known for reliability. The NO2 is really the only competitive model they make (also the only one with a warranty longer than 90 days).

After not touching flowers for a few months I'm really missing the whole vaping experience... Something that doing no amount of dabs can get near. The amount of drag bothers me for the first time in my almost 2 years of owning this vape. The mouthpiece seems to be the most restrictive part, especially once it starts to get dirty. After all, the hole on the mouthpiece is barely big enough to get a q tip into. I mainly use my no2 on my bong now, so something must be done about this.

Has anyone tried taking a dremel tool or drill to the mouthpiece on the NO2 to help with airflow?

z9,

Vitolo

One community member here did.. ever so slightly larger bore. I saw it and was pretty impressed with his craftsmanship.
He said he loved it at first.
He after a week ordered a new top piece. He said that the improved flow added to the ovens cooling and reduced the vapes performance on the hits.
He did save his bored out top as a spare
I would advise getting a spare, and doing experiments rather than attempt this with an "only top"...to avoid wait if you are displeased.
It is my impression that the folks at Vapir likely tried hundreds of angles and bore sizes in their quest for the NO2.

Vitolo,

Trust me, I was going to try cutting into the mouthpiece without a spare.

I hadn't thought about the increased airflow negatively impacting the performance of the vape. Wouldnt higher temperatures compensate for that though?

z9,

it surely could... but the unit goes to 400
I also imagine you could moderate your inhalation rate accordingly as well.
