I wanted to mention for the benefit of other users of Pax how important it is to avoid exposing the area around the temperature button to ISO. This device is new and clearly there's an issue with exposure in this area to isopropyl alcohol and perhaps to other fluids. Until this problem is fixed I would avoid exposing this area to liquid of any type. I had to send my Pax back in for a fix; other than that it's functioned great for me so far.

so far this lube has done the trick on my temp light issue. My pax now performs as it should. :D

I got a purple X shirt, requested from them thinking it was going to be 100% cotton, to tie dye it. It got here and was a cotton/poly blend, and very dark grey. No point in trying to dye that.

We're here to fuck shit up.
I have not had one issue since receiving my new mouthpiece and lube. Even without cleaning for over two Weeks, I still haven't had a temp light issue. I finally cleaned it last night and a bunch of resin was removed from all over the place, but no temp light. I'm going to write Ploom again and ask if I can buy a box of the lube packets.

Has anybody had an issue with the rubber-band seal type thing coming out in the oven? I didn't even realize there was one but it seems like it somehow stretched out and is now in the oven.

Im wondering if vaping with that in there is safe for both the pax and myself :/

Yeah- but why would they make a shirt that indicates that the battery is DEAD...fail.

Didn't think about it that way. Too funny!

Just got off of the live chat with Lorenzo and my pax shirt is being shipped out today! Woohoo! I'm actually thinking he's sending me multiple shirts, I told him I'd wear one for everyday of the week if they had enough colors and he told me to tell him if I could pick 3 colors, what would they be? So fingers crossed! Lol I'd be way more than happy with just one. Awesome company!

The only time I've heard of that seal being an issue at all is when someone's been taking their pax apart. Has someone been taking their pax apart?

Happy Paxer here. I clean maybe every 2 weeks and I have not had any issues, so I count myself cautiously lucky.

One question:

When I take my last draw with the MP closed (unit off) which clears the last of the vapor, things taste very slightly different from a normal draw. I try to get my lips right on the MP (even though it is recessed into the Pax body) and still I get a very slightly plastic-y or, maybe more accurate, medicated flavor. Anyone experience the same? I cannot figure out why this would be, as the path should be the same!

Well I already ordered it so it's not like it matters now, let me know when you get yours i'm interested to see who gets theirs first.

Well I got an email at around 9am saying my Pax was delivered. I just got home and happily found the Pickup note from Shoppers Drugmart saying I can pick it up anytime today from their Postal service. Will be going at around 6:00. Since i'm in canada the taxes, duty's, etc come to a total of $42. Can't wait till i'm off work at 10:00 to try this baby out. So damn stoked, its going to be one long shift.

---Edit---
If anyones interested it took 9 days to ship from Ploom to Canada Ontario. :)

Great Scott!
Mailman is somewhere in my general neighborhood. Putting off rushing out the door until I can take this with me. I need it today of all days for some SERIOUS pain.

The $42 charge is not for shipping. The shipping from Ploom is free to Canada. What your paying for is Duty's, Tax's, & Brokerage. Have you actually picked up the Pax yet?

Thefinalcost.com estimated it all to be $37 so I roughly knew what was coming.

Just wondering, how often do you need to apply the lubricant, how many applications do you get per packet, and when cleaning do you clean the lubricant off the mouthpiece and reapply, or what exactly?

It sounds like this lubricant fixes all the major issues the pax has had.

Can somebody tell which online distributor offers the best customer service.
I'm about to pull the trigger and because I live in California I want to buy from an online retailer instead of Ploom to save some tax charges.
Any opinion will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi Mestizo, I've found the folks at Vape World to have excellent customer service. They sent me a new mouthpiece for free when I had the temp light issue and were very easy to deal with over chat. They also sent me a blue Pax t-shirt when I asked for it when I bought my second Pax from them. :2c:

That's all I needed to hear, I'll be ordering an onyx one soon.

Just my :2c: but if there is ever a problem it's best to deal with Ploom direct. Unless there is copious free stuff that another distributor will send you with your order to sweeten up the deal, I find it is almost always best to go direct! Enjoy!

Mine has come out as well. I hadn't taken it apart. I've contacted Ploom and they said to contact Vapeworld to have it repaired or replaced. Support said it was not advisable to continue using it without the seal.
I'm currently waiting to hear back from Vapeworld on how to proceed.

Yes, That is what I was thinking before, but since Ploom honor purchases from their distributors, why give away money that can be used for an extra mouth piece?
I really don't care about the free grinder Vapeworld offers tell you the truth, but I will buy a Pax directly from the maker if they offer some kind of deal for California residents to offset tax charges, like a free extra mouth piece for example.
Thank you for your reply Bluntcrush.

they are about to send me a free, new version mp. should i ask them to throw in some of the lube and other free stuff, or would they just throw it in?

they wont give you lubricant unless you ask, I had to ask, I just assumed it'd come with my new Pax when I sent it back originally. I wouldn't ask for "free stuff"

Could one of you post a picture? The only thing that could be a "rubber band" that I know about is the silicone O-ring in this picture:

MZtie.jpg

The broken silicone O-ring is shown in the yellow oval, the place where it would normally be is the groove indicated by the yellow line. I can't see how that seal could get broken without removing the case, let alone find its way into the oven somehow. I also don't believe for a second that not having that seal it makes the Pax unsafe to use in any way.

The red ovals indicate the magnets, by the way. They aren't secured in any way and if you lose one, your Pax oven door won't stay properly in place.

You know, I feel a bit like a prick saying this, but this kind of makes me feel like an unappreciated "Ploomer." I got nothing with my lube but two stickers, and a note saying "sorry you're having problems." When I now start seeing all these grand expressions of customer appreciation and all this extra stuff people are getting because they are so appreciated, it makes me feel rather unappreciated really.

I'm glad they fixed you up, Mel, but maybe Lorenzo and the rest up there should recognize that we "Ploomers" talk among ourselves so when certain customers are treated with more appreciation than others, how does that make us "others" feel?

I am very happy with my Pax, and this does not change that, but it does make me feel less warm to Ploom as a company for sure.
Well I understand your upset but on the plus side it looks like many people have been able to get a tshirt now, so just ask, best of luck!
