"Thank you for your interest in Ploom. At this time we do not have any plans for additional mouthpiece designs. To my knowledge, there have been absolutely no concerns with plastics offgassing. For further information on this point, please se our FAQ: http://www.ploom.com/support#what-will-the-vapor-come-into-contact-with-before-reaching-my-lungs
If you have any other questions for us, please do not hesitate to ask."

Not sure why I remember people reading about new mouthpieces in the works, but the answer I just got via email seems to indicate otherwise? Also the answer on offgassing, while supposed to be comforting, is actually doing the opposite.

"to my knowledge" isn't confidence inspiring.

"no concerns with plastics offgassing" doesn't mean there is no offgassing, just no one is talking about it? Perhaps I'm reading too much into the wording on this part, and I know that may simply be the case. But it also makes me feel like there was no testing done to ensure no offgassing, or I'm sure that would be used as a selling point. Does anyone know how, as the consumer, I could do a test for something like this? Better than just looking for visible gasses which do not exist. I love my pax and continue to be impressed, but I want that certainty for peace of mind.

Life is full of risks way greater than any possible harm that could come from the Pax mouthpiece, unless you choke on it or something.

Just got back from St. Louis and back to the Pax, before I headed out I wrapped up the last bong design and put it into effect yesterday.

It bubbles nicely, and hits like butter

^ And clearing.

I will put a video up when I can find the time and find a way for FC to accept my Photobucket videos.

From one happy paxer to another, cheers
bahahaha havent used a plastic bottle in nearly 10 years. Take a 250 dollar vape and smoke it through a plastic bottle. makes sense. Not trying to make fun of you it actually made me feel nostalgic tho haha. Do your self a favor hold off on your next 8th, Go buy a shit bong for your pax they're like 40 bucks amurcan made, most head shops have em, or go on zee aqua labz website and buy something cheap on there.

Mr.Krinkle,

That brings up an issue I've been wondering about. Do you think it would be a bad idea to swallow my mouthpiece? I was thinking I could remove the metal tube from the mouthpiece, connect some medical-grade tubing to the to the plastic part of the mouthpiece and swallow that bad boy so that I could directly inject the vapor into my system and bypass the whole inhale thing. Is there any good way to swallow something into your lungs. Is that even possible?

someone said recently new accessories were in the works. Never saw any claims of a new mouth piece. *I showed a glass blower this, and he said if I got an extra stainless tube config it'd be a cake walk to make a full glass MP with gog adapter abilities

maybe theres a way to hook it up to hand pump, you could just bypass the whole breathing thing and straight power-boof it.

Great fucking idea! I have a 125 gallon air tank that can produce over 125 pounds of pressure. Do you think could work? I wonder if pumping vapor anally might be more effective. One end or the other, there's gotta be a solution here.

Here's an idea, what if we were able to press the bud (about .25 grams) into pill form, then pop that sucker in the oven and break it up with your stirrer of choice? This would make things super easy for storing, transporting, and using. Can this be easily done?

I came up with this idea a while back. But I want a pollen press roughly the size and shape of the oven that I could put bud in and press out little cakes.
So, anyone have one of these pill pressers to test? Will the bud stay in pill form until ready to use? I want this idea to get some traction! How awesome would it be to carry one of those pill boxes like this with a couple of cannabis cakes that you pop in the oven and break up? Would make this the absolute perfect solution.

the space case pollen presses work I can tell you that much. Its cool at first, but not that cool. I carry loose sift instead. You can make them extra long cylinders and then cut them length wise it fits pretty perfect. Its ultimately a pain to fuck around with and the idea of carrying a bunch of these little brick shaped pot pods is little eccentric if you ask me

I said that, Lorenzo told me that there were accessories on the horizon but he couldn't talk about them, I asked for a hint and he gave me some weird ass riddle and I don't know if the riddles answer is actually indicative of anything or if he was just fucking with me. I wish I knew a glass blower because I have 2 spare mouthpieces and I'd love a glass mouthpiece.

they'll start poping up from different blowers that like these im sure, the tricky part is the rectangular base. Probably end up just getting a round one that fits, come to think of it, it doesnt need to be a rectangle as long as the stainless tube is in the base. If I can get a working prototype I'll fill you guys in, he owns a shop so you could hypothetically just say hey I want one of those glass doohickeys shut up and take my money! The guy does a lot of custom work apon request. My old blower that I had for odd job stuff was out of california, shouldnt be too hard for you guys to find one thatll do custom orders. I found 3 different blowers in a day when I was orgionally trying to get a Bell Ti-pad slide before they were common. (You used to have to get on a waiting list for an oil slide and they were from one dude hahah :) oh how the times have changed)

You have done this yourself? Can you point me to which pill press you used?
Also, how is this more of a pain to deal with more so than loose herb? Pop open a pill case, pop in pressed pill, and press/crumble with finger. Voila. No pouring, measuring, spilling loose herb... Perfect trench every time!

LMAO thats why I wanted the green one, green is money, green is go while driving, green means hit that PAXXXXXX!!!!

I want a party mode shirt.

Yeah! So if they make a shirt with the blue X it should say party mode, unless the person that is wearing it is in a "sleepy" mood...

We're here to fuck shit up.
I can see the presses working with keif, but I don't know about bud. Once compressed, I don't think it would be so simple to crush up that dense pill with your fingers. Sometimes, uncompressed bud doesn't even want to break up finely with just your fingers. I have feeling you would be having to break out a grinder to break up the pill. Keif, on the other hand, breaks up nice and easy once compressed.

As would I. And I'd feel even better knowing it wouldn't bother Ploom because apparently they are not interested in making new MPs.

Yea I guess, Yes I have tried myself. Space Case makes one. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=bl_sr_industrial?field-brandtextbin=Space Case&node=16310091 Thats their amazon store, I was going to link you straight to the press, but if you buy a lot of their grinders they throw a press in for free, so do your homework before just going and buying a 25 dollar press (for instance, a med. magnetic single chamber grinder is the same price, and comes with a free press)

It works with bud, fine grind (i hold my space case upside down when I grind it) not really sure if you even need to fine grind it if you use a nice grinder. But you SHOULD at least grind it and not break it up by hand.
PLEASE talk to him about this? I'd love a full glass MP.

I second that notion! I would pay for one of those!
Like I said I'll keep ya in the loop. I come on here a lot now. Darkrom you are in driving distance I beleive. He's out of Providence. Once my Pax gets back I'm bringing it in. He will be repairing some of my nice glass pieces that need minor cosmetic repair (bad joint on a bong, broken tentacle on an alien tech heady sherlock) So I will be seeing him reguardless

Mr.Krinkle,

How would he handle the magnet?
I didnt even think about that. Maybe just make a notch and put it in? They can drill into glass easy enough, maybe just make a dimple with a drill or tool and drop it on in. Probably have to destroy a mouth piece to make one unless theres a place to get tiny magnets, although I'd need to buy an extra MP anyway for the tube/ring assembly so I guess it wouldnt matter ripping the magnets out.
edit- Bah now I really wish I had my pax in front of me to think about the logistics. I have a glass dome adapter, its got a male joint attached directly to the back of another male joint, Im thinking something like this would work if you just make a little bead the size of the joint with a hole in the center the size of the stainless tube, then "Spotweld" (haha i know this isnt the proper terminology, but you get the idea) the bead with the tube inserted into the end of one of the joints. Should shrink and seal around it, while having an intact joint on the end. Now what would make it really boss is designing a glass mouth piece with glass on glass that can be both used as a replacement and also have a glass on glass insert for bong adapters!

That's why I mentioned it. You do need it. I'm sure you can find a solution.
Yep! I would have remembered eventually  haha- I did know this is critical for proper use, I had my first pax lock shut, I tried using it with out the mouth piece. We will know sooner than expected if this is doable, Ploom just emailed me saying they have shipped out my NEW PAX! YAY! To recap, dropped it off wednesday night, It went out thursday, and by the next day they have sent me my replacement. I am on the east coast. That is pretty damn good. I am really really impressed. I am betting I get it tomorrow they said they would expedite it in a previous email. I am really really really happy with their customer support. It looks like I'll have my pax in time for Normal Instruments tomorrow. If you're in the RI area check them out!!!!

Hello Mr. Krinkle, how are you today? Hehe sorry i couldnt resist. I dont own the pax and probably never will, but i saw your name and had to check in. I just glanced over your post about the magnet thing, not sure if youve heard of rare-earth magnets but i know they come extremely small. They are really strong though, i usually use them in my woodworking projects (stash boxes and things)im not sure what kind the pax uses though

Mr.Krinkle

Shpooding Time.
haha - yeah I duno where to get them, Im guessing the mouth piece would be ideal sense I have to use the stainless tube and locking ring from one any way. But if you have a guy :brow: I'm all ears. This guy will probably make a bunch if he can make a working prototype.
Edit- this is what I am talking about http://aqualabtechnologies.com/alt-90-18-mm-female-to-18-mm-male-adapter.html converting one of those or a male/male seems very plausible.
