I know the momentary bottom switch is the switch going out for these early shipments but you state as fact that those need to be sent back in for an exchange for the on/off latch. Can you refer me to the post that actually states that?

From what I recall, we will get to keep both switches. The batteries would be all that needed to be switched.

Well chill dude.
I talked to trevor at TET yesterday or 2 days ago anyway they said that the momentary switch will be sent out with the cera but when the latching switch comes in they will ask you via email if you would like to exchange the momentary switch for the latching switch if so they'll send you the latching off /on switch and you'll have to send the other one back which makes no sense unless they trust everyone to send it back and not keep the button switch.
OF mentioned it in one of his posts concerning the switch and what they want to do.
It's what was told to me personally so take it for what it is or call them yourself.
The post with that information is somewhere between pages 110 to 117 on this post.
I hope that helps if not sorry
Ya that is what I thought too but trevor said to me that we will have to send the momentary switch back, I hope that keeping bothis the intention for sure.

Why are you guys paying so much for vapes? 300+USD for one vaporizer seems like a lot to me.
I am here genuinely looking at this vape for a more "closed system" vape for stealth travel, but 300 is wild.

It's made from very high quality materials. It is manufactured in America from American parts. Also, it is built to last. Oh, and the performance of it as well.

Sometimes you have to pay for quality, I guess. I thought it was expensive too, but worth it for me.

$300 isn't wild. Pax and Inh are 250, Plenty is almost assuredly more... And you can't look at the price and not consider the fact that the body is medical grade ceramic, it uses stainless steel/Ti, all parts are sourced in America, and assembly is also in America. Our brothers and sisters are getting paid to hand-wire your cores, the skins for it are being produced within 30 miles of the factory... It just doesn't make any sense to look at a price without any facts.

I would not consider this piece if it were made in China with unknown materials.

The price tag could easily be cut if they used lesser-quality materials and had a very questionable factory putting it together paying some 12year old less than a dollar a day.

Like I said in the other thread, you don't have to pay for it if you don't like the pricetag. There are other units available right now for fifty or so bucks less. Will you get ThermoVape quality with it? Probably not.

The Cera cartridges can be unscrewed and boiled / blow torched clean. Made in America with American parts. Ceramic bowl for herb which some would say is equal to glass in terms of it's purity, but much more durable than glass. SS and Ti options. Convection. Gotta pay a little extra to use the best.

Nothing else out their comes close in performance(at least for EO) whats the next best thing? Persai is like 250 and your gonna be buying 10$ cartridges your whole life that can potentially stop working with your concentrate inside, have fun getting that out. I pay 300 once, no replacement parts, no cheaply made BS. Alot of people already have batteries and chargers too so they only have to pay 250 for the SS version. Made and assembled in the USA I'm suprised it isnt more, wouldnt be if the price goes up after presale.

There's a lot of contradictory information floating around regarding the switches. Hopefully someone from TET can clear it up? Not crazy about having to send in a switch in exchange for the one the cera was originally supposed to come with, especially since I paid extra for the illuminated version which apparently is being custom milled from medical grade, U.S. sourced unicorn horn judging by its scarcity

The real question : And what do you propose better for the same price?

This question is impossible to answer. For one thing, almost no one has used a Cera so the only people who could even take a shot at it are OF and the friends he's shared it with, the people at TET, and possibly a handful of unknown beta testers. For another, how do you define better? <--RHETORICAL

The Cera will compete head to head with other devices that cost less. The FlashVAPE comes immediately to mind, since I have one right in front of me. It actually has many of the same characteristics as the Cera, and depending on what's important to you, it could be better at about half the price.

It was only a personal question to him :) .... I mean when we say that things are better or worse than others, we must mention the things in question ....
But you bring an answer for him with the FlashVAPE ;)

In near time, there will be fights of titans in the world of the vaporisation..... very good for us all, this is how things evolve and improve manufacturing concepts :)

Hey FCrs,

Hopefully this pic posting will work - and provide a little CERA porn:

6WROX.jpg

When I first saw CERA I immediately thought of how this might make for a very travel-friendly case. It's a standard travel case for a Sonicare (notice how you can re-arrange the last 4 letters to spell CERA -LOL). On the right side of the case are the actual toothbrush 'body' and brush atty. On the left is the object of our desire: CERA body, mouthpiece and EO cart. For those of you with a keen eye, you'll notice that the safety switch on this beta unit extends out (notice the green protruding switch tip just under the EO cart) and actually helps hold the body from sliding up and down (it's as if this case were designed for us-LOL). Should be ample room to stick an extra batt or whatever. Anyway, I hope this is of help to any 'frequent fliers'.

Peace,
NN

Edit: Almost forgot. Props go out to OF who helped make this happen.

That's what I use for all of my first gen TET stuff now! Great minds!! I dream of a case that could hold the three types of carts (rattle free) some bats, some meds, and the Cera.

No, the momentary switch replaces the end cap switch, the one in the photo is flat on the end and latches. The momentary one is domed, it sticks out maybe 1/8 inch in the center IIRC. I only saw a switch minus the cap (it was loose).

BTW, the fat black o-ring in the center doesn't belong there, it's a spacer to push the cap back a bit since there's still a substitute spring inside the tube under the battery.

Awe yeahhhhhhh! Any chance for a larger version of that photo? What is that? A CERA for ants!?

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking. NN took that photo with his phone, I'd think he can provide a higher resolution version if that's it? Otherwise there are some excellent (professional even) photos on the Cera site? That is the only size Cera I know of, it's just upside down in that photo (end cap is up) and we took the end off to make it fit the box. That's the oil cart to the left and the cover and MP above it. In use the cart screws into the body covering the ring in the middle of the cart, then the cover is put over it and is retained by the other two rings.

And yes, it's for ants. And uncles, too. Just not for children.......

Ya that is what I thought too but trevor said to me that we will have to send the momentary switch back, I hope that keeping bothis the intention for sure.

I just thought I'd post some info for everyone I got from ThermoVape regarding the momentary/latching switch potential exchange:

1. The initial units will ship with the momentary switch
2. You MAY have to send back the momentary switch after receiving the latching one, but probably not, and if so, they will provide a pre-paid shipping label to send it back

Here's the quote from my e-mail:

"I just emailed them back and have recently talked to management. If we do require the older momentary switch back, which I do not think is the case, we will send the new switch with a return label to the customer so they do not incur any shipping cost and have a unit in working order throughout the exchange process."

So I hope that clarifies that for everyone :)

But yeah I meant a larger size photo. Interesting seeing them in the wild instead of just stock photos.

Hey OG,

Great video!! Sadly the uploaded photo is my largest 'in the wild' photo. Hopefully we'll all have our CERAS soon. I certainly am looking forward to future user pics, vids, and suggestions-particularly those with WPs (as I am a WP newbie).
