Hi so just was using my pax in my car used it for about 15 mins then went to my friends house and kept in the cold car. When I got pack to the car and popped up the mouth piece the light doesn't turn on or anything. What you guys think the problem could be?

Hmmm so I am at a loss. Took 2 hours the second charge through, going on the third charge through, I am on exactly an hour and a half and still have yellow power. Did I just get a defective model? it seems I am getting double the charge time that you all are. Has anyone gotten significantly longer than 1 hour charge time?

Using pax a lot for tobacco during the day. It satisfies too. My batt trick works great and when I come home I usually have one batt left and half charge in the pax. I plug in all three batts and run out pax before shower on full oven. Then charge cradle it to wake to 4 full batts and 6 or so hours of solid vaping electricity supply. On high tobacco has me coughing massive clouds too. On low taste lasts longer, nicotine tastes very bitter, but the tobacco flavours fill in so nice. Back home is full oven bud only nice sleep pill. Some times opposite happens and it makes me creative

So, the good folks at Ploom hooked me up last week. I chatted with them on Friday and asked for some MP lube. I also finally ordered new screens (I had been using a regular stainless screen for months).

On Saturday my screens arrived along with another package that contained a new MP, 2 packs of lube, a magnet, and a sticker! The new MP came in a sealed baggie and appeared to already have lube on it. It works wonderfully and now my Pax is like new again. I am falling in love with once again! I am even running it on medium, which I have never done :)

I also contacted Ploom and have some lube supposed to be heading my way. Hoping it gets here soon, I have the temp light problem every time, no matter what I do now. I haven't needed my pax for on the go lately, so it hasn't been an issue using it at home, but I would like to see if the lube resolves it. I guess they are not being very consistant about what they are sending people, some are getting just a couple of packets of lube and others are getting mouthpieces and stickers etc... I guess it depends on who packs up your envelope. I'm not complaining about anything being sent for free, so what ever I get I will be happy enough. :D

A similar problem once happened to me when I left the PAX in the car except the MP popped up slowly. PAX is a sensitive vape, although itcan be left in the cold it is better not to, especially if you dont clean your PAX. If left in the cold the resin will get stuck causing MP issues/ temp light issues. I cleaned it and like an idiot continued to leave it in the cold, causing the MP to eventually get stuck inside. Try giving it a through cleaning (including MP) and see what happens. keep it as warm as possible(wearing gloves when using in the cold, keeping it in a pouch, pillowcase etc)

I think the original post was referring to the cleaning of the screen rather than the removal.

I myself find that a pipe cleaner pushes the screen right out with barely any effort.
Correct thanks for the tip but that removal process sounds to risky for me, I'll continue using my pipe cleaners to push it out.

Hello. I've been reading this forum a lot over the past few days. I'm really on the fence about purchasing a Pax. Yesterday I had all my cc info punched in at the Ploom site but couldn't pull the trigger. While the Ploom looks awesome and everyone initially thinks it's a great device I'm worried about its' longevity. I'm aware of the mp and temp light issues and how to resolve those. My question is do these problems only get worse the longer you use the device? Would anyone who has had a Pax from launch still order one today if they knew the problems they'd be having today? And does the battery's overall performance deteriorate rapidly over time? Thanks guys.

I honestly wish i got the INH over the pax..
if i knew bout the sticky mouth piece i wouldnt of ordered at all, sometimes it takes 10-15 clicks just to get your mouth piece back into place.
imagine if u were trying to medicate very quickly, it should be as simple as bumping the mouth piece up, but no.. now u have to keep looking down to make sure the purple light is blinking and its not stuck on temp light.

im just keeping it real with you, i clean my pax as advised also but after 1-2 uses you can expect the same problems OVER AND OVER AND OVER.

So I am a little sad, customer service has stopped responding to me. I have sent them 2 messages reguarding their bad charge time on the replacement model. Today, I decided to get the live chat thing going, it was up, but I was forwarded to their message center. Tried 2 more times with the same results.

I use mine a lot- been doing a ton of testing on the battery over the last 2 days, havent had one problem, do not listen to this guy when he says one to two uses. Everyone else will tell you this isnt an issue, I ran 3 full batteries worth of packs into my pax and didnt clean it once, didnt have a problem, no lube or nothing.

Everything is warranteed for 10 years, I had to send mine back by no fault of theirs and they still replaced it. To be more specific, I removed a locking mechanism ring that prevents it from reopening if you remove it, and they still sent me a brand new one. Batteries are covered. If it shits out on you, get a new one and sell it brand new to someone else, these things fly off the shelf so it shouldnt be hard

Dont listen to me? im just giving him my opinion and experience.. I knew someone would come in here and act like they are a Ploom spokes person or somethin..

Im just saving him some headaches, go buy a vape that you don't have to clean all the time.. one you can jst use without no worries.

Im not even being bias, i like my pax when it works but thats it.

you said after every use the hypathetical buyer would end up with the same problem, which isnt true. You imply a "everytime you use this it breaks" scenario for eveyone else.

Hey happens for me why wouldnt it happen for them? We are vaping much diff. Herbs too so maybe mine can get sticky faster than yours? And i pack my ovens super tight.

Alot of different scenarios but he asked and i responded.

Yeah that's true some strains (especially if they weren't cured enough) can dirty up a Pax mighty fast.

But I also agree with krinkle, one to two uses is too quick, have you tried getting a replacement from Ploom?

I am sorry if I came off dickish, just one to two uses is nuts. I compress mine between my fingers first to get it super tight as well, and the stuff I have is off the charts in trichs, seems to be the stickiest stuff I've had sense the summer, I'd say you may want to look into the lube, or the updated mouth piece, or polishing the stem of the mouth piece.

For what it's worth, I have an amethyst one I bought back in October and a cobalt one I got about a week ago. I got the cobalt one as a secondary vape so I don't have to worry about waiting for my Pax to recharge. I use both daily, sometimes I start with the blue one, sometimes the purple one. Here's what I have noticed:

-The amethyst one gets the temp light issue every now and then, despite regular cleaning (easily fixable by dipping the vapor tube of the MP in alcohol and replacing it in the Pax while it's upside down, being careful not to get any alcohol on the temp button, then actuating a few times - not really a big deal). The blue one hasn't had the temp light issue yet.

-The battery life of the amethyst Pax has not diminished significantly when compared to the new blue one. While I haven't run a timed test on them where I just run the battery down, I can tell you that I get about two hours of "normal use" with each of them, normal use being that I only turn the vape off to stir and to repack, maybe setting it down to go to the bathroom

Also of note: I had to get a replacement MP for my amethyst Pax because it was sticking and giving me the temp light issue within a few days of my getting it. Vape World was very helpful and sent me the new one free of charge, and that mostly solved the issue. As I said before, I do get the temp light issue every couple of days, but it's easy to fix. I've also been thinking of using #000 steel wool on the vapor tube of the MP to see if it helps the amethyst one, as other members have said that solved the issue for them.

I didn't get mine at launch and I went into buying this vape knowing its problems, though I was hesitant, too. However, every vape has its drawbacks. For example, other portable vapes have problems with off-gassing (eek), fragile glass stems, or tons of batteries that you have to carry with you. This one is one-handed, has a medical grade SS vapor path, and is so very pretty. I've introduced several of my friends to the Pax and so far, three of them have gotten one, too. We're all converts from smoking thanks to it.

When it comes down to it, a vape is a personal choice. This one happened to be the perfect one for me. I can't say it'll be perfect for you, but you'll never know if you don't try it.

i have nothing to lie bout, 1-2 uses and i already have to clean again. i've already bought the 99% iso, dental brushes, pipe cleaners, q tips.. all for the pax.

i just emailed and got a fairly quick response from ploom.
they are sending a new mouth piece with lube.

as you can see, most my complaints are about the mouth piece not the device itself.. if this can fix it then it will change my feelings for the Pax.

My screen is very dirty. I think I need some new ones...

I tried cleaning with rubbing alcohol but there is still a ton of residue.

Or is there something else I should use as a screen?

what i usually do is jst scrape it with some type of metal pick after its been soaked in 99% iso, or even use my pipe cleaner which has metal bristles on there.. usually comes out shiny and like new.

basically, use something that can scratch all the residue off after you soak the screen for a few hours.

quick blast with a torch lighter is what I do :) I slide the very edge of it into the crease of a key ring and blast it for not even 2 seconds with a torch lighter, you can see the results instantly
