Any U.S dealers yet? I don't want things getting stuck in customs. I really like everything I have read so far. This would be perfect to try some salvia! Approximately how many seconds on the button will give 250°C? :)

Funny you should ask that. Just this minute I was using my cheap IR temperature reader to see how fast the FV heats up. It's so fast I'll do it again just for you. Just a sec...

Okay, I should have said just 4 seconds. By 5 seconds this thing gives an error, which means it's over 300°C. Unfortunately, I'm certain it's reading the temperature of the heater underneath the screens, not the temperature at the screens which is where you really want to read. From experience, I'll say it reaches 250°C at the screen in not more than 6 seconds. You'll have to wait for someone with better equipment to get an accurate measure, but I'm sure I'm not off by more than a second.

Disclosure: This thing cost me $15 reduced from $30 and I have been engaged in a lot of testing stuff with the FV. You have been caveated.

pak and Tweek make me really want this thing... maybe when I get back from hols. I do love Canadian made products.

hive mind.. :p

I think you are pretty close there with the readings! Awesome. It's good to know it can hit high temps! Do you think there would be any problems with customs ordering this to the U.S? Anyone here encountered any issues? I would really like to get this one!

I don't see why there would be any issues shipping into the US. Several of the better known vapourizers are built and shipped from Canada: Extreme Q, Solo, Herbalaire, Inhalator, for example. PlanetVape is a Canadian vendor that ships lots of vapourizers into the US.

There are no issues with shipping into the USA... normal delivery time is around 3-5 days for any destination in the USA, as the package gets delivered as Priority Mail once in the USA.

Pak, you are pretty much right on the money when you said the temperature at the screen in the FV gets to around 250°C in around 6 seconds. However, it will vary slightly depending on how cold the unit is when you start the count down. If the FV is completely cold, just inside after being in your glove compartment overnight in the cold, it obviously will take a couple seconds longer to reach 250 than if you just finished off a few draws.

One of the batteries just died... It won't charge or power the FV. :( For mild use and going by the book even a battery is enough I reckon, but for the cloud chasers among us looking for thick potent hits the FV begs for a pass-through, otherwise more batteries and chargers might be needed. :\ Two batteries are just okay but not for all day use. I don't think a pass-through would be a hard thing to do judging from the design of the rest of the unit. ;)
Currently FV baked...

EDIT: I just half of the yellow brownish ABV from the FV after the battery completely discharged and had two more hits with the Hot Pod. It was like the third and fourth hit with the Pod and a fresh load... Much juice was left in there. I probably need two batteries for one load in contrast to reports of two bowls with one battery. Either I am doing something wrong or my fully organic homegrown weed is super juicy and won't stop giving vapor... and I doubt I am doing something wrong... :smug:

I wish I had some of that super juicy stuff that lasted that long. With mine, on a fresh battery, I get 10-15 hits per half a bowl and I use that same battery with a second bowl and get the same results.

I do the 5 second heat up and then start drawing very very very slow while still keeping the button depressed for another 3-5 seconds, release the button and continue draw very slow for a few more seconds. I'm sure it would be even more efficient, battery and herb, if I used it as FV states it should be used.
I haven't tried a third bowl on the same battery, I might try it just to see if it is capable.
I did purchase the optional 2 battery charger with the 2 extra batteries, very reasonable at $29.00,
and that gives me a total of 4 batteries.
I've been saving the ABV as I believe I might also get a few more hits out of it in my SSV with no risk of combustion.
All in all, I'm very satisfied with the battery life and all aspects of this vape!

You guys should try some micro hits...takes the battery a long way and gives you good, dense clouds:

Hold the button down for 5 seconds, release and take your draw. Near the end of your draw, press the button again and draw after 3-4 seconds. Do this a few more times and exhale.

By doing this, you are building up heat in the ceramic chamber. Eventually, it gets warm enough that you do not need to press the button for long. Taking multiple micro hits in a row will let you load up your lungs nicely ;)

Thanks, Tweek, I'll give it a try. I've been going 'round and round' with mine off and on for a few days now. I'm really impressed with the power, but having trouble controlling it well. About the time I get a huge old hit out of it, I can't repeat it. Just haven't got the hang of it. I'm going straight off the clock, Pak advised me off line to not use a clock (count it mentally) and stay more in tune with it. That worked better last night, but I found 'big hit on demand' still lacking.

But the sucker is so strong when it gets going right testing comes to a crashing halt before much progress can be made...... Tragic. But one must suffer through. When my head clears enough, I'll give your idea a try, it might just link up to Pak (at least for me) in that I can get feedback along the way?

Thanks again. Fun machine, lots of promise, very well made and all.....I just can't make it dance on command, yet.

My pleasure OF. I found the more rapidly the button is depressed, the quicker heat builds up in the chamber. So essentially, you can get everything up to heat quicker and sustained over a longer period with these micro hits, rather than holding the button and counting. Usually after my initial warm ups, I find I am puffing rapidly and tapping the button rather quickly and the chamber builds up some great vapor.

I generally shake after a really big hit or as the vapor starts to die down. Nothing too vigorous, twirl it by its handle or in an up and down motion like a club works for me.

Without even waiting for your advice I loaded it up (fuller than ever before, half a gram?), put in a fresh battery and wondered out to the garden to see if it really is going to rain later on.

The recommended technique is a big improvement for me. I'm able to 'sneak up on it' from below over maybe 2 minutes? By then the top part is quite warm and a bump in heat gets production going. It (production) dies off slowly this way, which is good and bad I guess. Anyway, I got several effective hits off it. I've got to work with this some more.

It's entirely different to me than the 'quick blast off from cold' idea, but it seems a very useful mode. Thanks again.

I am having a ton of fun with my FV.
I did not use it for 2 days... (other things were going on), but
I just had a session with my FV and realize that I missed it.
There is a wonderful quality to the effects of vapor "gathered" and then inhaled through this device.
I shake after every single hit, although I found I could get vapor twice easily without a shake....
shaking each time keeps the flavor fresh!
Those of you lurking here....
I think that this is a fun tool, that is in a category separate from the others.

This is not a pocket vape. It is, however, easily transportable. If you don't need discretion, just the ability to take it with you in backpack or a purse, it works splendidly.

FlashVAPE mentioned earlier in this thread that he was working on a mini-FV. I don't think it will be ready any time soon, however.

as Pak mentioned earlier, the FV is designed as a portable, and at just over 7" tall, it is quite compact and easy to travel with.... and yes, the FV does vape very well indeed :)

I really don't find the need for a smaller one... It is a portable vape and it does what it has to do perfectly... There are many more pocketable vapes in the market for when you require stealth. FV is a seriously heavy hitting vape (if you require so) for the home and wherever you don't have to conceal your habits, be it a beach, the mountains, a friends house etc...

I am not using the FV "on the go" regularly.
I have however, taken the FV with me on the road, when I was not finished with a load, and it was time to leave home.
Not a stealth vape, it is discreet nonetheless, and is definitely portable.

Once, when I was desperate, I tried taking my Solo with me to a movie. It was a disaster...great vape, but it was just too awkward for me. I feel completely comfortable tossing the FV in my jacket. It is heavy, but it's quick, which is very handy when you need a fast rip on the go. The fact that it looks like a flashlight helps alot, as well.

For someone who has primarily experienced combustion weed, the flavor of the that first draw was amazing!! no burning!! Everything feels new :) Flashvape gets all the good points.

How important it is to grind the weed?

On average,...How long do you guys hold the vapor in?
