I purchased a couple of units a couple months back, both are now dead. As I am an international customer and have no warranty, when each unit broke I pulled them down for inspection.
In both cases it has been where the wires connect to the ellement that has failed, but the only fix I can see is a new element.

Might pay for VXL to look into bolted terminals on the element or other options to increase reliability, in 2 months I have killed two unts with only moderate use (evening only).

If VXL are willing to sell me replacement glass tube/heater ass/temp sensor, this would be an easy fix for myself, I have already emailed SM and am waiting for a reply.
If they were willing to do this, I would continue to support them, otherwise I can not justify paying another $600 everytime a unit dies due to a flawed design.

Other then the reliability issues, this is by far the best vape I have ever used, I really hope I will be able to make use of my clouds again one day :(

I'm sorry that your clouds have died, but this is why we don't offer a warranty for international units. As you are using it in a scenario where it is not designed to receive that type of power source. It is not the heating element that is failing -- it is the use of the wrong power source through the internal board ect. This will be fixed with the release of international version's which will carry a warranty.

That cord mod is incredible. It's true when the cloud turns off it maintains a vaping temp for a while. I have turned mine back on after a few mins off and the lights instantly went green. So I really dig that way of vaping by getting it up to temp, quick release cord and pass around....simply awesome!!

I'm gonna buy every single damn Cloud that has revisions or improvements!

Yeah man ... but you buy Cloud's like most people buy underwear!

I'm sorry but I do not beleive this to be correct.
I see quite a number of failures within the USA that I would assume from reading reports is also down to failing heating elements.
I am from a technical and electrical background, I have tested all aspects of the units and the circuitry side of things is all still functional, a new element is all that is required for both units to become functional again.

Both units have only failed where the cables terminate onto the heating element with visual signs of heat stress at these points, yet again I would suggest looking into improving this single flaw.

I would be more then happy to purchase replacement glass tubes with heater and sensor fitted, or just the element. The element is design for the cloud, I haven't seen anything I could use as a replacement anywhere, this is why I want to purchase the parts off you, alternatively I would have to engineer a new element, I have enough going on as it is :)

I know this won't happen but I wish they would just have you send one in to see if they would diagnose it the same. I believe you man, I just had back to back heating failures. I'm not from an electrical background but even I figured it was a wire connecting to the heater or something like that.

To be honnest, I was quite excited when the first unit died as it gave me a reason to strip it dow :)

I wont be sennding a unit back to them, I doubt it would be an option and have already determined the failure point on both units with all other aspects seeming to be functional. I was just trying to buy some spares, but this doesn't appear to be an option :(

But I wont leave it at that, if I can't buy spares from the manufacturer it just means it will take a little longer and a bit more work to get them going again :)

It's not VX's fault...you took the risk of buying a product without a warranty. Not to mention a product that is brand new and just released, with no real reports of longevity (some). I just can't see how you can blame them or threaten non-support. If you bought it when available internationally then you wouldn't be going through this or saying that. So it's the price to pay for not being patient. Good luck trying to re-engineer, or make it work again or whatever...pics are always great for proof.

Yeah man ... but you buy Cloud's like most people buy underwear!

Please don't poke fun of my OCD ;) It's really no different than VAS...just need to have the latest and most recent Cloud, and 4 isn't really that many in less than a year lol (you wouldnt believe how many solo's and extreme's i've owned!) I like supporting VX and I'm glad i've quelled my HT OCD aquisition syndrome lol

I wish I could pay VX $XXX/month and be on a Cloud/HT lease program or something!

Still waiting on VapeXhale to ship my repaired Cloud. This is torturous LOL.

In other news, I wish the ELBs could be made out of some glass thing, that would truly rock. But I guess the bamboo openings are different so it would be hard to get it precise possibly. That's just my theory.

Your experience is making me thinking about getting a backup in case of a warranty issue (hope it never happens!), but I can't buy another vape because it would just be too inferior to the Cloud lol

I always told myself that a warranty service would simply mean a forced 1 month tolerance break.

Or get another Cloud. If I ever want anothr HT, I would get another package as price is better and backup Cloud is always appreciated. But now I would be happy enough to have one.

That's a good point Seek, but I would want a different vape as a backup...a portable in fact, just can't find one that I like yet.

Due to a shortage of flowers, testing of my cloud has been postponed:(, hoping the wife will pick up some medication after work  However, she is not enthused one bit by the new HT and cloud as opposed to me lol.
Time to hit some oil until I get flowers, cya fellow cloud buddies!

O that seems to be a good fit for the Cloud? does it have any weight to it? Or just a nice wide base? Is it a lot more stable?

Dude - you are thinking like I am - I read the forums constantly and regardless of how cool some of the new toys coming out are I just can't imagine anything touching the clouds performance. I actually am keeping an envelope and putting a few bucks here and there away. When I have enough I am definitely buying a second cloud. I have my solo as my portable and absolutely love it - I think my mix going forward will be a cloud and a solo - as long as I have each of those I think I actually cured my VAS.

I too will be getting a back-up cloud soon. I think Hydra tree 2.0 package will be my next purchase. I love how you can stack an HT on the top of the 2.0 for a little extra diffusion or just for fun!

I can't wait to see what the next round of HydraTubes are. I still only have my original HydraTree, and still think I need to buy one more. I think I wouldn't be able to use the Devastator (as in I like the HydraTube going on top design instead of the Cloud being upside down). I really like that Swagger Double and now the new HydraCirc 2.0 (since I have the tree, I can make my own Double). LOL what to do what to do. Well, I gotta save up for a bit now anyhow, some unexpected expenses came up.

Love my Cloud
