The DV was originally up in the 250

In the YouTube video from pre-product release (Feb. 7th, 2012) Lance says they are taking pre-orders at US$199. I wonder if people that pre-ordered got to keep that price point.

In terms of "spring" I do note that in the Mica response to the off-gassing concerns, that they specifically mention March. Since the last one was released March 1 (I think), I'm going to presume they are targeting the same date. I also note, that release was a push back due to them wanting to get things "just right." So, I also won't hold my breath.

But 6.5 weeks isn't too long to wait, and thus not buy something today. Besides, to read the full 68 page Davinci thread will take me that long anyway. :)

 Well yeah, off is the lowest setting on any vape.

Is it completely variable? Does this mean I could set it at say, 100°C? Not that I want that temperature particularly, I usually start at 160°C (320°F) on my Extreme. Will drawing affect the temperature significantly? Is the draw restricted like the Pax and Solo, or free-flowing like the LB and FV?

Yes, the temperature is completely variable and you can set it to 100C if you'd like..although as you mentioned, not very effective. Drawing shouldn't effect the temperature too much, usually drops a few degrees, but nothing noticeable. Personally, I do not like the restricted draw. I see the value to produce think vapor clouds...but shouldn't your vape be able to do that without the restriction? Just my two sense, so no it will be free flowing.

Our target date is set for March and we will have product at Big and Champs in February. However, my ship date has not been confirmed as so many little things can go wrong between coordination with multiple vendors, packaging, ect. I don't believe in taking pre-orders without knowing an exact date for sure. We all know how that turns out....

I'll start to put up some additional pictures and video of how the Ascent works so all will have a better understanding

Pix Requests:
1. CLose up of screen.
2. You say the whole things comes apart for cleaning. <- This.

So, I'm guessing the dual mouth piece is the bottom on the photo posted. That means that you put the bottom of it to your mouth, which at first seems weird, but that means the screen is readable from a near "usage position." (probably too close to focus when your mouth is right on it, but readable as you put it up to your mouth.) This is why I'm interested in a close up of the screen. :)

Yeah, yeah, No worries. Think i've allowed for date slippage in any comment I made regarding dates. And it's even more acceptable as it means that you guys are just making the product better.

Ah, so there will be pre-orders then. Hopefully there is a discount in play like last time.

I'll work on those requests and get the production team to take them.

You are correct, the bottom of the pic is the mouthpiece, so yes, you put the bottom of it to your mouth (really the top, just an odd angle) or there is a glass piece that comes out of that little hole that you can pull out further. Think of it as a to share, or not to share option. Sharing some of the vapes out there is just a little gross....so think of this as the anti virus spreading mechanism.

It's great to see these fun new products comming our way, I hope you visited some other treads so you know what to expect (loads and loads of questions, often twenty times the same ones, alot of nagging, even more so when we know the price, and lots more complaining when you are one day past your predicted pre order date...but keep it up, we still love you all, most of us are just too spoiled to know any better !
So, to keep up with what I wrote, here are my questions :

Will you ship to Europe? (Belgium)
And four hour battery life sounds great, is this real life battery time or ultimate best
circumstances possible, putting it on at a low temp and leaving it on for four hours or
will we get four hours out of the device even with multiple shut off start ups (over one
or a few days time frame) with different temp settings etc? and, as you suggested in the previous post, this could, if wanted, be used by a (small?) group, how big/small is the chamber and does it need to
be full to operate best or can we load whatever we want and still be able to enjoy it?

and last but not least, just to let you know what I would like to add to the wishlist is some kind of separate battery charger and the choice to buy more batteries, 4 hours sounds awesome but there
will always be that last minute of the fourth hour, where we wished we had more battery life or extra batteries.

Cheers !

I've read about half of the threads on here...so of course know what to expect. My biggest problem is trying to stay away from the forum until later in the day, or I have a habit of getting sucked into it and don't get anything else done! Criticisms are expected and feedback is always welcome.

We will ship to Europe, as all of our products are 110-240v and will likely have these in our EU distributors hands a month or so after our US release. I know not all vaporizer companies do this..but I like to wait to have our CE certification before entering the market.

With the extensive testing on the battery, and to be honest, it looks like 4 hours will be a best case scenario- ie, low temps and power conservation mode in the presets. But it is of continuous use..not an on off scenario.

A vape is no fun unless you can share IMO! The chamber is about 30% bigger than that of the DV, so about 1.3g, although I do not recommend packing it too tight as it restricts the airflow. Same with the DV...I don't like it filled all the way. Not to mention that the bottom of the vape swivels out to expose the bowl and makes it easy to pack.

I am working on getting an external charger as I would too like to have extra batteries charged up for those 4 day hiking trips in Yellowstone. Extra batteries will be available, but I can't promise that the external charger will be ready by launch.

I think I got everything....

I dunno but waiting to see some vids after its released b4 I start dropping cash like that, especially after only purchasing my pax for the same price just a month ago. But if it's a pax killer then I'll have to have it!

1.3g? That's a mighty amount for one load. I probably only vape about .3g a day at most, .5 at the weekends. What's the least amount you can have in the bowl? And is it good for conserving?
Even if it does have to be filled at least .5g or so, it would be alright for me if the unit is efficient and extracts the goods well, so I could have a few hits and still have the same load to use the next day. That said, I do prefer a fresh load at the beginning of each session. Will have to see how this pans out.

I'm not a technicus by any means so if what I'm suggesting is not possible don't shoot me but if everything on the ascent is replacable wouldn't it be cool if they made it so that you could "switch" herb chambers with slightly different bowl capacities? so the 1.3 for parties and for instance a 0.5 or smaller for single user pleasure.

How about a spacer or something? The bigger bowl is a turnoff to me too, but not so much that I'm not gonna buy this beauty. I still can't get over the design. It's a work of art.

I concur!

Every vaporizer should be built to cost 249.95 $ (USD), just like the HerbalAire!!

:brow:

...or 170 $ on the US side of eBay...
