I accidentally presssed the fill tool too hard down and ended up compressing down the air tube plate thing you see on top . The cart is working fine and giving wayyyy bigger hits than the 2.4 i was using before.

Bummer. If you pressed the bridge down you probably pushed the tube into the furnace itself. They're stacked up, the only way for the top to go down is for the bottom to do so as well. Hey, if it's working it's working......

No, don't use the white cap. You don't want to seal the tube to the outer tube in use. Pressure can then build up inside the tank area and force all you lovely concentrate to come gushing out all over your shirt pocket at the worst possible time. This has been confirmed experimentally.

oh and you guys might get a kick out of this, the other night i was reachin for my pen after a ti nail session and i mistakenly grabed a brand new 5 ohm cartridge instead of the 2.4 ohm that was full. nothing happend ofcourse and it had a faint taste of metal . i looked to see the 5 ohm marking on the cartridge and face palmed lol. ofcourse even the 3.7 battery dry fired ruined the cart luckily i had some more.

Another bummer. Lucky you spotted it and knew not to throw fifty bucks into the lame cart! That can turn a 'bad break' into a 'man made disaster' in short order.

You're welcome. No, noting harmful that I can see. If you push it down too far it could short out against the exposed heater I guess, but that would kill it.

If it were mine and working well I'd be using it and smiling.

On a side not my hercules seemed to have stopped working properly or the oil tank so i thought, come to find out my herc killed my imr's that came with the persei, my aw 18350's work amazingly !!!!!!! So always check your batteries, my next step is to buy a multimeter so i can ensure optimal persei attachment functionality lol

charged batteries, .2 in the oil cart, hammer top pressed, after 45sec. I get wispy clouds and flavors of my errrls + "metallic" taste...When I check the cart all my concentrate is in the SS wick/pad...I just cannot get the clouds I expected. Any thoughts?

Question 2: can I put a dab quantity directly on the hammer ceramic hakko to have a "dab hit" style of clouds or will this damage the unit?

This is because of the cell size, one is 18650 the other is a 14650, the 18650 works a lot better under load then the 14650.

quite a difference. even the flavor is better so I guess it burns it better with higher load coming through.

I would put more than .2 in the tank. Let it heat up until vapor comes out the side holes and hold on. Fully charged IMR's are also a big help, lithium ion's won't work.

1) Was this the first time you used your Herc? If so it's just getting primmed up oil going into SS plate,heater etc. Try adding another.3g and use bic lighter to prime your tank, just melt it a little.
Now leave the top off (larger clouds IMO) Warmup for 20-30 sec or until you see smoke then rip away!
2) If you have the SS screen from valcano in there sure works okay starts to taste burnt. Works great for collecting oil than runs down to heater area.

I think I got it.
5 times on/off
LED blue no power to cart +/- voltage adjustment

Loving the iris with the herc, on a side, when you do the 5 button off the iris stays in engaged mode as if you were pressing the button (red button glow instead of blue) for about 4-5 seconds, i noticed that you can take one last hit or unscrew your cart's!!!!

Peace!! This is my first post on the site , but im a huge user of the guide and message board... I got the Persei yesterday and it looks like a solid kit!! Charged up both sets of batteries, (till solid green led) loaded .4 into 5 ohm cart with funnel and torch successfully, primed with 3.7 / 18650 like guide says ( only got flavor, no visible vapor.. And a little metallic taste, ) then when I switched over to the two 18350 (7.4v) the fully charged batteries won't even get the blue light to turn on when I press the button, doesn't work with other cart either.. And if I put the big 3.7v battery back in the carts get a little warmer and the light turns on.

Now the strangest part, when I put in then 2 battery setup ia can't screw in the end piece where u adjust height without pushing it too high ever the end of the middle section if that makes sense.... Lol long day.

I'm excited to try this vape just don't know what I did wrong.. Any ideas,? Don't get why the batteries charge, show green but don't power the persei... Anya way I can make a 3.7 v battery work with 5ohm cart? Lol

Seems like you did all the right steps,iam stumped, maybe check your spring , take the end cap off then inside unscrew the disc with tool all the way out to make sure your spring isnt completely compressed, thats the only thing i can think of.
The disc to adjust battery should freely move up and down, and theres a good amount of threads to accommodate most batteries , now if you got an older kit with the older trustfires they run large and almost run out of threads!!!! Could be bad batteries, and the 3.7 volt 18650 will barely get the 5 ohm warm, 5ohm needs 7.4 volts(the 2 18350's), the 2.4 ohm(hit lighter in cloud size, but many hits) & the 1.5ohm(these simulate running higher voltage,so hotter,bigger hits,but less hits) are design to work on the 3.7 18650's.
Hope this makes sense, & hope you get it resolved!!!

I use the AW's in my devices.
The batteries are a bit shorter than the Trust Fires.
In fact I receive a new HERCULES this afternoon including a set of AW IMR's to operate at 7.4V's.
