That is one mean look Jeppy. I'm surprised it didn't shatter. Glad you found your other tube. Sorry for the cracked one. Glass has some rules that must be followed when making the tubes. I don't think it is happy when they are not followed. It has been interesting learning rules of wood, glass and metal over the last year or so. I'm sure I have more to learn. Certainly more I want to try.

BDV - Have you ever tried the silicone sleeve without the glass nipple? I think it hits about as hard as the all glass roasting tube. The inside diameter of the 10mm tube is only about 1mm smaller than the 14mm glass tube. Your replacement 14mm is on the way.

Lucky Jeppy I was not so lucky..I just got home after my first shift at work and inside the house, the floor is under 2 inchs of water. The kitchen Sink tap has a separate rinse spray and where the stainless reinforced hose is crimped mechanically onto the spray handle, it decides to blow off under pressure half way through my shift.all of the kitchen timber lam floor is ruined.Luckily the rest of the floor is ceramic...,.also grateful the dogs did nt get fried from a floor power socket in my lounge which was waterlogged.guess Im gonna be busy all weekend. Will have a need for my Hi for sure.but why worry..its just something that happened and will be forgotten quickly enough.Have a vape and take my dogs out me thinks, it can wait:D

Sorry to hear that, bwade and very happy to hear the whole family (dogs) is OK. Its good to see people express relief/gratitude for the things that didn't go wrong.

Alan, yeah I use the 10mm both ways. I'm testing out this RezBlock stuff for glass... but since I'm using the HI, its on topic. See...

u bwade - That sounds very bad. So sorry. Reminds me of the time I awoke to a raining dining room ceiling from a failed plumbing connection. Luckily, it is just water and will find its way into the air again. A good chance for some remodeling.

BDV - That Rez Block looks very interesting. May have to try some one day. I normally use distilled water. Glad the 10mm tube is working for you. The first Turbo Tube I made was mostly covered in silicone tubing to protect the glass but was a pain to change. Having silicone on both ends seems to offer more protection and are easier to change out. Many possible tube configurations. Still nothing quite like all glass.

Haha! My diabolical plan worked! You suckers fell for it!

I needed new screens, but didn't want to pay for them... so I schemed. Then it hit me. I bet Alan sends new screens with new tubes!

Drop my tube in just the right way, have it break. Contact Alan to get a new one... NEW SCREENS!

Sure enough, Alan shipped out a new tube and shiny new screens. Got them this afternoon.

Buy a tube, get FREE screens. Hahahaha!

Wait... :uhh:

Never mind.

P.S. Thanks for the quick action, Alan. It arrived in pristine condition. Though, I wasn't paying attention, when I asked for 3". Needed a 2 1/2". Not a big deal.

Dude, you threw salt to your own game. ;)

I remember thinking when I ordered it, "I sure hope he sends new screens" I have 4 or 5, so its not urgent. Just stocking up for the end of the world (I know it passed. The Mayans were wrong).

Hey, we ever talk about storing loaded tubes? Love those little battery end caps!

Quick cap source: 1/2" Screw covers at Home Depot in the specialty drawers in the screw aisle. 2 in a package for 74 cents. Don't have my HI yet but they do work great on my Solo stems.

Added note on the vinyl endcaps: Put one on your chapstick over the adjustment end. No more wasted chapstick! Aw balls, I just gave away my most likely money making idea. If you patent it and it flies, please throw me a bone!

BDV - The vinyl caps look like they work pretty well. I'm still looking for a good poly storage tube for the 14mm tubes. The ones I provide can handle 13mm maximum but really work well for preloading silicone Turbo Tubes. I may have to go with a cigar storage tube for the 14mm all glass tubes.
Glad you could use the shiny new screens. So nice with a freshly cleaned tube.

cluffy - Thought I was the only one that had the problem of lip balm getting jammed in the lid. I was cutting some silicone protective rings for the copper aromatherapy caps a while back and noticed they were about the same size as a lip balm tube. It stays on very well and does not allow the balm to advance into the cap until you twist it. I was thinking of making an all natural beeswax based balm that could be used to condition the HI/TT and also used on your lips. The lip balm tubes are nice but do have a design deficiency. I like the vinyl cap solution as well.

Is the HI vape currently for sale? I've looked through most of the thread and I couldn't find anything saying yay or nay.

What is the price of these units?

Thanks :)

Happy holidays everyone.

mmenzie - The $140 is for the model of the HI that requires a power plug with a right angle end. My latest design has a right angle adapter designed into the base so that both the right angle and straight plugs will work. It is $155 with the power supply or $135 alone. I make so many different roasting tube styles that I don't really have a standard tube to provide with it. Everyone has different preferences for the tube design.

Alan is in the process of moving, so for a few months now he has not been able to work on them. Currently the wait on the list is about a year, although Alan says things will move much faster than before once he is in his new place.

Well let me see. My first concert was Led Zepplin in 1969, later in years I saw REO. Also around that time was VH I. Hell, I loved em all!! I have continued to go to concerts all over and everywhere. Did I just say 'everywhere'?
